For those familiar with MSC Yatch club what rooms would be equivalent to RS or PH on Celebrity S class? We would be traveling as three adult guests. We need two separate rooms, preferably 1 and a half bathrooms and a decent balcony if that comes into play...
I have just had a browse but the suite that came up didn’t have a balcony....Do they have different classes of ship like M ans S class?
We are very happy with Celebrity but a good look at the competition is never a mistake.
Good morning..you should really post this question on the MSC threads. There are a couple of people (Skier 52) that are pro's when it comes to the Yacht Club cabins.

Thanks for your great photos. I have a question. We are in cabin 6262 and it is listed as an obstructed cabin. I see the lifeboats in your photo, are they on deck 5? I bet our cabin will have a great view of the lifeboats. LOL
I booked this cruise late and all that was available on the package we bought were guarantee cabins. It looks like you have a great balcony.

Hi Hank. I have read a couple of your posts on MSC, including the review on the Celebrity threads. We also do not stick with any "one" cruise line, as we love them all for different reasons. We have the Divina booked for January and the Meraviglia booked in October. This will be our first time on MSC and very impressed with your synopsis of this cruise line. However, we are not booked in the YC, but may book it on the Seaside in 2020.
There is really only one thing that bothers me. You and many others have stated..."almost empty" in the areas of the YC. Although this may have many advantages (no chair hogs, etc.), my husband and I are very social. We like meeting and speaking with new people and have formed many life long cruising buddies over the years. If these places are practically empty....where is everybody? Lol Does everyone venture out of the YC? Thank you for any info you can provide.

This is what I found:
The reviews are horrible. I would look for something else.

There are no other ships comparable to the Oasis class...although I still love the Celebrity brand. My fav is the Equinox

Yes. Could not log in. When I could, I was automatically signed out. Very aggravating. Glad they fixed the problem

Thank you for sharing. Great review. Bonaire is wonderful and cannot wait to go back. They were still in the process of building their 2nd pier. We also went to Eagle Beach in Aruba (was not impressed) but the water was beautiful. The "ugly" part of your review is why we have never, nor will we ever, cruise out of PR. Lots of people have said the same thing you did!

They did add a couple of actual hammocks to the Mariner and the Indy. That photo is of the kids climber.

I think he was kidding..😁

We were in port, side by side with the Marella Explorer last month. All of their balconies had hammocks on them.

We also did this this cruise on the Splendor in January for 15 days. 5 out 5 on the Islands and 5 back. If you like to be on the Lido Deck (outside), which we do....there are some chilly and windy days. (never went below 50 degrees)...but felt colder with the wind. Bring a warm jacket with you! You will be glad you did. Have a great cruise. It is an amazing vacation and I love the Splendor.

Not really sure what you want us to say. You don't want to be indoors....so take an umbrella? Lol You are from Florida and know how this goes. (as you stated) I would just consider myself lucky that it your first time dealing with weather issues on a cruise. Try to have a good time anyway.

The only place on the Equinox that we went to, was the Martini Bar where the classic drink package did not cover. We just paid the $2 extra dollars to drink there....no big deal. Other than that, we pretty much had anything everywhere else on the ship.

OK , so my question has more to do with boarding procedures on NCL -- a cruise line that I've never sailed on. How was it that the OP's mom could not access her own cabin (locked) upon boarding, but could get into an adjacent unlocked (unoccupied?) cabin? On Royal and Celebrity, access to all of the cabin areas is closed and locked, until they announce that the cabins are ready. In most instances, you can't even get into the hallways, until that announcement comes over the PA system. And, during that time, the cabin doors themselves are not locked -- since the rooms are still being cleaned and prepped. So, if you did happen to stumble into a cabin area, before the announcement, all of the doors would be unlocked. Bottom line: if you couldn't access 'your' cabin, you most likely wouldn't be able to go into the one that was adjacent to it. Can someone please explain to me how they do things on NCL?
Still trying to get my mind around why anyone would go into someone else's cabin -- much less leave something of value there -- just because their cabin door was locked. Their key-card should have unlocked the door -- if it really was their cabin. But here again -- I know nothing of how things work on NCL.
NCL works the same way as all the other mass market cruise lines...and just as you state, the main doors are locked.

And, interestingly, OP was on the site 26 minutes ago, but has not returned to post further on this thread.
Mmmmm.......interesting.....to say the least.

Yep, and I do that as well, it helped on the Navigator TA, but like the staff, once it gets down into the 50s, it's time to call it a day.
On the Grandeur last month. Winter coats on .....freezing....yet the lifeguard had to stand there for hours on end even though there were no people.

Errrr, nope.
60 posts, as on the avatar.
But in this awful CC re-vamp I can understand your thinking it's only four.
Click on the OP's screen name.
On that page, click on "see their activity".
On that page, click on "posts".
If that doesn't work (on my PC I just get the dreaded endless spiral ), click on "topics" instead.
That brings up all the topics in which the the OP posted, going back to Dec 2007.
(Navigating that was so much easier on the old CC format )
OK, not Cruise Critic's most prolific poster. But enough posts, and over a more than long-enough period, for it to be obvious that they're neither a troll nor a hoaxer.
I'd been hoping that the OP would come back with a little more detail & a little more clarity.
But I guess the first few responses have put them off.
Possibly for life.

Ok...I originally clicked the "see their activity" and only the same four posts showed when clicking on the Avatar...but then followed your continued instructions. You were correct and I apologize. I find it strange though, that when I click on my profile, I don't have to do all of that. They automatically come up and I just tried yours....they also automatically popped up. Very strange.

Yes, Welcome to Cruise Critic.

I dunno.. 60 posts over decade doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsement of solid respectability. Account may have been hacked.
but that aside.. the entire tale is fishy. nothing about it makes any sense whatsoever.
If you look at her profile, she has actually only had 4 posts, so I tend to agree with you.

Sorry your wife cannot go..what a bummer. Do you have a friend or relative that would be able to take her place? I mean, you already paid for it, right?
Who has switched their primary cruise line?

Thank you so much Hank. This is the exact detailed information I was looking for and needed. As amazing as the YC sounds, I really do not think it is for us. I understand why many people do not care for crowds and too many people, but I would prefer it to what you have described. I'm sure your experience was probably on target after spending 21 straight days there. I painstakingly chose the 2 cabins for the Aurora experience on both the Divina and the Meraviglia and I am sure we will be very happy. I think perhaps I will do the same for the Seaside.
On the flip side, your critique probably convinced many people to try the YC, as many people prefer peace and serenity!!!! Thank you soooo very much!
