  1. Interesting. I’ve been on 8 cruises since the restart and except for the Harmony of Seas, where wifi did work, I like others posting here have not been able to use wifi calling on Carnival.
  2. I can't speak to how "new" the comp bottle of wine is on the first "elegant night", but we received the comp bottle of wine in the steakhouse on the first night of the cruise and first "elegant night" on our Alaska cruise last August and Horizon cruise a few months before that.
  3. When did Carnival start allowing wifi calling?
  4. I think I recall that after you mentioned it, fortunately we did not have any cruises booked then!! But since the issue I had we've had smooth purchases as well, including a few weeks a ago I purchased a number of cards to pay a cruise balance for our B2B this October...same thing...emails/ecards came within minutes...same for purchases we did back in May....Maybe they've "fixed" their issue.
  5. Hopefully all will flow normally. I do have one minor concern regarding AARP's payment process for gift cards. A few cruise back I purchased something like 4 - $500 cards and 2 - $100 from AARP. The 2 $100 cards came through fine, but not the $500 cards. I never got them. I used my bank card to pay for them, the charges were pending to my account, but never processed fully, some weirdness on their end they seemed to be aware of. The pending charges came off my account, but I had ended up purchasing 2 - $1000 cards from Allstate, so I guess I'll miss Allstate as sort of a fallback. Maybe the additional activity of AARP card purchases will help AARP straighten out whatever issue they had with their payment processing....hopefully.
  6. LOL!! Shoot, reading through this thread I feel...old or something or maybe I am..but whatever!!! We've been purchasing discounted gift cards from AARP for the last 3-4 years at least..maybe longer..pretty sure we got them before the pandemic. We did hook into Allstate also...I liked them because they offered $1000 cards which AARP is not currently. We've saved hundreds...maybe thousands...using the cards for a number of cruise balances...sign and sail accounts...funded CHEERs a handful of times..etc.....Sure hope AARP can handle the the onslaught of "new comers"!!!
  7. Very familiar with the gift card game, but we will use the OBC for sure. If there was an option to even the amounts between the 2 cruises, we'd have looked at it...but seems not...we're good.
  8. Hey...thanks for your responses and suggestions. When I submitted the OBC request to the shareholder folks...I submitted 2 emails, one with each booking number. As I mentioned it surprised me they sent the approval, and basically treated our B2B as a 14 day cruise and gave the $250 OBC. They also put $100 on the first cruise and $150 on the second. Since we had some OBC on the second, we thought if we could we'd move some back over to the first cruise. But, sounds like no movement allowed...not at all an issue...just thought I'd put it put there to see what others experienced. I think we'll be just fine. Thanks Again.
  9. We've booked our first "true" B2B cruises on Mardi Gras this October. We've done "B2B" before, but on different ships, even different ships on different cruise lines. Anyway, I submitted our stockholder benefit request the other day, and was sort of surprised they, gave us the 14 day $250 amount which they allocated between the two cruises. The second of the B2B cruises we had a bunch of OBC, not so much the first cruise. Has anyone moved OBC from one cruise to another, particularly the shareholder OBC?
  10. Cucina, Chibang and Guys P&A were open for lunch on Celebration a few weeks ago.
  11. For anyone that could stll be interested. Last month we completed our B2B from the RCI Harmony of the Seas followed with the Carnival Celebration. When we boarded the HOTS, we went to guest services as suggested and asked them about arranging transportation from the HOTS to the Celebration. Unfortunately they only provide transportation between cruises on Royal, so that was out. After we debarked the HOTS the morning of the Celebration embarkation, we jumped into the taxi line and with the help of a person directing pax to the taxi's waiting, she flagged a guy down, told him where to take us and what to do when he came back to the Royal terminal. Rather quick ride to terminal F and the Celebration. I don't think the cab driver ever actually gave us a fare. I handed him a twenty, asked if that was good, and he thanked me and away he went, and we headed to the Celebration. Walking just did not seem to be a safe and straight forward option. Way to much construction activity and traffic. But the cab ride was such an easy option, may not have walked even if there was a path.
