  1. San Francisco is a little further away than Los Angeles to Hawaii. Will the extra days be sea days or an extra port? Also, it’s a long run from Ensenada (PVSA)….at least 2 sea days.
  2. @caribillMay I print this (request for laundry tokens) out with your name and show it to Customer Service Agents for my free tokens? I would like to believe they have secretly added this perk.
  3. Wash your mouth....The Grand is NOT leaving the fleet.....please. Yes, I am also very confused. It sounds like OP was on the Crown. But it takes 15 days to go to Hawaii and back. How does Mexico fit in? That's another week long itinerary.
  4. In less than a month. I won't miss the coffee card (this time). It is port intensive so no time to imbibe. I have lots of obc. If not resolved, no problems for me. Thanks for your attentiveness. I just wish Princess would be consistent across the board....AND have their policies match their actions. Too much to ask for?
  5. @Steelers36 I understand what we could swap before (10 liquors/10 non-alcoholic/mix and match). It's the "new" rules that I would like clarification on: 1. OBC for mini-bar 2. Coffee card for mini-bar 3. Do we have a choice on what sodas or randomly selected by room service? 4. Can you only trade it all for water. 5. $40 credit for a bottle of wine. It seems as though there is a lot of confusion and inconsistency amongst the fleet (oh what a surprise!). Too much to sort through. These are the "facts" floating around. I thought it would be helpful if passengers currently sailing if they would share which ship you can do what. I have 2 cruises booked WITHOUT a beverage package. Just planning ahead on what I need to do to "prepare" for my cruises.
  6. I could go for that. I wonder if enough of us make this request....
  7. As @SCX22mentioned, this has been an odd year for weather. AND it is an El Niña pattern. It is a little too far out to predict any weather, but next week is supposed to have an Atmospheric River approaching CA (San Francisco) from the islands. This week, there are thunderstorms happening on all the islands. That's also a little unusual. "We" have had a good amount of rain, but still in a drought since rain isn't occurring over all islands. Sort of here and there. Plus. most of our portable water comes from our Artesian Wells. It takes 7 years to percolate through the porous Lava Beds into our wells. You CAN expect it to be cold for your first 2 days out and back. Even the kama'aina are calling it "cold" when it dips below 70 degrees. Take a windbreaker, something for rain (umbrella, jacket), and dress in layers. All this means is that you will have beautiful rainbows (anuenue). It is raining in Honolulu today.
  8. Thank you for posting, but I am looking for empirical data. I know what WAS available. I am seeking out what IS currently happening on specific ships.
  9. I can't keep everything straight in my head anymore. Too many factors. So lets start a list (I am a list person). Post 2/20/23 Not to be inclusive, but trying to keep the clutter from my brain. Please leave out what happened before. Real time please. Forgive me: who/whom https://www.wm.edu/as/wrc/newresources/handouts/who-vs-whom.pdf Ship / who to call / What are you allowed to swap out?
  10. I would never be taken hostage to buy “other” package. I’m not a drinker and will pay Ala carte with obc.
  11. You deserve an A+ for your diligence and perseverance. I never use red for grading. Thank you so very much for enlightening all of us.
  12. Thank you. My daughter is a university professor. One of the first lessons she assigns her students is to find primary sources. Most come back with wikipedia....which is a collaboration of just anyone's additions. So I stay away from quoting anything from wikipedia. But I appreciate you taking the time to jog my memory.
  13. Why? Why? Why? would anyone buy a Plus Beverage Package? I've written this before. Princess needs to create an English Composition Department. They really are out to confuse everyone.
  14. @AZjohn. You are not alone. I had the same misconception until others set me straight.
  15. These numbers do surprise me. I would have guessed there would be more experienced cruisers since it is a TransPacific. I am wondering what the next few breakdowns will look like? If you happen to stop by the office again..and ask what the percentage of Japanese/Americans/Others.
  16. [$35.39 + 18% ($6.37)] + internet + crew appreciation = ($41.78) + $15 + $16 (or $17 or $18) ($41.78) + $7.50 + 16 (or $17 or $18) if you are elite. Might was well buy the $60 package and get the desserts.
  17. That's a bummer. It's not raining keeping you out. Must be the 15 to 20 mph wind. It's a tricky port to begin with. Day 2 Honolulu....get on Da Bus and ride around the complete island for $1.50. Well, mostly around the island, skipping West Oahu. Walk up to Foster Botanical Gardens (downtown HNL). On the way back, lunch at Zippy's (chili) or Dim Sum at Mei Sum Chinatown. Be careful in Chinatown. There are some very unsavory houseless people. Spend your time near City Hall (Honolulu Hale). (all within walking distance) Mission Houses Iolani Palace and Palace grounds (I believe archives for Palace is free) State Capitol State Archives Beautiful Public Library Kawaiahaʻo Church YWCA King Kamehameha Statue Old Federal Building Washington Place/Governor's House Saint Andrew's Church Factory tour of Kamaka Ukulele (the best in the islands) http://kamakahawaii.com/contact/contact-us.html State Capitol has 7 palm trees for all the islands Pond surrounding (out of commission I think) represents the ocean. Stand in the middle and look up...Volcano (origin of islands) One chamber has the moon lights/Other chamber has the sun Father Damien Statue Aquarius mosaic in the middle was created by Duane Pebbles Free WiFi
  18. If you sail in a suite as an elite, there really are very few benefits that are NOT $$$ related. Suite/Elite: 2 mini bars for being in a suite, regardless of how many passengers are elite Laundry: Free express laundry for suite/regular 3-4 laundry if you are not in a suite. Tendering: Supposedly priority boarding for either/maybe Embarkation: Supposedly priority boarding for either/maybe Amenities: Maybe/not so in recent days/reduced Happy Hour: Suite/Elite/Platinum As an elite: you now get $ off regular priced items, excursions, wifi I agree with @AE_Collector. If you are going to return any of the top end benefits, bring back the loyalty credits. Maybe then, I could afford to buy my coffee ala carte.
  19. It might depend on the ship/voyage. Somewhere, I read, that Japan has set an occupancy percent. The Diamond may be trying to fill guarantees and not taking any more bookings. I really need to start writing down these "findings".
  20. I am not a trivia person. I harbor factoids. I do not retain information that I deem not important. On the other hand, this must have been important to Princess to name the daily events for Patricia for years.
  21. You are almost (t)here. Good thing you are skipping Hilo (usually first port/now last port). Parts of Hawaii Island are under a flood watch. Wonder now that will affect the oceans and other islands.
  22. The Patter was name after someone named Patricia. Trivia from a Captain Circle Party. Don’t recall what her importance was, but she may have BEEN someone special. So they’ve taken away their namesake. How sad and disrespectful.
  23. You are both correct. Princess’ inconsistency at its best. I have heard of this happening. I would guess Princess would err in their favor, if it was caught. Different last names Different addresses Different Captain Circle numbers Maybe yes, maybe no
  24. BTW, the medallion fits in an air tag holder. But an air tag will not fit inside a Precess accessory.
