  1. We miss the live music in the main Dining room during dinner. During our last cruise, (Pre covid) asked the concierge for printed stationery which she provided.......how many sheets would we like?, plus the HAL envelopes.
  2. Yesterday morning woke to huge snowflakes falling, today woke to bright sunshine. The snow did not last, rained most of the day. Hard to believe that it is already October, the year is vanishing too quickly.! @Quartzsite Cruiser so very pleased to read that your DH is showing improvement, hope that continues each day We have been to Suva three times while on board the Volendam. Thanks for all the food/drink recipes and the Suva photos. Best wishes to all on the care list.

  4. Finally finished reading today's posts. Thanks for all the food and drink recipes and photos of the port. Good neighbours are very important, we have very good neighbours,........ we try to be good neighbours. Sad that @grapau27 stated "Pass on good neighbours" , have you considered moving house to live in a neighbourhood that is more pleasant? @Quartzsite Cruiser pleased that your DH has had the operation, hope his pain soon settles. Like the idea of no disturbing the patient at night. @Cruzin Terri thanks for sharing the photos of your living room, very smart. Hope the floors will soon be fitted correctly. @cruzn single Bon Voyage.

  7. @ocean sounds Wishing you a fabulous cruise. Vancouver is a beautiful city. Thanks for all the photos of Port Chalmers/Dunedin. Staff at the The Guiness Book of Records have verified that Baldwin Street is the steepest in the world. When Mondalez closed the Cadbury factory, the site was bought by the Government to build a new hospital . The new hospital will consist of two buildings, work has commenced on the Outpatient building, design of the Inpatient building has yet to be finalised. @Quartzsite Cruiser hope all the Pre op tets are successful tomorrow. Safe travels.
  8. @richwmn Rich, thank you for the HAL Fleet locations and listing Port Chalmers today. The cruise season for the port this year begins on November 6th with a visit from the Royal Priness So far 131 cruise ship visits are booked for this season. Will now read all the posts for today.
  9. @richwmn Thanks for the HAL Fleet report and the daily. We have been to The Isle of Pines three times, during cruises on the Volendam. Wild rabbits are a pest for farmers.

  11. A busy day on the daily. Overnight our clocks moved forward an hour for daylight saving. @kazu sorry about your Hydrangea, is there any healthy root left that you could try to resuscitate? @smitty34877 sending sincere sympathy to you and your family. @cruising sister sorry to read of Murphy's result. @RMLincoln Maureen , pleased that you enjoyed the cruise. Congratulations on news of your new home, good luck with your move.

  14. @sciencewonk yes the ordered bouquets can be as large as you wish. The Neptune Lounge concierge has a folder with photos of various floral arrangements that can be ordered. If you wish to speak to the on board florist to order something different from the photos, the Concierge will arrange a suitable time to meet in the Neptune Lounge.(which I have done) After a week or so, the Concierge arranged for the florist to visit our stateroom to tidy the flowers, they looked like new again when he had finished.
  15. Pinnacle Dinner: Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon with Asparagus, baby beets and mashed potato, followed by Baked Alaska .........hope it will be as good as the Baked Alaska I make.!
  16. Am very late to dinner, but Smoked Salmon Chowder, Roasted Leg of Lamb, and Opera Cake.
