If you like diving or snorkeling ABC’s are the best. I could totally do without the Dominican Republic

Many believe that Carnival has enough money to continue this in perpetuity. I hope they can make it out of this solvent.
You do know what perpetuity is?

In the U.S.? Doubtful many Caribbean islands will still have limited entry requirements, not set up for 1000’s entering at once

The CEO said in an interview this week that they will provide details when the CDC offers any suggestions. Obviously the CDC has decided the cruise lines aren't worthy of a moment's consideration
Come on man, nothing nefarious, if they knew more, they would have better guidelines

This is a fact Nobody knows when cruises can resume in the US.
Exactamundo, saying it for a while.

That’s one employee — not all. Everyone has different contract start dates and not everyone will get a new contract. Limited ships and limited capacity equates to fewer associates with a lower payroll.
Perhaps this one in particular just didn’t make the cut for the first phase of operations. Remember, there are more candidates competing for a small number of positions.
Well it’s at least 2 a husband and wife bartender and bar manager12 years with the company, 8 on the Magic, rest on the Vista. They stay in touch with many cruise crew and they have not got any marching orders.

I think it will be more like herding cats.
I listened to the maitre d' once announce no baseball caps or wife beater tee shirts, both of which grown men at the next table from mine had on.... neither flinched. Carnival isn't known for enforcing rules. Just the opposite.
Not always, I personally have seen Maitre’d and Hostesses ask men to put on long pants or change their shirt on Elegant night.

The excursion companies are limited on most islands. I would say 4 guys own most of the excursions. One might be contracted to NCL, one Princess, so basically they are the same and all licensed, insured and responsible.

We have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years coming up. How many people are going to stay at home and not visit family/friends during the holidays? The numbers will just continue to rise.
Just like the Rock, Dwayne Johnson who innocently went to visit his “healthy” family and his whole family tested positive.

My crew friend on the Vista are still home in the Philippines, no definitive dates yet

In BVI? Contract what out to whom? This will have to be done in every Caribbean port

How do you think they will screen 3-4K tests at embarkation at each port? They are not, a logistical nightmare

The cruise lines know they will not be stopping in Grand Cayman. However, I think they aren't going to create an alternate itinerary until they are certain they will be able to sail. I don't think November cruises will be sailing so no need to create an alternative.
Remember, this is much bigger than grand cayman being closed. All islands/countries that are re-opening to tourists are creating policies around covid. Usually involving a combination or pre-trip testing, testing upon arrival, and quarantines. Step 1 is for CDC to not extend no sail order. Step 2 is for the governors/mayors of the port cities/states to allow the "mass gathering" or embarkation. Step 3 is to negotiate arrival terms with the ports. There's still alot of steps to go.
As an example for entering Jamaica, we have a land trip in December. Everyone has to have a recent negative Covid test 10 days prior to arrival. This option would never work for a cruise ship.

and plan to stop in a closed port
Absolutely not, just like missing a port due to weather, but this is a way different storm

How about not leaving the ship? The Bubble effect is working well so far for the NBA. Might not be a bad idea?
You really are not comparing the NBA to a cruise. 30 rich guys getting tested daily, locked in a hotel. It’s called the NBA bubble for a reason. They have a mission to finish the playoffs. 3000 people on a boat with virtually no testing, very similar 🙈

Nonsense. Carnival remains confident and currently advises that November is still on schedule for sail dates. Have some faith and pixie dust.
Not nonsense, as Cruiseboy says, NO-ONE KNOWS, faith and pixie dust is all you have

Mexico is taking anyone and their virus numbers prove it. Many Caribbean islands are not ready for U.S. citizens, don’t blame them.
Side note, we just got back from Yellowstone, virtually no masks. even most restaurants in West Yellowstone, no masks at all.

Hawaii is not allowing U.S. mainland people in their state. they still have a mandatory 14 day quarantine
-
They have no idea, everything is just speculation at this point

As I have said on numerous posts, nobody knows anything for sure. I would not hold my breath for a Thanksgiving cruise. Carnival has no idea and all people are talking about are law suits, crazy

We don’t live in Europe, moot point

Of course there is a way out, unfortunately it is not a priority to many

Because they listened to the scientists

As of now, we are not welcome to Hawaii. A mandatory 14 quarantine is in order.
