  1. We'll be getting on when you are getting off! We'll be in a YC balcony. We can't consider the duplex suites because my husband has mobility issues and the stairs would be a problem. It looks fabulous - enjoy!
  2. The blue YC tent is circled and then the arrow is the entrance for YC. The X is the other entrance to the terminal. This was how it was in May.
  3. In May unfortunately we had to walk inside the terminal to get a wheelchair for my hubby. It was quick but it was a bit of a walk from the YC tent. When we go in October I may have the Uber driver drop him off in front of the YC entrance and I'll drop off the luggage.
  4. According to the website the 11 day prior to our 10 day arrives back in Brooklyn at 7AM. We'll be there early for sure! Thanks for the responses
  5. Our cruise in October has a 7pm departure for the ship. When does check in start for YC for a later departure? Our last Meraviglia trip departed at 3 and we were on board before 11am.
  6. Is the OBC advertised per person or per cabin? Thanks!
  7. I never buy the cruise line insurance. I use insuremytrip . com - and get coverage for my cost of flights, medical and evacuation if needed. We are on Medicare and it doesn't cover us out of the country. The cruise line insurance is minimal coverage.
  8. Just realized our Seashore sailing next May isn't even going to OC due to the work being done there! More days to spend on board enjoying the RS. Our only heir is our daughter and we spoil her by taking her with us sometimes! (Inside YC is fine for her). She's all for our enjoying the finest things. 😉
  9. Morpheus - #3 on your list. Can you clarify? Do they charge a % if using cash or did I misread it? My hubby and I are approaching 70 too and have also decided we're going to spend on the finer things before we're too old to enjoy them! We've been YC all the way on MSC and our first RS next May (He'll be 70 by then). We've found the YC service is better than the Retreat or the Haven on those other lines. Can't wait to follow another poop deck thread!
  10. Thank you both. I've learned a lot over the last several months from both of your posts. We are relatively new to MSC and love the YC. Hubby doesn't get around too well so he probably won't get off on OC as he hasn't on our first two cruises. My concern was that if they are reserved on OC for Royal Suites then it would go to waste. Looking forward to our first RS next year for our anniversary. We will use the one on the pool deck!
  11. Are these pergolas on OC free for Royal Suite or is it just the ones on the pool deck? Thanks!
  12. If you need distilled water for a cpap (like I do) fill out the special needs form. I usually bring my own extension cord but I've been provided with distilled water on board. May not be a sealed gallon container but they do have a distiller on board. Mine came in clean plastic disposable cups.
  13. 1: Sailing in the yacht club you get double reward points? Attached is the point structure. 2: I see the Yacht club pool is much nicer and bigger then most Haven Pools, Does it really get crowded up there? We've done Haven once and now two Yacht Club cruises. The pool was never very crowded when I was up there. The most I ever saw in there was 3 or 4 people 3: Anyone Cruise Haven as well adn compare the yacht club dining room to the Haven Dining Room? I think the dining room on MSC YC is better than the Haven. Loved the Haven dining but MSC is just fabulous. Food in YC was great. 4: Also, it looks like there are formal nights on MSC, other then the formal nights are Bermuda Shorts and Polo Shirts allowed in the Dining rooms for dinner? We did see more slacks on 'formal night' than shorts but lots of shorts and polo shirts for men most nights. I either wore capris or a sundress. We did balconies our two times but in December I've booked an interior YC for myself and my grown daughter. Great price and same great service!
  14. We were on last October and there were several games on many TVs in the sports bar. You should have no problem
  15. Here's another misspelling by MSC 🙂
  16. Purified or bottled water contains minerals that are fine to drink but can create buildup in the machine water chamber. If I am forced to use bottled water I just clean the chamber every couple of days. I also bring an extension cord with me when I travel.
  17. Last year on our first MSC cruise our butler brought me a plastic cup of distilled water daily. I brought my own extension cord. Next week I will again bring my own extension cord but I'm not dragging a gallon of water with me. I will request the water as soon as we are on board.
  18. We are flying into JFK the day before our cruise out of Red Hook in Brooklyn. Staying at Town Place Suites in Brooklyn on President's street. Our plan right now is to Uber from the airport to the hotel, then Uber to the ship the next day. Does anyone have any car service recommendations that are reliable instead of Uber? I wouldn't mind having a ride all lined up ahead of our trip. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
  19. Thanks. So if we do any shopping on board I'll use his card so he can get the bonus points and join me as Diamond!
  20. On RCL I had several more cruises than my husband did. Our accounts were linked so that our status always matched. When I hit Diamond, he was granted Diamond status as well. Does MSC do this? It looks like I got some bonus points on our last MSC cruise from shopping. Says I am 1500 from Diamond, so with our cruise next month in YC I should reach Diamond status. Does my husband share the status like on other lines or is he on his own for status :)? Thanks!
  21. The sailing is back on the website today. Must have taken it off to figure out upgrade bids or something like that.
  22. I'm thinking then a big group may be holding the cabins... yesterday when we booked there were at least at least 25 YC balcony cabins still available. All categories showed plenty of availability. At least we have the cabin we wanted. Our friends are out of luck.
  23. Any idea why this sailing isn't showing on the website? There were a LOT of cabins available yesterday.
  24. Sailing out of Brooklyn. Is 12:20 flight from JFK workable? We'll UBER to the airport.
  25. We just got off Reflection Sunday also in a RS. I asked about the pajamas as I had read the ships have changed from the robes to them. Our steward checked and said they had no pajamas yet. He offered us the robes. I asked for them un-monogrammed. He left two of them a few days later. it is unfortunate that passengers need to ask for items that should be provided.
