  1. I had PVP and caught Covid on July 30th (longer than 7 day cruise). Isolated in a separate cabin from cabin mate for 2 nights (Covid verified by medical center 3 days after symptom onset). All of my needs were taken care of and all expenses reimbursed through secondary insurance and AON. Cash not FCC.
  2. Still waiting to hear a “success” story. Thank you very much for taking the time to detail your ordeal. The cancellation policy is similar to time share rules. You have x number of days to cancel. I bought into a lovely time share property New Orleans. I was so proud of myself. I shared this with my father. He quickly chastised me and told me to get right back down there and cancel. That was an extremely painful process, but I was able to cancel my contract. With a few years, Hurricane Katrina hit the area. Princess should be ashamed of themselves in getting involved and allowing this “promotion” to continue. Maybe it’s time for a class action suit to stop Princess from selling these “too good to be true” offers.
  3. $24.99 new internet price. Half price for elite and platinum is $12.50. So when will Princess discount $60 Plus package by $12.50 per day? I’ll even take Plus for $50 pp/pd with all the bells and whistles. And, I think, I heard a YouTuber say that HAL is raising crew appreciation. Will Princess follow suit? Not holding my breath, but I’m betting that the Beverage all inclusive will raise sometime this year.
  4. Princess will not ship them out individually, at different times. You could order it to your destination; if in the US/Canada (hotel/someone else's home, etc)
  5. My friend purchased insurance from Princess and an additional independent company since friend only has Medicare that doesn't cover outside of the country. When she submitted a claim through the third party (not Medicare/not Princess), she was only reimbursed the difference between what OBC covered and what she was charged. Was told that since Princess used OBC first, friend only had $xxx out of pocket. She did not attempt to claim Princess first. And did not try to resubmit claim to AON. I on the other hand, filed through medicare, my secondary insurance, and then AON. Medicare denied (out of country), secondary paid 100% medical costs, and AON (Princess) paid for my $28 medical history record. When looking into an outside plan, be sure it covers "cancel for any reason". Age also plays a factor.
  6. I feel for your parents. Princess Promotions has been around for a while now. Yet, not much is mentioned (pros/cons) on Cruise Critic. I am still waiting to hear from those folks who were able to take advantage of all the great offerings. But no reports. Good luck to your parents. Amazing, I get the same message from Princess agents. IT knows, is working on it, but don't know when it will be fixed. In the meantime, I am unable to do simple searches on their website.
  7. So far (my issues with new app): Can't order medallion without being charged $10 for shipping when I have the Plus Package. Can't remove orders that I clicked on without having to call Princess and have them order it, then cancel the order (to reset ordering form). Can't make specialty dining reservations far out. App takes a long time to open Defaults to using credit card on file to "register" for shoreside. If you don't do this step, you are returned to 6/7 completed. Defaults to shoreside. No way to avoid this. You would think you would have to OPT ...in Stock Perks (not part of app...but maybe it should have been) is complicated and intrusive. Other than that...it's working fine (lol)
  8. I had thought about that but was unwilling to lose money for Princess. I knew I had an unspent class action suite claim digital card somewhere in the house. It took me a full day, but I found it. It worked. Now, will it work for my cabin mate? Will I be able to use this registered card on my account to list it on hers?
  9. I prefer the smaller class ships personally. The Royal Class ships have new bells and whistles, but missing too many of the spaces I enjoy on the Caribbean Princess. This may not be the ship for you. This may not be the cruise line for you. There are many options out there. I hope you find a good fit for you. BTW, I've been on many Princess cruises and have had excellent crew interactions. Can't say the same for some other lines.
  10. Will you also be consuming: water in a bottle? specialty coffees? non-alcoholic drinks? specialty desserts? Gym classes? If I were cruising solo, I would purchase the plus package just to have virgin margaritas. Two BEVERAGES a day will make this plus package worth while.
  11. I just went through this agonizing process. I have plus 60. Tried to order my medallion. Got all the way through. Zeros in display. Until last page, $10 for shipping. NO where on the app could I cancel. Please call. So I called...3 different times. Long Story I won't bore you. Last agent was able to work around "glitch". The only way to empty the cart was to call...have them order it and cancel. No way I could remove medallions or cancel order. This last agent has worked with Princess for a year. But he was able to fix it for me. Ordered it through my cabin mate. No shipping charge. But sent to me. Go figure. To add injury to insult, my friend on a different cruise (with an Android), could remove and/or cancel order. But her roommate who tried to order hers first....was charged. Friend had to "fix" order.
  12. Exactly. I travel with my newbie (older) sister. We tried the lanyard way. It was just one more item to check off as we left the cabin. You know the routine: phone, hearing aids, mask, glasses, medallion, etc. She always wore her watch. Made getting on and off the ship a breeze! No more digging through her backpack for the lanyard. I have a few more gizmos that have clips on one end for the medallion/holder and something on the other end that attaches to your garment. But the watch attachment simplified the process. Mahalo to @Elua for sharing this idea with me.
  13. I asked the customer service agent on the Diamond, politely, in March 2023. He asked me how many tokens I would like. Ironically, the washer was broken (needed one more) and the dryer took forever (4 needed). I did declare I was elite (he never checked).

  16. Suite laundry: In by 9 AM returned after dinner same day (express). It is safer to leave your laundry bag on the bed before you head for dinner. On occasions, my steward had not picked up the bag in my room/by my door, and deliver to laundry before 9 AM if I left it out the same day. Once, steward did not notice Express box checked. It was placed in the regular laundry bin.

  18. The old app is already not functioning for certain sections. I only uploaded new app to my ipad. Old app on phone is a hit and miss (lots of misses). No worries, cruise is not for a few more months....right ? # !
  19. At one time, it was the Emerald, then the Crown, or the Ruby, or the Grand/Diamond. Pick your ship and someone will have negative reviews about it: Noro, Covid, buffet, etc. (I can't speak for Royal class ships since I won't book them). I have been on the Caribbean Princess twice in 2023. I did catch covid over a 13 day cruise (expected over longer cruises). My fault for being more lacks with my masking. Still, all went well. Princess has no responsibility for missing ports due to weather. I was once on a ship that missed ever port and replaced it with one that I did not even get off the ship (San Diego) on a 4 day cruise. If you have trepidations regarding cruising on the CP again, I would look for a different ship/cruise line.
  20. Amendment: I want to thank the poster that recommended using a pre-paid card. I have been searching my home for such a card. Finally found a digital one for $5. Applied it to my shoreside account. Accepted and still 7 out of 7. Brilliant.
  21. Caved....and re-authorized credit card on Shoreside purchases. Back to 7 out of 7 steps completed. Medallion order still in place. This is so insane !
  22. Accomplished. Credit card deleted from shoreside. Casualty….dropped from 7 to 6 steps completed. Now what? My Medallion won’t be shipped? I will be denied boarding?
  23. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Unfortunately, Princess does not offer a “captains table dinner”. The Sky Princess has a few alternative (for $) dining options.
  24. I agree, I am totally confused about shoreside. Am I automatically enrolled or do I have to hit the + button? Is there anyway to undo linking it to shoreside? Or is this a “glitch”?
  25. Go ahead and make reservations for 4. When you get onboard, add the fifth person. I, once was added at the door. it is an accounting issue if you are trying to use complimentary dining for a different use. Depending on who you talk to, “favors” may be rarely granted.
