1. I haven't lost anything - I'll simply pay the extra .50 (it's $13.50 on cruises originating in the USA). And no, it takes significantly more than that to make me . :D

Hi there wpgcycler - we have a common interest and whilst we may see things slightly different when it comes to Celebritys handling of this wine by the glass issue , we both will have a fine time on our cruises for sure , albeit sadder for me that many wines are nolonger included in this package in September.

Can you tell me if that extra .50cents per glass now for that wine as you say - the Pouiily Fume - is correct for sailing ex Rome or is it the $16 I see on the list provided here on CC . Are you saying that I will be required to sign for .50cents each glass if I choose that? Given that the Official list posted here by Celebrity says Wine by the Glass up to $13 - can you point me to the new wine list that says that wine is $13.50 ?

May I say though ,IF this is correct , you actually have lost something -- .50c per glass .Maybe no big deal ( despite the principle involved here ). If its $2 or $4 per glass maybe you wont be ? , just disappointed ?:)

  2. Do you realize that your statement that "most things" is not true? Did you actually compare the list? I think a "few things" is a more accurate statement, but I did not compare each item on the two lists.

Has anyone compared the most recent list to the previous list? Is it really over 60% smaller as Pushka and hammo seem to indicate? I do not think a list of actual wines by the glass detail was ever provided.

I guess you have not read all the Posts Jagoffee --

Firstly , I dont believe I have never mentioned your figure of "over 60%" , so please do not quote me on that.

Secondly , Of course we are comparing the wine by glass lists - that is what this is about .Why dont you have a look yourself.

As to the list of wines previously available and now not available - have a look at the wine by glass menus here on CC from cruisers who kindly provide them. You will see the changes.

When I signed up for the Premium Package upgrade, Celebrity provided a list of wines included in the Package - now they have moved several outside the limit previously included . That is unfair .

We sail in September and Ironically , I have now booked another Celebrity cruise for 2015 . I am fully aware of the new Premium Package limitations when it comes to wine by the glass and I still made my decision to buy the Premium Package . It was an informed decision.

The September cruise is another story - Celebrity changed what I purchased - gave me no alternative selection substitute ,no recompense to the value removed and therefore degraded the package I purchased in good faith and with my hard earned$.

That is the Truth of it.

  3.
I wouldn't categorize them as complaints but rather observances or disappointments in the changes that Celebrity has been making. If someone has never cruised on Celebrity they wouldn't know. There are many faithful Celebrity passsengers and it is reflected by the amount of Elite or higher status in their Captains Club. These members are just commenting on many of the things that they have enjoyed and have kept them loyal to the brand but are gradually disappearing or eliminated completely and are not happy about it.

    🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
That sounds about right , and why shouldnt I be able to express a concern here on CC -- my beef is with the deterioration of the wine by glass list in The Premium Beverage Package . It was the ground swell of criticism regarding the Classic Package that got that rectified so this forum is useful for that .

WHAT - NO WINE LIST ? A list of 20 Rums , but no wine list ?

AND with this Proviso included --

    " Please note

that drink prices are subject to change at any time without prior notice and the brands listed below

are not guaranteed to be included in the Premium Package. "

If you were interested in the deterioration of the Wine By The Glass List - That was worth waiting for. Thanks to those who photographed their menus so we can see all the wines now nolonger included - saves being surprised onboard..

  5. Is the Pouilly-Fume that good? You've got me curious now. :p

Not really - Sauvignon Blanc , selling for around and $22 - 28 per bottle retail.. $16 a glass is a bit rich in my opinion and it was included in the Premium Beverage Package prior to them deciding they could get a few more dollars per glass for it , just as they have done with several other middle of the road wines now no-longer included in the Less Than Premium By The Glass Wine List:(

  6. I'm not a wine snob but I am a wine lover and amateur wine educator. If you've not yet tried them I think you'll find several of these wines to quite pleasant indeed. I'd leave the table VERY satisfied after some Domaine Chandon to wake up my palate, the Pouilly Fume with my seafood appetizer, the Chateau Castera with my Duck and a glass of Taylor Tawny to wash down dessert. ;)

I see you have now lost the Pouilly Fume out of the Premium Package wine list ??? - are you now

Michel Redde Pouilly-Fume "La Moynerie" Loire 16.00

The Chandon is just hanging on.

  7. Our cabin price hadn't gone up with the addition of the promo (though it is for December 2015 NZ cruise). I selected the classic beverage package and also got the "world tour" obc. Not sure how that worked out since the world tour offer was suppose to end may 31st. We booked after midnight on June 1st.

    Hi PinkSalt

We are Aussies also - Still June 1 here A.M and seems I am having a little trouble booking with the promo on the Celebrity website . Can you tell me how you went about this please.:)

  8. Hammo look at the other thread you got your sums wrong its 2$ more not 4$

17$ includes 15& service charge you are allowed 15$ includuing service charge.

    Thanks Snowyboy

Can you point me to where it says officially that the Premium Package Wine limit is $15 please. This is from the Celebrity website -

"Wines by the Glass up to $13 per serving."

