  1. UPDATE: I reached out to the Haven concierge email and they said they would contact the ship concierge and find out; but that butler assignments weren't made until the week of the sailing. I just heard back from them, who heard back from the ship and was informed that our requested butler is not on that ship at the moment. I understand they take x time off and can change ships, no questions there - I'm just pleased that they made the effort for us. But then they offered more - they asked me (before I asked them) about pillows and if we wanted anything else in the refrigerator (in addition to juices they offered iced tea and lemonade). My husband is a cancer patient and will need some assistance - just getting on and off the ship (too much of a walk for him, but he should otherwise be ok). They immediately put a note on the reservation, had someone else contact us and ask us for other assistance needs, and wanted to make sure that everything was taken care of and noted everywhere for the assist. I have been very impressed with the pre-sailing concierge service this time (I was last time too, just didn't need or ask for much though). We sail 3 weeks from today! 🎉
  2. I think I know the answer to this, but I'mma ask anyway ... could one email the pre-cruise Haven email people and request a particular butler? I imagine not because they are assigned areas/rooms .... anyone ever done that? My daughter and I adored the butler we had in March and I would love to have him again next month when my husband and I sail. Same deck, but on the other side.
  3. That is precisely the question I am going to ask. We are in a Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Large Balcony again this time but on the other side and I will find out what we have, if they all have the same, and if not, please tell me exactly what bed is in the former room number I had - lol
  4. Agree 100%. One lunch all I ordered was a plate of fries. They are SO GOOD!
  5. We did not purchase it because we were not certain which was the one I had on the cruise (there was more than one kind listed on the NCL bed shopping page). And, the shipping + the return fee (if it wasn’t the right one) were exorbitant - because it’s shipped from Italy. That said, we’re sailing the Bliss in the Haven again next month so I’m going to be able to first hand find out what kind of bed that is and if it still provides me that great back relief that it did last time we will definitely resurface the conversation of purchasing it.
  6. Excellent! Last time we went straight to the Haven restaurant (per your recommendation) because I didn't know about the American Diner. So, yes, complimentary, we'll give it a shot this time and then next we'll decide which spot to hit up first.
  7. RE: American Diner free for lunch until 3pm or something like that on embarkation day. It's free except for the milkshakes. Are the milkshakes good/big/worth it? Yes, I am sailing in the Haven and asking about something that only costs $5 - lol
  8. Sharing some of our recent (March 2022) Bliss Haven restaurant photos …
  9. Just saw @BennyBrun post a current (aboard the Bliss today) MDR menu. I would like all those desserts more than I would the ones in the Haven. Yup - definitely going to ask our butler if he can get some delivered to our room after (Haven) dinner.
  10. I just read on another thread that crew masks are no longer required; is that the case on your sailing? --- we're on this sailing October 15; the last one of the season. Looking forward to your report and photos, thank you!
  11. I think they like to know for planning purposes - our butler would ask the night before what time we would want morning coffee, confirming that we still wanted it at the same time.
  12. Sailed the Haven in March - felt no movement at all. We have sailed in rough seas before ... and this was nothing. Super smooth. I imagine it's one of those things though like where are you sailing and what time of year. Leaving Long Beach/San Pedro, there's a spot that always gets a little bumpy about 2 hours later - didn't even notice that this time.
  13. I love the $10 sales. I have boxes full of evening bags, scarves, purses, and costume jewelry that I buy for gifts … and never gift. 🤦🏽‍♀️
  14. We did the same on the Bliss earlier this year. Asked and received; no issue.
  15. We do the letter to our butler (as @Sthrngarysuggested) on day 1 which includes our snack preferences for afternoon and nighttime; our butler always exceeded our expectations with that!
  16. We ain't rich - even though we have sailed the Haven once and coming up again in 52 days (no, we aren't counting down excited or anything 🙌). And maybe it's because we're not rich that it doesn't take much to impress us - lol I am however going to steal the idea of asking our butler to bring us an appetizer or a dessert from the MDR - (to our room, with advance notice early in the day/once we see the menu). We are foodies and I am not overly interested in the desserts in the Haven restaurant. I'll do the cheesecake and maybe the chocolate cake (on separate occasions, of course) but, there may be something in the MDR that I would love instead.
  17. I heard that some sailings were bypassing Skagway due to rockslides. From what I read online, it's not all berths that cannot be accessed. I've heard that some recent NCL sailings were sent to Icy Point or Sitka instead .... and now I'm reading that some ships (did not mention NCL) are going to a place called Hoonah. We set sail October 15 and have a train ride excursion in Skagway that my husband was really looking forward to. Just wondering if there's any chance of that still happening. If it matters - our sailing is NCL's last one to Alaska of the season, so there may be less ships there.
  18. Can you get the ADA room? We had the Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Large Balcony (ADA) when we sailed in March. The shower and the tub were completely separate and the walk-in shower was good size with the pull down bench to sit and shower. It was also close to the Haven entrance and to the entrance to the Haven lounge where the bar, concierge and elevator to the restaurant are. I wanted to get that room again, but it was booked for our next sailing. There is a little bit of a walk through the pool area to get to the Haven observation lounge (it has a name, but it's escaping me right now) though not too far at all. Any time we do the Haven again, I want to try for that same room ...
  19. I am not a fan of La Cucina ... however, when my husband and I sail together, that is one of the specialty restaurants that we do (his choice, not mine) and we always get the Meat Lovers pizza. He eats some at dinner and then we take the rest to the room for later; it looks good - and it is one of his favorite things to eat onboard.
