  1. I haven't seen that before either... Might be port dependent... might be something new. It is not listed in my CP
  2. I bring double what I need as well... I have only needed to dip into my extra once... but I was happy I had them! A lot of people were scrambling
  3. Yes, you get 4 drinks as a diamond member. Yes you can use it on any drink (other than Licensed Starbucks and Bionic Bar) They do nit carry over to the next day, use them or lose them No, your non-diamond cabinmate does not get the same perks as you You can share your diamond drinks with anyone you want tho (Search option would have answered all these questions)
  4. We had the Hibachi on Symphony... I had to talk my DH into it so we ate there on night 7 of an 8-night cruise. After dinner, he asked why we didn't book it a few times during the cruise!! 🤦‍♀️ It was better than our local hibachi restaurants, and almost as good as some of the places I have been to when I lived in SoCal and Vegas 🙂 EDIT to add... I am not sure which specialty restaurants are open for lunch on boarding day, I know Playmakers should be open... Check your cruise planner and see which you can make lunch reservations for and then check what days 😉
  5. You can try calling and booking it over the phone if they say no on the phone... book the encounter you decide on. Once on the ship ask again at the excursion desk. I would take a screenshot of the recommended age and the full description
  6. Is the 7-year-old a good swimmer? The recommended age is 8 but doesn't say must be 8 The requirements are height and weight 1/2 my family did the encounter and the other half did the swim (in Cozumel) Those that did the encounter wished they would have done the swim. I am not trying to talk you into one vs the other but reading the descriptions in both the Grand Cayman and Jamaica it does say recommended not required... Only you know your comfort level and his swimming ability
  7. When I was on in May of 2022, they had a Holdem tournament on day 2... a few players asked if they had cash games. The dealer said not normally, but if enough people want it we will provide the dealer. They picked a time and it was full all week!!
  8. I prefer Aft-facing balconies! They sell out the fastest too I would keep it!!
  9. Sometimes I think it is scary that I know where and how to do these things and I don't drink enough to need it lol
  10. No video... but Cruise Deck Plans has plenty of pictures
  11. I was going to talk about the Aft-Facing Balcony as well but they have a balcony on Allure. Unless they really splurge, that is not possible
  12. WOW!!! What does a hammock on the balcony have anything to do with your bedroom?? I don't think my furbabies would be happy with a hammock in my bedroom! I used to have hammocks in my backyard and have considered getting one for cruising. I spend more time on my balcony than I do in the room. I pay for a balcony because I enjoy the balcony!! I don't know anyone that doesn't spend time on their balcony... except now I can say I know of one person who wouldn't spend the time enjoying a balcony. To the OP As others said they are blackout curtains... WAY too dark for my taste but that is my personal opinion... I leave the curtains open all cruise. They won't make you take down the hammock unless they are power washing. Please use headphones... other cabins around you might like the same music, but they might be napping and don't want to hear it. Advice DO NOT SIT ON THE RAILING! Especially to take a selfie.
  13. I like lobster but the "Lobster Night" lobster is not all that!! I definitely wouldn't miss it if I didn't get it on a cruise. If you want a good lobster lunch or dinner look at one of the ports or a specialty restaurant. The specialty restaurants' lobster on most ships is better than the included lobster but not as good as other restaurants
  14. One deck is normally for Traditional Dining same table, waitstaff, time, early 5:30 or 6, Late 7:30 or 8 depending on the ship The other deck is My Time Dining, you can male reservations or just show up during open hours and wait in line...
  15. I have also seen a lot in WJ vs the MDR. That being said, the few times we cruised with my BiL(he has Celiac Disease 100%GF) Every night in the MDR they would bring out the menu for the following night and he would place his order, including a couple of desserts 🙂
  16. Really late?? The first time slots are normally 10:30 If you will be turned away if you show up early depends on the personnel working that day.
  17. Why does it have to be one or the other? Why not both? I run Bowling tournaments every Saturday and Sunday. We used to spend $20-$30 for candy per tournament!! Now I buy it in bulk. The chocolate, peanuts, pretzels etc that I bring with me to share with the crew is from the tourneys, Before I started bringing the candy, I gave a cash tip on top of the Pre-Paid Gratuities... I didn't lower the cash tip and add chocolate in its place!! My DH would eat the $3 bag of candy before we'd see the room attendant lol OK, he is not that bad, but as I said above, I buy in bulk 🙂
  18. I always have a tray of mixed chocolate minis out and let my Room Attendant know they are welcome to have whatever they want... Pre-Covid they might take a few pieces a week. After the restart, I was getting asked if they could take some for their roommate or friends. Our first cruise, post covid was the 2nd sailing after the restart... They went through 8 lbs of chocolate. On our next cruise in Feb, the crew was able to get off the ship in some ports so the craving for sweet and salty wasn't as strong. But I still offered it and they did take some
  19. It has been a while since I sailed out of Port Liberty... Most of my family stayed at hotels in Elizabeth NJ. Some included transportation from the airport and the Cruise Port and some took ubers/lyfts
  20. We are also mid 50's, an empty-nester couple and we were Diamond on Harmony, D+ On Symphony, I didn't mind Harmony and Symphony. I didn't find it too crowded but I also did not spend a lot of time around the pools... The solarium and central park were nice places to just chill. The Broadway shows I could take them or leave them... I wasn't a huge fan of Grease but it may have been because both leads were under-studies 😕 Loved the Aqua Show and Ice Skating shows! My DH Loves Oasis Class. He hasn't really said why, but my guess is the Specialty Dining and the Aqua Show. I am happy we did Hatmony before Symphony only due to when we went on Symphony. It was the 2nd sailing after the restart and there were only 1127 passengers out of a full capacity of 6400 I think. It was as if we had the entire ship to ourselves. The only time we really saw people were at dinner and shows.
  21. Depending on the ship it can be used at Cafe Latte-Tudes or Cafe Promenade
  22. $650 for an additional 3 nights... If you can't justify it, I am not sure why its an option. Sounds to me like you had made uo your mind before you posted