In any case -On the last wine list we had on Silhouette ( November ) and Solstice (January )

wines that were $13 on the "menu" -that is Conundrum & Dry Creek - are now on that list shown on CC at $17 - isnt that $4 ?

My point remains that we purchased the upgrade - Celebrity then moves wines out of the Package that were available when they advertised the product.--.

  9. Thanks KevinYork for the Post

    For example now -

When I purchased my Premium Upgrade - Dry Creek Zinfandel and Conundrum were included in my package . I have enjoyed both these wines on Previous Celebrity Cruises within the Package and were available when I purchased the upgrade months ago.

I now see both these wines require me to pay $4 per glass extra - Thats right - $4 per glass extra - ontop of the Premium Beverage Package ?? - for a wine that was included previously . That totally sucks. Celebrity apologists and shareholders will no doubt disagree but that is a case of moving the goal posts after the kick and everyone on CC should be outraged . Strangely not.

  10. Celebrity Cruises,

Excellent job. You clarified the limits on the packages and also increased the Classic wine limit to $9. You also provided an example of the current offerings within those limits. You also reinforced that the limits are the basis of the program and the offerings may vary if prices or availability changes. Many of us really like the approach as it allows us to cost effectively go over the Premium Limits for certain wines and International beers. Also it allows new brands that fall within the limits to automatically be included.

Your effort should result in a very clear understanding for everyone.

I have enjoyed this program many times and I hope to continue to enjoy it in the future. I believe it offers Celebrity a competitive advantage and is a great marketing tool.

    Thank you very much.

Are you for real ?! Great Marketing Tool ?

"""Many of us really like the approach as it allows us to cost effectively go over the Premium Limits for certain wines and International beers. Also it allows new brands that fall within the limits to automatically be included."""

The Classic Package is increased to $9 for wine but remains at $13 for Premium with several wines previously included now priced above the package that we paid extra for.

    Excellent Job ??

""Your effort should result in a very clear understanding for everyone.""

Yeah Right -- we are all happy with the Premium Package Wine List being Dudded.

  11. Except this is the OLD explanation of the packages. Now the classic package includes glasses of wine up to $9. Celebrity said a week and a half ago they were working on the premium package but we haven't seen anything.

Well , good news came for the Classic Package update --- fantastic for them .Its continuing to be a sore point for all us who paid the upgrade and have had the goal posts moved afterwards. I realize Celebrity have said they will update the Premium list - but hollow words and disgruntled cruise passengers will make for complaint onboard and afterwards for sure - just as the Classic Package did..

  12. A couple of points Curt -

Ignoring the fact that the analogy was a poor one and if the comment regarding scaring away the Celebity Rep was meant to be tongue in cheek - ( not that I am sure that is the case ) - then hardy ha-hah.

Your suggestion that choice is not necessary or important is a little surprising --- well , bewildering .

    Your quote --

"it's fine, specific brands don't matter. Same for the Premium, and same for wines."

Did you really say specific brands don't matter ?

I do agree with you that it is "improper and misleading to post any sort of itemized specific list of anything in any package knowing that the specific brands are subject to change anyway" That is what Celebity have done . I purchase a Premium Beverage Package having seen the wines included within that price point , and then these wines are made more expensive after the fact , denying me access to them after my in good faith purchase. No mention of replacements offered as you might expect?

As you say , I guess - 1 wine would be OK in the end? A white wine - A red wine - can we have A sparkling wine ? Please.

    Would anyone seriously consider this?

I do appreciate the fact that you acknowledge you are a Celebrity Shareholder - hat switching is sometimes difficult.

  13. Thanks for the information Bill

Can you tell us if Celebrity were charging the .50 cents extra for the wines they have increased from $13 to $14.50 - such as Conundrum which , along with some others are now moved outside the Premium Package that I purchased .

I think Dry Creek Zinfandel is another .:(

It would be nice if Celebrity were a little more informative so that we dont always have to rely on CC contributions for changes.

  14. Thanks for the information KevinYork :)

What do you suggest us Premium Beverage Package purchasers do when we find items removed from the package we expected to be included ?

We still do not know the changes that have been made since purchase and I anticipate Customer Relations will bear the brunt of complaints onboard - as well as the waiter/bar staff. Thats unfair to all concerned

  15. Just saw this --

We had a similar noise on Silhouette Cabin 6184 - a constant humming noise which was difficult to get used to and affected our ability to sleep properly..:(

We were told the ship was full also - so suck it up . Thank heavens for the Martini Bar.

We are in 6195 next trip and the cabin compilation sticky has one post which says this is a quiet cabin so fingers crossed. If anyone has stayed in 6191, 6193 or 6195 can you let me know how they were please?:D

  16. A thought: If you have the premium package, that same glass of wine costs just $1. You've saved more than the $10 on that one nicer wine.

    Really ?

Today, the focus is on "what drinks are included"....I'm suggesting that the focus should really be on "if I spend 10 more a day, how much less will it cost me to enjoy some very good wines, some top shelf alcohol, etc."

    Just a thought....

    You must be joking.
