  1. Here's a Cunard ship on a webcam capture showing a cruise-by location we have not seen yet. It's also a cruise-by location that's not on our unseen ports list. Cunard ships have sailed through this location numerous times. But as far as I know, it has not been listed as a cruise-by location on the itineraries until recently so it never made our ports lists.
  2. When I saw your follow-up post had been edited because of "Too much of a clue!" I wondered what I had missed. You did the right thing by editing it. Your original photo had just enough detail to figure out eventually. As @sfred has mentioned, letting us go down a few rabbit holes is part of the challenge of this game. After a day or two with no luck, additional clues may be necessary then. Thank you for contributing to our game with an excellent challenge.
  3. Queen Anne is back on course to Oslo after completely a large loop around the Skagerrak. She continues to report Oslo as her destination via AIS and the Port Calls page on the Port of Oslo website is still listing her for an 8:00am arrival tomorrow morning.
  4. Now that we've started a new page on this thread, this may be a good time to post the latest lists of the ports we have seen so far and the Cunard ports we have not seen yet on this thread. Where in the World 2024-07-22.txt Cunard ports not seen yet 2024-07-22.txt
  5. Is this Boston? I'm getting a pretty good match to the Graves Light at the entrance to Boston Harbor.
  6. Thank you @carlmm for your excellent contributions over the years. As I think back, one of the most perplexing yet rewarding challenges was your picture of San Andrés Island. That took a lot of work involving finding old itineraries for Caronia to cross reference with the various hints you provided along the way. I've been collecting a variety webcam images of Cunard ships this year. They are all of ports we've already seen on this thread and unfortunately most of them are instantly recognizable using Google Lens. I have one or two that might pose a bit of a challenge or are significant enough to post anyway. Watch this space for a few future contributions from me in the weeks to come. And as always, I encourage others to post your own photos of Cunard ports even if those photos don't happen to show a Cunard ship. It's always good to be challenged with new perspectives of ports even if we've seen other views of those ports before.
  7. That's correct. Those images were captured from the Ross Bay Live Webcam offering views of Clover Point to the west (in the first image) and the Trials Islands Lighthouse to the east (in the second image). I had been searching quite a while for a webcam showing QE at Victoria and finally found this one. It doesn't quite show the port of Victoria but it's close by and is an excellent webcam to watch ships arriving and departing Victoria.
  8. To celebrate this thread's fourth birthday, I'm posting this reply exactly four years to the minute from when @Host Hattie created the thread. I believe her intention was to provide an entertaining diversion during the shutdown in operations. Little did any of us know at the time that this thread would last so long and have so many contributions. It's clearly been a very interesting and entertaining thread for me over these past four years! I submit for your consideration these two webcam captures, both from the same webcam. This first image shows a Cunard ship arriving at a port we've seen before. The port itself is only a couple miles away off to the right. This second image shows the same Cunard ship departing from the same port. This image shows a location a couple miles further away from the port as the camera panned to the left from the location shown in the first image. I'm expecting this to be a challenge but I won't be surprised at all if you prove me wrong with a quick identification. Which port is this ship arriving and departing in these webcam images?
  9. No, that wording in the shore excursions terms and conditions about the 10% cancellation penalty is not new. I have a version of those terms and conditions from 2013 containing exactly that same wording. Based on the experiences reported here, perhaps it's a policy that isn't actually enforced. Perhaps it's something akin to the limits on the amount of wine and spirits that may be brought on board which are not enforced.
  10. If it helps any, the port timings I'm seeing on a variety of travel agent and cruise booking websites for Queen Anne's call to Bergen on 6 September 2024 are 8:00am arrival and 2:00pm departure. That agrees with the port schedule found on the Bergen Havn "bergenhavn.no" website after I adjust my time zone to Norway time (UTC+2). For whatever reason, the times listed on that schedule are sensitive to the time zone of the viewer. For someone on UK time, the Bergen Havn website shows 7:00am arrival and 1:00pm departure. That may account for those timing you're seeing elsewhere. Anyway, I'm reasonably confident your port timings for Bergen are 8:00am and 2:00pm. The description for the Cunard shore excursion you have booked should indicate both the start time and the duration, so that should also help narrow down the timings. I can't really answer whether that will be enough time for your visit to Bergen, but I hope that's of some help. If you let use know the start time and duration of your booked shore excursion others may be able to offer their advice.
  11. That's not my understanding from reading the Shore Experiences "Terms and Conditions" found here on the Cunard US website. This indicates there is a 10% cancellation fee for cancelling a shore excursion on board. https://www.cunard.com/en-us/my-cunard-tcs#shoreexperiences "(i) Pre-paid Shore Experience bookings Once on board, if you wish to cancel your Shore Experiences before the cancellation deadline (generally 48 hours prior to the arrival in port) a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to your on board account and the full amount paid will be refunded to your original credit/debit card." The other factor which may be worth mentioning is that there is a 10% discount for booking shore excursions in advance. So as I understand it, cancelling and re-booking on board would incur both a 10% cancellation penalty and the loss of that 10% discount for booking prior to boarding.
