  1. In addition to what has already been said, I would say that the Haven concierge works with your butler (and all positions) to make sure that you have a stellar experience. We were sitting in the Haven pool area and our butler had gone to get us hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries. I told him he didn’t have to that we could wait and he said “no no it’s only on deck six, I’ll be right back…” The concierge came by and saw us sitting there and asked what we were doing and I told him that we were hanging out that our butler was getting us food from deck six. He said “why deck six? He should get it from the Local because it’s on deck seven and it’s closer and it’s better; I will call him.” So, he called him and told him that …
  2. I posted this on my Bliss thread (as I am on it now) - the ONLY thing they are allowing reservations for are the comedy shows. Check the schedule as soon as you board because I completely missed that SIX was only on days one and two and I was planning on seeing it later, so I missed out. Also, if you take the Haven concierge escort they seat you on the left-hand side towards the front. For me that’s not necessarily the spot that I would choose. I prefer to sit in the middle and higher up. So once I figured that out, we opted to seat ourselves for the next show.
  3. We only had 3.5 hours in Victoria this evening, so we hopped off to get some Canadian treats and came back to the room to start packing. I stopped and picked up the envelopes to do my tips. Saw Jersey Boys today - WOW! What an incredible show. If it’s still going next time we sail, I’ll probably watch it each showing. We saw orcas when we left Seattle on day one, and we saw a ton of humpback whales today, and then a bunch of bald eagles in Alaska.
  4. The last supper …. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE the Haven and all its perks … but the stagnant Haven restaurant menu is underwhelming for us now - especially for lunch and dinner. I’m really glad we took advantage of that special to get (4) specialty dinners instead of just (2).
  5. It was about a half an hour before lunchtime and I really wanted a hotdog. They wouldn’t let us order off the pool menu yet. My butler saw us hanging out and asked what we wanted - and he got us a hotdog and fries and a hamburger and Coke… He was just amazing. He also brought us the MDR menus each day + desserts from the main dining room when requested, and when we couldn’t eat the desserts after Los Lobos, he brought those to our stateroom as well.
  6. Los Lobos - surprisingly ended up being our most favorite specialty restaurant.
  7. Yes – it’s not on the menu, but they have it if you ask for it.
  8. We were without internet service one day – the entire ship. I believe it was at Icy Strait … people were ticked. The concierge said “they are blocking our signal.” Last night the decks were all closed off because of the wind. And for a good 2+ hours the ship was really rockin’ and rollin’. Some of the worst that I’ve ever experienced actually. Today we are in Ketchikan. We are only here for about 5 hours. We are doing a trolley tour; we aren’t terribly adventurous folk. Though my husband (I mentioned he has stage IV cancer) is doing a lot of “YOLO” things lately and did the trams to the tops of mountains in Juneau and Icy Strait. Temps are around 50° everywhere; not bad (we’re from Idaho, so it feels like home). Three showings of Jersey Boys left so, we’ll have to catch it. The Beatles show was good - short, but good. The comedians were just alright.
  9. We did Cagney’s twice. Mostly great food, and really great service. (We had the au gratin potatoes twice and twice they were well under done.)
  10. Haven breakfast and main dining room potato skins - they have chili in them and they’re pretty tasty. FullSizeRender.MOV
  11. Partying all night, another towel animal, and middle of the night munchies. Our butler has been bringing us the menus from the main dining room where we have had him bring us desserts from as we do not care for the ones that are in the Haven restaurant.
  12. The pork belly appetizer in the Haven restaurant at dinner is so so good. And Haven fries any time …
  13. The Haven restaurant doesn’t really appeal to us for lunch. For us that’s a disadvantage of the Haven is that the menu doesn’t change. So, since we are down in the atrium midday often we have been using the main dining rooms for lunch. The food there has been inconsistent – but I do appreciate the variety. This soup for example was not good at all. It was basically broth with some noodles and raw vegetables for chicken noodle soup. The hush puppies were delicious. And I love their desserts. The service has been excellent there.
  14. The Haven is full. This ship has 2800 of 4000 aboard. NOTE that SIX is only on the first two days. I totally missed that and thought we could see it later in the week.
  15. My towel animal by request courtesy of our steward. Our butler keeps our refrigerator stocked with canned sodas, apple juice, pineapple juice, lemonade, and milk.
  16. We did Cagney’s for dinner - I have read a lot on the boards lately about Cagney‘s, but we enjoyed it – the service was excellent as was the food. Our appetizers were Caesar salad and French onion soup (both delicious) our mains were ribeyes that were incredible, however the potatoes au gratin were a little too firm. For dessert we had the raspberry crème brûlée (YUM), and another latte for me.
  17. We were in the atrium for games around lunchtime and decided to just eat at Savor for lunch. We both had the corn chowder, and it was good, and the chicken Parm – the noodles were dry but the chicken was delicious. We had the peanut butter cheesecake and the mocha pot de crème for dessert. (I prefer the variety of desserts offered elsewhere as opposed to the ones offered in the Haven reataurant.)
  18. Breakfast in the Haven restaurant - the grits were bland and flavorless; I chopped up my sausages, added butter, and asked for some shredded cheddar cheese to better them up. I did not know that the coffees that are under the Starbucks logo in the Haven restaurant (or anywhere else for that matter) are complementary. I enjoyed a latte with my breakfast.
