Go the first night. Don't blow it off, don't think you can wing it. Just go that first night, any concern or question is covered. They do it every single week.

I'm sorry, I do not. Make sure you get the body scrub to use in your cabin

The little sandbars to the far right is what is now PortMiami, next to that is Government Cut, which is what the ships sail out of. The two islands is Palm and Hibiscus....Hibiscus is the least developed of the two. That long single island is Star Island, and that's where the stars would buy homes, like Al Capone, Gloria Estefan (Queen Gloria of Miami), The Bee-Gees, Vanilla Ice, etc.... The other undeveloped islands is the Venetian Causeway That weird kink in the road way by the port, that is what will become Watson Island and the home of Chalks Airlines (Seaplanes) and even the Goodyear blimp for a time. It now has that children's museum and on other side is now Parrot Jungle (under some new name) To the bottom, that is what WAS the port of Miami, but is now Bayside Marketplace. Between those two causeways heading east to the beach, on the other side from the old port, is where Miami Arena sits today, where the Miami Heat plays

Wife and I did Horizon about 18 months ago, right after they returned to sailing. We had a spa balcony. We both loved that ship. Nice layout, good size, not too much. After just doing a week on Celebration, and thinking back, I think we actually preferred Horizon over Celebration. Both have great points. If I was on a 14-day+, Celebration all the way. On a 7-day, totally good with Horizon and Vista class

No more credit given to PVPs for “on hold” cruises
EngIceDave replied to audcc77's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
No idea who my PVP is, I do it all myself. Being super OCD, I do a bunch of research and listen to the crazy people on Cruise Critic in advance. I just look at the offers and go from there. Mine are all casino offers, so not like I get a ton of choices, mostly location only. -
The Serenity deck above the spa is nice. On sea days they have the salad bar as well

Best Carnival value youve booked?
EngIceDave replied to havanadaydreaming's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Had that booked originally, then daughter announces new Gbaby arriving a month prior to that cruise. No way was Grandma going on a cruise with a fresh baby around, -
I know, silly question, but what channels are on the TV's when starting at overseas ports, like in Europe or Australia? Same as the cruises out of Miami? Real question is more about Luminosa or Carnival's Australian ships. Want to have some idea what kind of TV and/or news (taped or whatever) they might have onboard during trans-pacific voyages. What's on for Trans-atlantic ones? Lot of slow days, so want to know what's on

Sometimes I think that while Carnival a the family cruise, kids still are a minority and people forget that. My wife asked at the kids camp about better kiddie food options and got the total 411

"Your Time Dining" does not mean "Now." When you're ready and check in on the HUB App, there's a wait time. When I was on Celebration a couple weeks ago I realized the specialty places were almost always an hour wait if not right when they open and the MDR could be 10-30 minutes wait. Plan when you want to eat or book before you get hungry. If you wait until hungry, you'll become hangry and no one wants that.

Unlike long ago and IMO, due to companies not retaining service staff long term, expecting accurate answers on the phone just doesn't happen anymore. Sad but true. You have to do your own research and always plan for the worst by having a back up plan. So many times traveling I have had desk people, airport staff, airline staff and even Carnival staff on the phone gets things wrong. You have to do your own due diligence, not saying you didn't, just speaking in general. Lot of web surfing

Best Carnival value youve booked?
EngIceDave replied to havanadaydreaming's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
It's the Luminosa, it's a reposition. The "To the USA" is in a month, where it'll sail Brisbane to Seattle and then do Seattle-Alaska cruises and then in the fall is that 30 day trip back to Brisbane for their summer season during our fall. -

Upcoming cruise 22-Day Luminosa, Brisbane to Seattle, stopping in Fiji, Tahiti, Moorea and Honolulu Balcony cabin $100 pp refunded in a $200 on-board credit A lot of free play and free drinks everywhere for both of us. Since we've finally retired and this came up, how could we say no? An amazing deal and even if I totally lose the money I plan to play, still not sure how it's a money maker We were going to do the 30-day Seattle to Brisbane in the fall, but learned grand baby V2.0 is landing in August and no way grandmomma was going to go away for that long, so I swapped it to early April only a couple weeks ago while on Celebration. -
Transpacific Brisbane to Seattle April 13, 2023

This is true and works, but sometimes it is a struggle. Got to keep yourself up as long as possible and close to your normal bedtime and your clock will rewind. -

Thought of some very important questions... Is Australian Pepsi like American Pepsi? Do they have Starry of Sierra Mist? Is it Australian or American? Can you tell or care? What are Australian bagels like? Does everyone talk funny? If I find a kangaroo, can I keep it? Can I bring it on-board? Can I have a service kangaroo on-board? Does the toilet really flush the other direction? What exactly is "Australian food?" -
This was 18 months ago. Maybe then they were mass popping to save time, people, etc...?