  12. @Lanky Lad, I don't know if you play the word game "Wordle" which has been all the rage the past few years. If you do, I expect you'll appreciate today's Wordle word (in the original version acquired by and now curated by the New York Times). I understand the game has a UK connection with its Welsh creator Josh Wardle.
  13. QM2 departed Southampton on Friday (August 16) close to her scheduled 5:00pm departure time and is currently on a transatlantic crossing to New York. I estimate she has sailed roughly 650 NM of that voyage as of this posting. She is scheduled to arrive at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal next Friday morning (August 23).
  14. Booking the planetarium is done using what they call "My Voyage" once you are on board the ship. It's sometimes referred to as an "app", but it's actually an intranet website you access via your device's browser. It's available via free access to the ship's wifi. My Voyage is also used for a variety of other on board services such as viewing your on board account and the online version of the daily programme, making dining reservations, purchasing internet access, etc.
  15. Very good estimates. This guy who has the itineraries for the current Cunard fleet stored in a spreadsheet has calculated the number of port days per year over the life of each ship including future published itineraries. I've counted cruise-by calls/canal transits as sea days and excluded all the days during the shutdown in operations as well as days spent in dry dock. These figures are rounded to the nearest whole day. QM2: 139 port days per year QV: 208 port days per year QE: 206 port days per year QA: 192 port days per year
  16. According to online itineraries posted on various cruise booking and travel agent websites, you are scheduled to arrive Copenhagen at 7:00am on August 21st and depart Copenhagen at 6:00pm on August 22nd. You are scheduled to arrive Rotterdam at 8:00am and depart at 11:59pm on August 26th according to those same online itineraries. Edit to add: To complete the timings, you are scheduled to arrive Skagen at 8:00am and depart at 7:00pm on August 23rd. For Oslo on August 24th, you are also scheduled to arrive at 8:00am and depart at 7:00pm
  17. The 2016 remastering of QM2 added 30 Britannia Club Balcony cabins on deck 13 and 15 Single Oceanview cabins on decks 2 and 3. That's an increase of 75 guests to her lower berth capacity. It should be noted that 30 Inside and Oceanview cabins that used to accommodate four passengers were restricted to double occupancy only. So by my calculations the 2016 remastering increased QM2's maximum passenger capacity by 15 guests.
  18. Perhaps it's time to let us know the answer to the question you posed almost two years ago now on the "Where in the World?" thread which no one attempted to answer then. What breed of dog is this? 😉
  19. The April 27, 2025 QM2 crossing is, I believe, the last instance where Cunard adjusted QM2's published schedules to avoid a conflict with MSC Meraviglia at Brooklyn. That crossing was originally scheduled as a 7-night crossing arriving at New York on Sunday, May 4, 2025. MSC Meravglia is scheduled to be at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal most Sundays including May 4, 2025. Cunard extended the April 27, 2025 crossing to 8 nights, adding a call at Le Havre, and it will now end at New York on Monday, May 5, 2025.
  20. For Hong Kong, Queen Anne is listed on the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal 2025 Ship Calls schedule for her scheduled call on March 18-19, 2025. That schedule is found at https://www.kaitakcruiseterminal.com.hk/schedule/2025-2/. By the way, she's also listed on the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal 2026 Ship Calls schedule for her scheduled call on February 26-27, 2026.
  21. No, I don't believe the benefits of the US "Grill Suite Offer" would be applied to an upgrade to a Griil Suite obtained from the upgrade bidding process. Here is a quote from the Terms and Conditions for the Cunard North America Upgrade Programme which would appear to apply to that situation. "4.7. If you booked your voyage in connection with any promotion offered by us that entitled you to certain benefits or onboard credit linked to a particular grade of stateroom, then those benefits or onboard credit will remain associated with the grade of your stateroom you selected at the time of booking. They will not be increased to reflect any upgrade you might obtain through the Programme."
  22. Log in to your booking in My Cunard. On the "Booking summary" page, there's a "Bed configuration" section where you can select either "King" or "Twin". If you find the bed configuration isn't what you want once you've boarded, ask your room steward to change the configuration. The king configuration can be divided into twins or twins can be joined together into a king.
  23. Yes, it's been reported on other social media by a guest on board that QM2 is diverting toward Nova Scotia for a medical emergency.
  24. Interesting marketing approach for Cunard. I have not received the email but there are equivalent "en-us" pages on the Cunard US website. Wouldn't you know one of the suggested three queens itineraries (for Aug-Sept 2026) only shows two of the queens (QV and QM2). It is supposed to include voyage H621A but that voyage is currently "Sold Out". It seems to me this would be more successful if they were to actually bundle the three suggested voyages into a package deal. There have been and will be several four queens package deals I've seen advertised by Australia travel agents (as @Victoria2 has alluded to).
