  1. Have you seen these from another thread? A deluxe balcony on Discovery’s March inaugural cruise cost only $82/pp/day and on Sun the cheapest deluxe balcony is $309/pp/day…nearly 4 times as much. Out of curiosity checked online for the promised Elite booking period ending soon & there’s nothing there for Sun…another unfulfilled Princess promise.
  2. In the name reveal presentation they said there are 29 dining venues & guessing the majority will have a fee. In 2013 on one of Royal Princess’ first cruises & the inaugural TA we had a deluxe balcony cabin (DB) & for the same type of cabin on Sun Princess the lowest category costs 220% more. 🥴 We paid $82/pp/day for a Discovery balcony cabin on the March 2022 inaugural cruise & doubt if Sun will be worth so much more.
  3. USA Today article shows some pricing & times to book…guess the cost is for a 7-day cruise. Travelers can purchase tickets for the ship's first three trips beginning Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. Eastern time, and a special booking window for Princess Elite members runs from Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m. through Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. Eastern. Prices for a February 2024 round-trip sailing from Rome start at $1,999 for an interior room based on double occupancy with the Princess Standard package. That includes "accommodations, dining, and entertainment," according to the line's website. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2022/09/15/princess-cruises-sun-princess-ship-debut-2024/10386818002/
  4. You win a Princess logo keychain on your next cruise. ☺️
  5. ⏰…late again…maybe it’s being broadcast from the “best internet at sea”? 🤪
  6. I much preferred reading novelist Gay Courter’s objective book “Quarantine!” with details of their experiences on Diamond Princess.
  7. This is the balcony on Discovery’s E409 (DW) which is over Gigi’s…no noise & only obstructed view is looking downward from the railing. The white shades below are for Gigi’s outdoor dining.
  8. Thanks…Hopefully they’ll actually provide details this time after promising to disclose them 3 months ago.
  9. This appears to be similar to Peloton…sell overpriced exercise equipment & virtual on-demand fitness programming subscriptions.
  10. Based on their press release this is JP’s way of increasing paid exercise options. And to sell the Xpotential Fitness’ XPLUS subscriptions for in cabin & at home usage and to sell customized equipment packages for home and their merchandise in onboard retail stores.
  11. From section 5 of the Passage Contract: yes for wine (1 - 750ml bottle per adult); 12 soft drinks (or juice, water, milk) per person in cans or cartons but not bottles. For Guests of legal drinking age, an allowance of one (1) bottle of wine or champagne (750 mL in volume or less) per Guest per Voyage may be presented to security during embarkation. A US $20.00 corkage fee will be charged should Guests wish to consumer their wine or champagne in the ship’s public areas. A US $20.00 corkage fee (which is subject to change without notice) will apply to each additional bottle (750 mL in volume or less) beyond the one-bottle per Guest per Voyage allowance. Limitations apply, and wine brought in quantities deemed to be excessive by the vessel or security will be refused. Guests are also prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day, only if carried on in Guests’ hand luggage (not in checked luggage). A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. Guests will be asked to discard open beverages in plastic containers prior to boarding.
  12. Merriam-Webster’s definitions doesn’t help to connect the dots & only the current Princess management team knows the answer. Sphere: the apparent surface of the heavens of which half forms the dome of the visible sky Sphera: no definition Radia: no definition
  13. The Apple iOS app updates in the past month
  14. Another update for Apple’s iOS only a week after the last update.
  15. It's gone from my mobile devices & desktop.
  16. Hopefully the deck plans will be available sooner than for the Royal Princess which weren’t available until booking day in early March 2012 for the first cruises the following year. And we’re still waiting for the new ship’s details that were promised over 3 months ago at their VP of Sales webinar but no mention since then. Disappointed by the confirmation of the name but not surprising as the actions by the current management team don’t care about tradition. Having ships’ names that require a dictionary to learn the meaning isn’t great. Last year’s survey about ship’s names had Sphera & Radia as the new names & the class Sphere.
  17. Thanks for noticing my typo before it was too late to correct it.
  18. In one of the midship dining rooms lunch is available between noon & 1:30 and at Gigi’s Pizzeria there is a multi course table service meal for no extra charge. Other options are the grill & pizza venues on Lido deck or at the International Cafe on deck 5 in the Piazza. We go to these dining locations to avoid the busy buffet.
  19. It’s seems that when fixing one problem it creates two or more problems. 🥴 Soon it will be 5 years since the MC app was implemented yet it’s still an unreliable work in progress! And now with the creator as their president not much has improved for too many passengers…sad.
  20. We’ve greatly enjoyed the UBD on any size of balcony including the smaller 9’x4’ on Royal-class ships many times. That’s one foot of less depth than standard balconies on their other classes of ships. Once when sailing from Santorini in early December it was too cold & windy and we still greatly enjoyed the UBD inside looking out the closed glass balcony doors. Others will feel differently but for us all of them have been great…from 9’x9’ to 9’x4’. ‘mattnday’ the UBD would be my first choice followed by the Chefs Table & the Winemakers Dinner…happy anniversary. Although don’t expect Princess to do anything special…nothing was done for our 50th.
  21. Buried a couple of pages back it's being discussed & affecting everyone including those who had already paid the 50% rate. Also on the sticky at the top about the app it's being discussed. It's either another app glitch or Princess is reverting to making full payment & to get a 50% OBC on the ship.
  22. It's the same active ingredient so any side affects are the same as the brand names. It doesn't make her sleepy & she can even have wine at dinner without putting her to sleep. She generally takes it at night so if there's any sleepiness she doesn't care.🥱😴
  23. My wife uses the generic version…Meclizine works great to eliminate her motion sickness & costs much less than the brand names (Bonine & Dramamine Less Drowsy). We also get lower deck mid to mid aft cabins to have a more stable location. Although decades ago got an upgrade to an oceanview cabin as far forward as possible on an upper deck for an Alaska inside passage cruise & it was smooth on that cruise.
