  1. Thank you - our sentiments exactly. THEY 👏 GAVE 👏 US 👏 A 👏DECK 👏 OF 👏 CARDS "for any inconvenience this may have caused." - though they gave it to us with a nice letter. 🙄 (the claps are what the kids use on social media for separate word emphasis - lol)
  2. Yes, but the commenter sounded as if they were seeing them right now before being on a ship, so I was wondering how.
  3. Oh yes, I know - but it sounded like the commenter was seeing them now prior to being on ship, so I wondered if they were posted somewhere as I had never seen the on the NCL site.
  4. May I ask where you saw the MDR menus? We couldn't find a place to see them while we were on our cruise, and as I had mentioned on another thread, I got sick of the Haven menu for dinner and knowing what they were serving in the MDR could have gotten us to eat there. However, now knowing that it's possible to get something in the Haven restaurant from the MDR (request, and with notice and be ok if they cannot do it for some reason) that makes for another good option.
  5. Oh, it was a nightmare. He was planning to take them in the morning, but we didn't order in-room breakfast that morning. So, we left for breakfast --- his bed (the couch) had just one flat sheet on it and the pill bottles were on it ---- you could not miss them, large orange bottles with blue tops ---- and when we returned, they were gone. (We usually keep meds put away/hidden .... and, our steward normally did not come that early in the morning ... but perhaps caught us leaving and thought they could get in earlier that usual.) It was a BIG deal. They searched laundry bags and down in the laundry, etc. to no avail. They offered us a deck of playing cards for the inconvenience ... 🤦‍♀️
  6. YES! We looooove our cruise naps. We work a lot in our normal day-to-day that a couple-few hour nap on a cruise is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. We may be getting old (early 50s), but to each their own.
  7. Great post, @Sthrngary - I always appreciate your insight and expertise. When I have read about things (perks) I think to myself and tell my family something like "I heard we may get this ... " or "they may do xxx for us, we'll have to ask ...." and we've never been disappointed. We expect to sail, relax, and be fed - that's it. Beyond that - (whether Haven or not) - we appreciate and enjoy. Very few experiences have left us upset. i.e. when we sailed another cruise line and our room steward discarded all my son's prescription medications ... and, he was sleeping on a bed that was broken. But by and large our expectations are low and the come-through is high. We're on a ship; yippeeeee! 🥳
  8. I do like the idea of asking the butler to secure us a copy of the MDR menu; or get it from the concierge if that's not something butler is able to assist with. I read above that you can get other specialty restaurant food in the Haven restaurant as you said - (with notice) - however, we already have specialty nights that we paid for and I don't want to pay for more. I may be in the Haven, but I ain't rich! 🤑
  9. Back to the actual topic of this thread … I got bored with the Haven restaurant menu the one time we sailed in it. Why can’t they have a feature or a special whatever each night? On a night when I didn’t want anything on their menu, and didn’t have a speciality reservation, I thought about going to one of the MDRs, but their menus weren’t posted in the app and I wasn’t trying to walk all the way down there to not want anything from there either. (Not lazy, well, sorta, but we have mobility challenges.)
  10. Die Hard IS a Christmas movie and so is Love Actually. - I keep checking this thread and all the gambling stuff has me checked out. Movie chat I can get down with! 🥳
  11. We were on the Bliss in March -- I paid $65 for Deal or No Deal .... I can't remember how many cards that gave me; more than one - so, 2-3. It was my first time playing it and it wasn't very fun for me because it's all automated so you don't even have to follow along - they'll tell you if you are in the running or not. I imagine it'd be just as fun to not pay and sit there and play along with the one person who is up there as the actual contestant which is what I will likely do when we sail the Bliss again in October.
  12. My first thought was heck yeah - change! But $10k more? Oof. I mean, if you've won the lottery or money is no option, heck yeah. But dang, that's a lot. We sailed in an aft facing Haven with large balcony in the spring and have one coming up in 62 days (but who's counting, right?) and it - and the "royal treatment" were niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice (to us, I know some people don't care about that, and/or get the same service elsewhere, etc. etc., but we enjoyed it). We also enjoyed the extra balcony space to lounge and set up tables of food ... it was nice, for sure - and we spent a lot of time out there. I would or could never spend that much to switch to the Haven. A couple grand or a hot deal, yes - but not $10k. But if you choose to, yay you! and if you don't, you'll have a glorious sailing anyway!
  13. We sailed Haven on the Bliss in March and then coming up again in October. It was wonderful -- beautiful ship (and all things Haven) and wonderful staff and food as the OP said.
  14. My husband was the primary, and then he got cancer and couldn't sail with us in March. We called NCL and talked to a great agent who shuffled things around; we didn't lose much (a lot of it was credit from COVID-cancelled cruises anyway). Just call them and tell them the situation and they'll figure it out for you.
  15. We sailed the Mexican Riviera this past March - it was high 70s to low 80s; just perfect for me. Mazatlán was the highest - I think it got to 85 - we got sunburnt.
  16. Please report back after your sailing - - we are on the Bliss in October; would love to know!
  17. This is welcome news for u So funny! - I'm the exact same ... love love love Coke ..... will never drink Pepsi but for the diet ones it's always Pepsi over Coke. This is a welcome change for us - though bummer about them not having Coke Zero as that is my husband's fave.
  18. We were on the Bliss, so, those were not my monsters - lol Not offended at all! I know how kids can be - and I know mine are far from perfect (despite my perfect parenting - haaaaaaaaaaaa!). 🙃
  19. I sailed with my daughter at spring break. She was 17 at the time and spent evenings in Entourage. It closed at ... midnight? - not sure, can't remember now, but it closed at the same time that curfew started. (Just walking from Entourage to their cabins had them all violating curfew.) However, teens being teens, they were all hungry when they left, so they would hit up the Local for some food and then were told they couldn't eat it there because it was past curfew. So, they would take their food and go find some stairs to sit and eat on. My apologies on behalf of all monsters (Haven and non-Haven) and their parents. 😆 (Sidenote: they were followed by security nearly the entire time, so, I'm hopeful that hogging the stairs was their only offense and given the time of night hope it didn't inconvenience too many.) She's 18 now, and my son is 20, so we won't have to worry about curfew rules anymore, but I'm sure there are other things to worry about when cruising with youngbloods ... 🤔
  20. The equivalent of $3+ USD is what we tip room service for the complimentary breakfast.
  21. The literal only reason we went to an art auction once was because we had an open window of time ... and got free champagne ... and a free piece of art --- which was a Disney photo on cardstock so we framed it and re-gifted it.
  22. The only tried it and never want to go back for us is a balcony. Once we had one of those going to Hawaii, it was hard to go back to not having one. So, that's a dealmaker for us - got to have the balcony.
  23. We aren't typical Haven cruisers in that we've done it once, and we're doing it again, but it will not be an on-going thing unless we win the lottery .... our cruising experience has been and will likely always be mostly non-Haven. So, knowing what it's like on both sides of that keycard glass door I don't look down on anyone or believe the people on one side or the other of it are any better or less than another.
  24. I too am seeing a lot of negativity for the Haven/guests - not just on this thread, but many. We just sailed in it for the first time in March - and loved it. For me, "the luxury fuss" was worth it. Perhaps for others it's not. And that's ok. We're all different; no need to poop on someone else's parade.
