Cruiselover was bored? Wow, there activities day and night. don’t get me wrong, love cruising, but the food is miles above Carnival. Six or seven restaurants from all over the world. Free top shelf liquor, free WiFi, and satellite TV with real channels, swim up bars, tipping is prohibited, except the Spas. Sandals has free diving, snorkeling, sailing, SUPs, kayaks, water skiing, and more. We are booked December 10-20 in Jamaica for our son’s wedding, we live in hope.🙏

I never arrive prior to 1:30 pm so that I can go straight to my cabin. Arrival time really isn't that critical since all ticketed passengers will be allowed on the ship. Yes, I get that some people like to get on as early as possible but folks will survive if they have to wait a hour or so.

We are Platinum and still never arrive before one. Never felt like we were missing anything.

Winter as December 2021, good question, who do you think will be in the whitehouse and can / will Americans follow rules?

apparently not, I feel embarrassed for our country. Deniability has lead us to where we are.

We also did an 8 night cruise on the Freedom and docked in the town of Colon. We opted for an excursion to transit the locks and it did not disappoint. Luckily it was reserved through Carnival as we returned to the ship three hours after it should have left due to canal traffic and an accident.

There are only several licensed canal tour operators. They all have the ship's phone number. Running late in the canal is more common then on time. The ship will wait even if it's not Carnival

Does your state require a minimum age to get a driver's license?  Is that age discrimination or is justifiable?

ridiculous analogy, or the drinking age, no it's not discrimination. Can you join the military at 12? It's called a minimum age requirement, not discrimination

  6. A little off topic, but last year we did a land trip to Costa Rica and Panama. We did a Panama Canal cruise on a 100' boat with 50 guests, guided with breakfast and lunch. Seeing the canal from a small ship is a completely different experience. The guide describes every facet of the canal, very fascinating. You get to see the lower walls of the canal and watch the lock full up. We spoke with other guests who have done it on a cruise and he said apples and oranges

Um, no, it is 3.6%.  You are off by a factor of 100.

And that is the average across all age groups. As shown, it is far worse as age increases.

I meant that, sorry, it was right on my iPhone, missed a couple of decimal points.

My two cents.  I would not leave the country without a valid passport right now.  If a country locks down or there is an out break on a ship, it could result in being forced to disembark in a foreign country.  Also, if there is a sudden Covid problem, the embassy might not be open in whatever country you are in.  I know it would all probably work out, but the amount of hassle and insecurity of not knowing would drive me nuts.  I know it is improbable, but what if they disembarked you into a country for quarantine for 14 days.  Then, you had to do a flight home.  You cannot visit an embassy while in quarantine.  Too many "what if's" right now.  For me, no passport, then I just don't go.

The best option is download to your device any music you would want to listen to.  To actually stream music, you will need to be on a ship with upgraded wifi and purchase the highest level package. Save some money and aggravation.  Download your music.

there is anew service out called iTunes 🙄 you do not need wifi . I have over 2,000 songs downloaded

There is already a statistically significant level of infections that dictate the level of near-term deaths. You don't need more data to tell you that older individuals have a 10x fatality vs younger folks. Long-term impacts are  TBD though obviously.

not even close to accurate stats. 10X where did you get that number?

They were given clear requirements for resuming sailing.  Waiting to see what the next two months will bring, is what has brought the cruise lines to this point, they were waiting to see, not working to meet the requirements.

Well they surely don't want to test heard immunity with 3,000+ guests. Tough to make an educated decision when the outcome is completely unknown.
