What is refunded when second passenger no shows
Roberto256 replied to nycjewlz's topic in Princess Cruises
Because they can. If the passenger(s) have insurance, princess is basically dinging the insurance. -
From the picture of the 'heartbroken child', he looks to be old enough to be able to accept disappointment. It's not like he was 4, and someone took away his toy. He was able to understand cancelling his entry. Not winning seems to be a likely outcome of cancelling one's entry.

That is sad on so many levels. I was going to ask what happened to 'the fastest internet at sea' ? But I looked, and princess seems to no longer make that claim, although my recollection is that they did recently. They now have 'the best wi-fi at sea' ! "MedallionNet Wi-Fi sets the industry standard for internet at sea." What has happened since this press release? https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/carnival-corporations-medallionnet-to-set-industry-apex-for-wi-fi-bandwidth-capacity-at-sea-powered-by-ses-networks-300603933.html 400mb download should be nothing for a connection this awesome.

I don't understand: "Dozens of people called CBS4 reporter Gabby Arzola, saying something needs to be done" Dozens? So, 24+ people called a single reporter at a Miami television station? For people travelling from all over the country, it seems unlikely that so many would call a single, particular reporter...

Transportation from Port Everglades to west palm airport
Roberto256 replied to TEE703's topic in Florida Departures
Just tell them you ship name, and/or the terminal number. Once upon a time, I was waiting near the pickup area for someone to come out from the ship. There was a passenger who had disembarked with his family. He was screaming into his phone, at his uber driver.. Where the f are you? I can see on the map you're not moving. You better get here. f u, etc. I'm waiting at terminal 4, where the f are you. I'm going to take a cab, and dispute the uber charge... The screaming went on for about 10 minutes, and still no uber. The guy had two kids with him, 10-12 years old, so I was a little suprised at his language. I quietly asked mrs. roberto ... do you think we should tell him he's at terminal 2? -
Mind the doors! Is this ropes course always available, or just on certain nights?

Based on the ratings, and the quick cancellation, whatever the target market was ... Princess missed them.

This might be more practical for travel: Back in the day, the commercials showed users reeling in whales! I am stunned that it is still available. https://www.amazon.com/Ronco-Pocket-Fisherman/dp/B0947GGVPT?th=1

A gentle reader could easily be misled by your post. But, as this is cruisecritic, that is a reasonable readers' expectation...

This varies by ship. Regal/Royal started free brewed coffee. Older ships have syrup.

Mexican Riviera Cruise - Work from Ship Questions
Roberto256 replied to HRReader's topic in Princess Cruises
My experience on princess in general ... not ship specific ... Internet in port is good ... as all the passengers are off the ship. Unless there is a mountain or some other obstacle next to the ship. (more likely in alaska than mexico) The best ship board internet I ever got ... in port, during a crew drill. All passengers off the ship. All crew at their musters stations, and not permitted to use their phones. Other than that, I would try 3-4 am for good service. -

Previously, was it being handled by the 'lack of concern department' ? -
Really appalling Princess on land Guest Support
Roberto256 replied to jrbeccles's topic in Princess Cruises
Welcome the internet. To quote Dave Barry, the internet is CB radio with typing. Keep the shiney side up! -
From Scott Adams: "The Boss, Dilbert, Wally and Alice sit at a conference table. The Boss says, "Our goal is to write bug-free software. I'll pay a ten-dollar bonus for every bug you find and fix." Dilbert, Wally and Alice throw their arms up in excitement. Dilbert yells, "Yahoo!" Alice yells, "We're rich!" Wally yells, "Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!!" The Boss says, "I hope this drives the right behavior." Wally says, "I'm gonna write me a new minivan this afternoon!"

In the old days, the princess chatters could bind that to a key ... one key press to insert into chat. I am still amazed that the global innovators are able to pump that rating to 1. Based on the results, they must spend more time pumping the rating than fixing bugs... (for the pedants, one can still bind actions to a key. On windows use something like AutoHotKey..)

Price Rises: Gratuities, Wifi, Medallion Shipping 🤑💰
Roberto256 replied to Jadn13's topic in Princess Cruises
For some reason, I had a flash back to the eighties... I think Mr. Padgett mistakenly thinks he is still at Disney ... where there is little direct competition, they are always over-subscribed, and love-blind customers will pay any amount for their product. I don't think Princess is the same as Disney in any of those areas. -
As the original poster is coming from Atlanta, they might well join the turnpike in Wildwood. That is almost 100 miles west of I-95.

December 14th is 10 days from now, and I don't know when the the comment was posted. To me, 10+ days is more than a few.

Medallion Net - Serious Privacy Concerns
Roberto256 replied to Meridian2uk's topic in Princess Cruises
Me too! That was the only way to differentiate between people with similar or even identical names. In the really old days, the listings were 'subscriber last, subscriber first', street address. Later, that changed to 'subsciber last, subscriber first & subscriber spouse first' Where's mr. potstech when you need him? And, of course, that was how ahnold found Sarah Conner. He tore the page out of a phone book in a phone booth, and went to each address. It was in a movie. It must be true.
