Unfortunately we will not be here when you arrive on the Volendam, otherwise we could have arranged to meet again. Noordam is calling us!! It's a very wet windy day, such a shame for the cruise ship passengers in port today. @kazu thank you for the link to the bursary page. Was it Jose's wish to set up the bursary? It's a wonderful thing to do. @Vict0riann sorry to read of your walking problem, hope that you will soon get a diagnosis and treatment can begin. @RMLincoln pleased that you have arrived at your new home, good luck with the unpacking and decisions of what to place where!
  6. @Cruising-along here is the Kit Kat slice recipe. 300 grams digestive biscuits 100 grams butter melted 250 grams condensed milk 2 x 45 gram packs of Kit Kat 100 grams Nestle milk chocolate Crush digestive biscuits in food processor. In medium sized bowl, mix together crushed biscuits, butter and condensed milk. Add chopped Kit Kat, fold into mixture. Scoop mixture into an 8 x 8 cm baking tin, level out the mixture, Refrigerate until set. Melt milk chocolate pour over the set base. leave to set. (Recipe says to add another 100g of butter to the chocolate when melting, but I did not do so). An easy recipe. Found on the website of local supermarket.
  7. Thanks for all the posts today, good humour. Used condensed milk this morning while making a Kit Kat slice,will cut it into squares later, when the chocolate covering the base is set. Timaru is located between Christchurch and Dunedin. One of the ship excursions is a bus trip to Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.
