  1. They’re still enforcing arrival windows in Long Beach. When you arrive, there are multiple lines for the various arrival times, and everyone, diamond, platinum, suites and FTTF included, must get in the line for their arrival time. Once inside the terminal there are priority lines.
  2. I have found that on the newer ships I have been on, Horizon, Celebration and Panorama, the individual temperature controls in the cabins work quite well. Once you find your preferred temp, the cabin stays at that temp till you manually set it warmer or cooler. Not so much on Carnival’s older ships.
  3. Been there done that, in 1979 when the Seattle SuperSonics won the NBA title. Don’t need to do it again.
  4. This makes me glad we’re not staying in the heart of Barcelona pre-cruise. I’m not a soccer fan, and those crowds are something I would want to avoid.
  5. As mentioned above, this is a text service, no calls. It’s paid for after getting on the ship. Each person who wants to text pays the $5.00.
  6. There is a whole section about solo cruising on Cruise Critic. Lots of ideas there.
  7. I just completed on-line check-in as well. I’m sure looking forward to getting to Barcelona and getting on the Venezia!
  8. Call Special Needs Department at 1-800-438-6744,
  9. After trying many times to book this morning, I was able to book for the last night of the TA cruise.
  10. I really enjoyed the videos. I have never sailed Costa but have a cruise booked on Toscana next March. Thanks for the preview!
  11. There are lots of tables for two, and many of them have a decent amount of space between neighboring tables. We ate early, 5:30 - 6:00 and never had to wait very long for a table and usually got a good table. The ones on deck 4 by the rail overlooking the deck 3 dining room are really nice.
  12. I’ll be on the TA cruise May 29th and had originally booked Cucina for the last night. A couple of weeks ago, without any notification to me, the reservation was canceled/refunded. I’m keep a watch out for reservations to open for the new Italian restaurant that’s planned on Venezia.
  13. Correct. And the passport doesn’t need to be uploaded. They just need the passport number, dates of issue and expiration, and the government entity that issued the passport. Just enter that in the on-line check-in and you’re good to go.
  14. I recently scattered my brother’s ashes from the Panorama. I had a scattering tube which I carried in my carry-on bag. I didn’t want to trust putting it in my suitcase, in case the suitcase went astray. It required extra screening at the airport but not getting on the ship. I went to Guest Services when I got on the ship and they arranged a time for me and my sister to scatter our brother’s ashes at sea. They were very considerate and helpful, and they presented each of us with a beautiful padded folder with a picture of the ship and a certificate showing exactly where and at what time his remains were scattered.
  15. Even back when they had the book on board desk, I found it difficult to talk to anyone because they had limited hours, and even when they were open there was usually a line. It wasn’t worth it to me to wait in line when I could just book on the internet or call my PVP when I got home.
  16. This isn’t what happened to me in January on the Panorama. I am Diamond and was solo in my cabin. My sister is Red and was solo in the cabin next door. They would NOT let her board the tender with me. I had to wait and board with her.
  17. I have gotten an upgrade offer to OV every time I have had a 4J cabin like you have. It’s always a deck 1 or 2 OV, not worth switching from the 4J which has the window to the “secret” deck.
  18. I hope you’re right about that. I haven’t been notified and hope I’m “safe.” I do feel for those who have been canceled.
  19. We have a Terrazza Cabana booked for the Venezia TA, and I’m looking forward to the same type of experience you describe. I know Venezia doesn’t have a pool, and that’s fine with us.
  20. This does make sense, and it would explain why OV and interior cabins are being canceled, not just veranda cabins.
  21. This is the first explanation I have heard that makes any sense. I hope it’s true. Sorry you were canceled, but thanks for getting back to us. Maybe those of us booked in 2020 can finally breathe a sigh of relief…..maybe.
