We have a similar situation to VBILady. We're traveling for a month and don't want to take up extra luggage room with a tux he will only wear on this leg of our trip. BUT, my husband is 6'6"! It's not typical for him to find anything in his size very easily. I'm thinking we just go with a nice suit and call it a day. But sure would be fantastic if they could outfit him with a rental.

Vintage dancing is an authentic recreation of historical dance styles. Usually in a big hall with a live band and we dress formally, with some in historical attire. For more info, you could google Gaskell Ball and PEERS which are the two I've attended. We dance waltzes, galop, schottische, polka and many more including line dances such as Strip the Willow. But for what it's worth, I can also dance like a flapper 😉

We're taking our first cruise with Cunard in 2024 and I was incredibly excited about the dance hosts. I love to ballroom dance (I also do vintage dancing) but my husband almost never wants to. Ah well, we shall see. Also, as a professional jazz singer, I have always ended up being invited to "sit in" with the bands and crooners on our cruises. Wonder if we can work that out this time too? Sounds like there might be an opening. haha!

Wow! We pay about $2 a gallon at home. I guess we'll stop by a store near the port before we get on board.

I visited the website to see what they were recommending. At first I was surprised because the clothing was all over the map, and not what I had put in my info. I had said no to shorts and skirts, and yet there were many of those being offered. I then noticed that there were many more questions I could answer and info I can submit that was not at the original intake. So I have added those and now we see if it gets better. Even so, there were several pieces I did like. I haven't gone so far as to check out the return policies. The clothing isn't cheap and I'd hate to spend a lot of money and be stuck with clothing that doesn't fit or work.

Thank you, I found it! I'm all signed up - now let's see how it goes

FWIW - This will be our first Celebrity cruise - but on every single cruise we've ever done we have specified split beds and it has NEVER been done in advance. We simply tell our steward when we get there and they fix it before bedtime.

Celebrity has stepped up its vegan food game

Good to know! Looks like lots of options -
I received the email but was unable to sign up. It asked for a code which I have not received. I guess they thought I'm already stylish enough!

Here's one I don't think has been shared yet. The tacos were not really tacos - open flour tortillas with cauliflower and onions - forgot what else. There was a white sauce alongside and I was told it was yogurt and chives. I let my server know that yogurt isn't vegan (I highly doubt they had vegan yogurt on board). It would have been better with some salsa anyway - kind of dry. The salad, pasta and shepherd's pie were really good. Didn't have the soup.

Glad to see ducks are still being hidden and found!

IMG_0465.HEIC Trying copy and paste, as drag and drop is what made it be a download. Oh well! lol -
That light is so annoying! We used the tiny decorative pillow to block the whole thing each night before bed. Worked a charm.

Sorry, don't know how to put the picture in the post instead of making it a download -
I was delighted to find my first duck! Simple pleasures, yes I know. I kept for a short while and then re-hid. If you're on Cruise Critic - thank you to Laura & CeCe for this bit of fun on the Crown Princess, Oct 22 CA Coastal! 🙂 Who else has found or hidden a duck lately? IMG_0465.HEIC

It really depends on the experience and vibe you desire! I sailed on Carnival Panorama in January of 2020 and I never would have dreamed I could actually dislike a cruise but there I was, counting the days until I could disembark. If you want waterslides, sky bikes, crew members directing every party by separating the "boys and girls" for choreography, dinner interrupted each night by extremely loud music and encouragement to stand up and dance while your food gets cold - then Carnival is it! We enjoy a more relaxed and elevated vibe if you will. We love the jazz music, trivia games, adult-only pool, elegant MDR, and if we are in the mood there is also dancing ranging from ballroom to line dancing to freestyle. That is Princess! And that is my opinion. 😉

Got off the Crown this morning - another couple traveling with us, we all loved our beds. Caribe deck. I was so relieved after reading about the saggy mattresses!

On the Crown we were given a robe but not slippers. I brought my sandals each time.

Broccoli salad was great, didn't have the soup, the penne was delicious, the portobellos really good. Another night they had a mushroom bourgignon (sp?) over mashed potatoes. Really good! Also a veggie lasagna which was pretty good. The winner of them all was the veggie shepherd's pie! Oh and the marinated tofu salad - they did a great job on the marinade.
