  1.

We just got back from our 1st cruise since before the pandemic hit. We returned to our beloved OASIS.

We had a WONDERFUL time...but were disappointed that RCCL no longer leaves the Cruise Compass on your bed every evening.

They don't even have them at Guest Services!!!

Not everyone has or relies on their iphone. I have always carried that paper with me all day!!!

If this is a "cut back"...then at least have some at Guest Services for those that want a tangible guide.

    Just my opinion.

  2. Does anyone remember Jim and Judith? (Trainman)

Yes...I know he passed away...but we loved him.

I followed all of his reviews...and we finally got to meet them on the Oasis.

Best time EVER. We spent the whole week with them.

  3. So difficult to choose...but it would have to be on The RCCL Explorer to Bermuda.  Why? Because it was my new husband's very first cruise and I was PETRIFIED he wouldn't enjoy cruising as much as I do.

His words to me on day 3....."I have never felt so relaxed in my life"

Hence....dozens of cruises followed. He is addicted.

We've had several recent conversations about the drop-off in food quality, something I definitely noticed on our recent Mediterranean cruise on Infinity a few weeks ago.

I'm with a big Wall Street firm and I just spoke w/a client who returned a few days ago from a northeastern US/Canada cruise on Princess (Caribbean Princess).  These clients are very easygoing and are not the "fussy" types, so I'd consider them to be pretty easy to please.  I asked how things went and this was the response I received...

"Our Princess cruise was the worst vacation ever.  The ship was old.  The food was worse than horrible.  It's not that the taste was just bad night-after-night, but service was slow and the food was served cold every night.  I'm not talking about warm, I'm talking flat-out cold!  Everyone was sick and coughing.  We both caught covid.  They had people crammed together like a cattle car.  They nickel and dimed us for everything.  I'm not sure that we'll ever do a cruise again, but if we do, it definitely won't be with Princess!"

I wonder if these cruise lines aren't shooting themselves in the foot with the recently discussed cutbacks and such, both on Celebrity and apparently on Princess too?  FWIW, both the GF and I caught covid on our recent Celebrity cruise as well as on our last Celebrity cruise.  However, we've been on 3 MSC cruises and didn't catch covid.  Not sure if that's just bad luck or what.

    Are you Vaccinated?

We have cruised on NCL, HAL and Princess in Alaska and in my opinion Princess definitely provided the best overall experience and itineraries. Be sure to look at port times and whether Glacier Bay is included when doing your comparisons.

    Thank you!!!

  6. Hello my friends. I am not a newbie and have been on MANY cruises and all different cruise lines....BUT I have never been to Alaska.

Does one cruise line do it "better" than another to Alaska or are they all pretty much the same.

Yes and yes! Cheers! It is included in the Deluxe beverage package and the refreshment package but not the soda package.

  8. We got off the Divina on February 10th. (GREAT TIME) BUT.....I am on a scooter. For those that are in a wheel chair, scooter, rollator, or even a cane...you are going to have a very difficult time, if not impossible, if someone is not with you. This is the first time I have been on a ship that does not have automatic opening doors..ANYWHERE. They are all big, heavy, wooden doors that you manually have to open. If I wasn't with my husband, I would have to wait for the kindness of strangers to help me. Does the Meraviglia have automatic doors or do I have to go through this again? Thank You!!!
