  1. Still on Azamara’ website ” CORKAGE POLICY Azamara® offers a wide selection of international liquors, beer and fine wines onboard. You may bring your own favorite liquor, beer or wine for private consumption in your suite or stateroom. If you wish to consume your liquor, beer or wine in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle is subject to a corkage fee of $10.” I have heard some have been charged higher corkage. Hopefully management is honoring what is published.
  2. Very average house wines but superior to the included Azamara branded wines.
  3. You can book excursions online with your OBC. Beverage packages, specialty restaurants are only bookable when you board. They typically set a desk in the Discovery restaurant to take the reservations. I do recommend you do it immediately upon boarding so you have your choice of dates. They will also know at that time when the White Night is scheduled so you can plan around it. Enjoy your cruise.
  4. To be clearer when on the ship outside a cellular network the ships wifi is your only option for data. If close to land you might pick up a land cell site. I personally bring a hot spot when I travel that allows for me to connect my computer without tethering (without connecting to my phone) and multiple phones as well. It has to have a sim compatible to the country or countries I am in. Again I must be able to pick up a land website to use. If you aren't a techie check with your cell carrier if they offer international roaming at an acceptable cost. You can also find info on google for your specific phone for adding or replacing your sim card when you travel but realize with changing it you will now have an international phone number. Here is a helpful link How to change a Sim Card
  5. I also use a hotspot and Skype for my calls. A tip for you. On my last trip it was great except didn’t work in Copenhagen. They are shutting down their 3G network. I just upgraded to a new 4G hotspot. I still need internet on the ship. Due to time zones working after dinner is the time to communicate with the West coast.
  6. I don't disagree that Musk is a wild card but using to Campbell's Soup Cans connected with a long string is ineffective on cruise for communications. I found the Azamara Internet barely better in Iceland.
  7. As a discoverer member internet is reasonably priced but not when it is unreliable. Very disappointed with the service as others have said. Some of us still work on our vacations. There are better services available then what is being used but the cost for ships to upgrade their internet isn’t cheap. https://www.afar.com/magazine/cruise-ship-wi-fi-how-reliable-and-expensive-is-it-really?_amp=true
  8. I contacted Azamara by email and by surprise they responded with a thank you making them aware and they made the change on the excursion reservation page to start at 1:30PM. I happily just registered for the excursion. Response was 2 days of my email to them. Points given to the back office 🎉
  9. Interesting. I will be on the Journey due in Venice April 14, 2023. Have heard nothing so waiting to find out the actual port we will be at. Just went on the website and they are selling excursions in Venice for the day we dock . I was booking for another port where we docked at 1PM but the excursion was to start at 8AM. Perhaps we would be picked up by helicopter off the ship to make the excursion? Guess we just need to stay loose and flexible and be happy for a vacation.
  10. There is across the room at the desk 3 sockets, European, UK and US lug type. If you bring adapters you can use all 3 with your UK electrical gadgets. They don’t allow powerstrips from the US on any cruise line I have been on.
  11. Was on the Pursuit in August in a veranda cabin on deck 7. Used an extension cord to plug in across the room to my cpap. There is a USB outlet to charge cell phones on the bottom of the light sconses on both sides of the bed but no electric outlet
  12. Friends in August on the Pursuit were also quarantined in their 7th deck veranda cabin.
  13. Can anyone on board please possibly provide a copy of the "by the bottle" wine list with prices (at least a few pages of the cabs & pinots)? With that info it would help in deciding whether to purchase a multi-bottle wine package or bring bottles onboard and pay corkage. As a second question I don't know the turnover of the premium by the bottle wines and how they have been stored onboard . Can anyone please post their experiences? If corkage is still $10 on my next sailing in March bringing six bottles on at a time might be the way to go.
  14. It is not announced till you are on board and might be changed due to weather or ?????
  15. Just finished a call with the travel agent and Azamara. About an hour of time getting through to Azamara but the savings was just over $4K. Lost the onboard booking bonus OBC but gained the current offer for OBC and lost the upgraded beverage package for 2 (my wife doesn't drink) and free internet (that only works occasionally). Well spent hour. I do recommend if you have a future cruise booked you do a test reservation on the Azamara website and compare against what you have.💲 😀
  16. I booked a future back to back cruise on my last cruise and the final payment is due in 2 weeks. I have only paid $75/person deposits. I just ran a make believe reservation on the Azamara website and the savings are significant. If I request repricing do I lose the credit for booking when the ship which was $600 on each cruise? Even with that loss it is almost $2,000 savings.
  17. Was on the Pursuit in August. Did both breakfast (opened at 7AM) and the occasional lunch when not in port on excursions. Lots of choices from healthy to delicious (and your doctor wouldn't approve). There are also places where you can get a bite between meals if hungry on the ship. I chose Azamara because of the itineraries but also it being casual. I didn't bring a sports coat and dress in the dining room and specialty restaurants I would call country club casual. I wore a collared golf shirt and pants and was never out of place. You will enjoy your cruise!!
  18. At 73 my biggest concern is medical coverage in case of an emergency. $50,000 on my Medicare supplement seems very inadequate if we were unfortunately hospitalized. Through a referral from this board I reached out to Steve Dasseos of the Trip Insurance Store 888-407-3854 who made a suggestion of a superior policy increasing the amount of medical coverage and at a lower cost. Very knowledgeable travel insurance broker!
  19. I recall on Celebrity getting an printed invitation which might have been on the bed or outside the door but got our attention. We had a very successful meet and greet with perhaps 2-3 dozen attending. One couple we met on that cruise has travelled with us since and lives an hour away, has become a regular golf partner and we were invited to their daughter's wedding. Lots of new friendships develop in meet and greets!!
  20. Was on the pursuit in august and started the roll call. No one showed up for the meet and greet. Easily missed as it was on the schedule but no invitations to bring to everyone's attention.
  21. Ever had your phone run out of battery or decide to do an operating system update at a very inconvenient time? 😬
  22. Now I recognize the bouquet of the Azamara branded wines, Chateau Borox
  23. Insurance companies are notorious on dragging payments out. Try complaining to the regulatory agency. https://www.nh.gov/insurance/consumers/documents/onlinecompform2.pdf
  24. Cruise critic doesn’t like referrals to websites. I have used for years squaremouthdotcom. You can probably figure this out.
  25. I thought the coverage on the Sapphire Reserve account for trip cancellation/delay was pretty good unless you want "cancel for any reason insurance" or you feel you need more coverage then that policy provides. I buy the international medical insurance online. I found a policy covering a 1 month trip with $500,000 medical coverage for $172 for my wife and I.