  12. With the Venezia currently on it's maiden voyage, probably not to many pics are going to be available. However, you could try searching for pics from the Costa Venezia since it sailed under the Costa brand for a few years before Carnival took it over. Also, the Venezia is pretty much the same ship as the Carnival Vista, Horizon and Panorama, so the cabins layouts should be pretty close to the same as the Venezia. They look to be from what Carnival has on their website. Cabin 6207 does look fairly large with enough room for the scooters. We stayed in a similar cabin on another ship and it was very roomy. Looks like a roll in shower also.
  13. I certainly missed that…still very disappointed
  14. Hi...I'd like to squeeze in a question if I may. We just got off the Celebration this past Sunday, and now have a cruise booked on the Mardi Gras. We went twice to Chibang on Celebration, and very much enjoyed it. We even went....now get this...to Chibang on the second "elegant night"....you know...the one where they serve the...um....lobster. After ordering our dinners, our server asked if we'd like to have the lobster, the one they were serving in the MDR and we said sure!! He brought that...and just about every other item on the menu!! Thought that was very odd, but we enjoyed all of their offerings. All that said, my wife read..."somewhere" that now on Mardi Gras, your first visit to Chibang is still no charge, but any subsequent visits there'd be sort of a cover charge...8 dollars I recall her saying. Can you verify that? Thanks.
  15. Before he left for Venezia and Pride.
  16. No wonder Heald never answered my questions!! Very disappointing. Thanks.
  17. Hello...I've a question if you don't mind. Is the statue of David still in front of the steakhouse? I understand the steakhouse was rebranded to the Fahrenheit 555 name like other ships, I have a thought they may haven taken the opportunity to dump the David statue altogether.
  18. For anyone curious, I had the video call with my MD on a sea day during our Celebration sailing last week, and it went surprisingly well. I did bump my service from the value plan to the premium for the day. Even though the "setup and testing" for the call via my health providers app continued to "complain" about a weak internet connection all went well. Some video lag, but overall good performance and I accomplished what I needed to.
  19. As you had no, nor are you entitled to know the detail of what i was asking, I will still thank your for this completely and utterly useless reply.
  20. We may have seen something very similar yesterday. Back in February we purchased several gift cards from both Allstate and AARP to pay the balance of our Celebration cruise in 2 weeks. They were all ecards and one had a balance left. I didn't indicate properly the one that had the balance so started searching one card at a time. The one with the balance, showed the balance....All the others came up as invalid on different devices, browsers, os's etc. We figured the hell with it, got the one with the balance...rest don't matter as they paid the cruise...thought they shoulda shown a zero balance..but didn't matter.
  21. If memory serves, Celebration has the new, "upgraded" internet service, Starlink? We're on the Celebration starting May 20. I have a video appointment scheduled with my Dr. Nothing crucial, but if the internet service can handle it, I want to have the discussion. We've purchased the value internet package, but I've no issue upgrading for the day, if needed, assuming thats still an option. Just looking for input from anyone that has done any sort video conferencing, Zoom calls whatever onboard. Call is scheduled on one of our sea days heading back from our ABC cruise. Thanks.
  22. Indeed. Way back on one of our first cruises on the Pride, before the whiners started ruining the Pride, we were in line for our whatever set dining time. Heading into the MDR there was a larger mural, of a large breasted woman and little cherubs around. Two young boys, less than 10 yrs old I recall, walked up to the mural, reached up an "touched the woman's breast's" looked each other and one goes, I touched boobies!! Was hysterical at the time...folks in line chuckled, mom was probably mortified, but the MDR opened, everyone that saw went in chuckling a bit.
  23. Ok, thats what I was wondering, will we get a "thanks for playing, better luck next cruise" type of message saying no upgrade for you!
  24. The "is it worth it" question consistently comes up on these and other social media forums, which has spawned all of these detailed calculators, spreadsheets, and other assorted "tools" to determine the worth of the package. To us it's simple. Can we drink enough beverages across all of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings onboard to equal the per day cost of the package and we go from there. That said, one difference between RCI and Carnival is, Carnival has the 15 drink per day limit, but max drink cost of I believe $20 per drink. RCI has no per day drink limit, but a per drink cost limit of $14 I think. However RCI does a couple of things "better", like being able to use the drink package at their "private" spots like Coco Cay and Labadee. Also something trivial is RCI package covers "fresh squeezed" OJ at breakfast, which Carnival does not. I'm at least $10-12 into the per day cost just on OJ alone!!
