  1. I am so over my head. It is working 80% of the time. I will take that as an improvement (without me modifying any settings). But I will take all of these suggestions to heart when I have a load of time to work with my son-in-law...remotely. He says we "can make time to screen share). Wish they lived closer. I was hoping this would be a real quick and easy fix....or that it wasn't my problem but Princess. Thanks again @AlpacaBag for all of your suggestions.
  2. After thought. Frontier sent me a new modem a couple of months ago but I never had time to set it up. Would that "solve" the corruption problem? Same other problem. Set up new modem....change/reconnect all of my devices (Alexa/firestick, etc).
  3. Would changing these settings interfere with my connections to Alexa, fire stick, and all the other smart devices I have in my home?
  4. Wow, I haven't dealt with a tour company that wanted that much in US cash. Interesting.
  5. The best way to experience Japan is to do your homework. Most ports that Princess docks are are far away from the main city/town. Often, Princess will provide a shuttle for a fee or catch a taxi if you have a few people. Be sure to have a translator app. Many taxi drivers do not speak English. I generally have hard copies of where I want to be dropped off and a photo of the ship so that I can be returned. https://www.mlit.go.jp/kankocho/cruise/detail/091/index.html
  6. That's Greek to me...TTL? Thank you to those still trying to help me out. I'm willing to try anything (within my capabilities) to get this resolved. I don't mind the time outs, as long as I can eventually get in. It shouldn't be this frustrating though. Planning for cruising should be enjoyable.
  7. Another day...just like the weather: Wait until tomorrow. (adapted from Mark Twain) I didn't do anything differently, but had no problems accessing Princess today. I did have to prompt the address bar a couple of extra times, but fare quotes came up AND I was able to get into my account. sigh
  8. Do not attach them before flying. Bring a stapler or duck tape.
  9. I always travel with my cruise tag holders attached to my luggage (without Princess inserts). Be sure they are folded a little smaller than instructed. Slip them into the holder as soon as you pull your luggage from the carousel. I love my holders with metal rings. But they are difficult to put on/take off with arthritic fingers. So they stay on. Also...hint...color the screw end (or other end) so that you can "see" that you are moving in the correct direction.
  10. I have been a victim of Identity Theft. I am very careful who gets what information. Why is it mandatory for Princess to force us into giving our financial information to a place I will not patronize? It should be an optional sign up. It was before. You are correct. Princess has access to our information. Doesn’t mean that I have to like that.
  11. Didn't log in. Search cruises to pull up EZ Air quotes. First attempt, got as far as being able to pull up cruise...then bumped off. Hit address bar again to refresh. This message popped up. Repeat refresh Finally got in on 5th try. All the way to choosing flights and getting quotes on my computer. I need to apologize to Princess.com. They may have been the initial culprit, but Frontier DSL has replaced them as the scalawag.
  12. Not the first time she has done this (incorrect information).
  13. Now, you are speaking in language that I can understand. Thanks for the story. Yes, I do get a lot of "timed out" error messages. And not just for Princess. If I click on the browser search address bar again, that usually "fixes" the problem, except for Princess. Apple did mention that my devices are more simplistic and "should" work better than trying to access Princess through my computer. Apps for devices are programmed differently for the lack of chip space. (that I understood)
  14. DNS is 192. Sonoma 14.2.1 (operating system) All the rest is Greek to me. I am not sure SIL will be able to "fix" Frontier since he is in another state and the computer will work fine on his super fast internet when I get there. No way to connect computer to Ethernet here. All wireless. Thank you so very much to you both for providing information (that is way above my comprehension) but reassuring that it is not me. I will copy and send email to SIL. And you are absolutely correct. Frontier is not supporting DSL and will not improve service in my area.
  15. I can only relay information that is passed on to me first hand. I see no reason why I would be mislead. I am not here is dispute what is or is not.
  16. On my last cruise, I was told by the wait staff and assistant manager that they were tested weekly since I was concerned for their exposure at out table. I have left covid tests for crew who seemed happy to receive them.
  17. You are so kind to try to help someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I know this will be difficult to "fix" remotely. My fall back is to have my son-in-law or daughter take a look when I visit later. This is not life-threatening...just annoying. Doesn't work on Safari nor Chrome. Don't know what Private Realy from iCloud+ is. Must not be using it since I haven't had problems in the past and don't rely on iCloud at all for back up. As in Frontier Communications? I have no other viable choice. Not using a VPN. I found DNS code, but not comfortable sharing that on the internet (paranoid). I am connected. I can do most everything on my computer, ipad, iphone, except connect with Princess. Sometimes I have to double click to get the page moving/to load. DSL...really slow. Don't think I have an strange security settings. I had Apple Genius check that yesterday. Yes, Firewall is on.
  18. Bottom line, yes EZ Air will get you home. It may require you to be more pro-active than you would have liked to be involved. Do you have Princess Insurance (it would have covered EZ Air and cruise)? I had this fear before I left from my cruise (returning flight cancelled). It took me weeks to get it resolved. Then the times were not convenient: late departure/late arrival/short connection time. I called multiple times to ask if they would put me up for the night if I missed my connection. They really didn't want to commit to that and told me I would make it. Read your contract...it does state that they will get you home. Be happy it is at the end of your cruise. I know, not the kind of stress you need right now.
  19. Please - reaching out to all those tech savvy individuals. I am at such a loss and struggling to understand how this can happen to me. I've used the process of elimination to narrow down who is at fault. For the longest time, I was blaming Princess (they did have technical difficulties, but after 3 weeks, I decided I needed to further investigate why I am unable to connect to Princess' website. Scenarios: Error Messages to log in (I can do this now). I can sometimes see my account and bookings / intermittent At times I can actually get in to bookings. Searching for cruises is not fun when you get so far and then the site stalls. Totally not able to get into EZ Air with or without logging in from my home computer. Ran some tests. I could log in and search EZ Air from the Apple Store, from my doctor's office, from cellular service on my phone (but not via wifi). Cleared History. Cleared cache. Turned off computer. Updated operating system. Finally, in desperation, called my internet provider. All is good with service. BUT sometimes, "provider does not support website". Huh...how does that happen? Chatting with my IT son-in-law. He is willing to do screen sharing with me to see exactly what is going on. Decided it wasn't that critical, yet. It can wait until my next visit. I have a Mac. It is so frustrating, especially if I want to check to see if my EZ Air fare has dropped. Did call them today and had the most pleasant agent (after holding and being disconnected once). SOS...help...kokua...Am I doing something wrong? Is it my equipment. Has this happened to anyone else?
  20. I had no choice. The main reason for the cruise was an excursion to Williamsburg, VA (bucket list). I knew the risks. As for Fuerte Amador, I found a terrific small van that took me from coast to coast in the day. It was fabulous. Can't remember the vendor. The risk was there...we were on one of the last tenders due to traffic.
  21. If you are adventurous, this is a good cruise for. you. I wanted to see the Cherry Blossoms in the spring. Did not disappoint. I didn't need to see temples and shrines. Explored each city on my own. The Japanese are very friendly and there (literally) at every tourist corner. You will have to do a lot of research if you do it your own. Food is great. Exchange rate was fantastic. (Fresh) Sashimi at every port!
  22. The ship can only do so much. The crew is tested every week. Most passengers are not wearing masks. I did, but not as diligently as I normally do. Caught covid (I'm sure...on an excursion bus at the beginning of the cruise). On another cruise (post covid but without newest booster), did not catch covid although both of our table mates (breakfast, lunch, dinner) came down with covid. I'm sure I had lots of antibodies. Cabin mate did not catch covid (boosted). You need to assess your risk factor. I'm not stopping cruising....Hopefully Princess will continue to cover costs.
  23. I'm not a drinker. It wasn't a hardship. But I was taking medication that also recommended no alcohol (reinforced by medical staff and literature). I didn't miss the drinks.
  24. I was reimbursed 100% for my daily cruise fare x 2 plus $28 for “required” medical records to file my claims. i was very pleased with my situation since I “missed” a sea day and a port I returned to in a few months. All meals and drinks were provided through room service. I had the drink package but medical recommended no alcohol. So got bottles of water, soda, and even specialty coffees.
