... and have no interest in French....
- is the food at Q at least decent?
We've only tried Q once on Encore and it was disappointing (the meat was very dry and sides were bland). We did like the atmosphere and music though, for something different.
Have you ever tried Le Bistro? DH doesn't like anything French (eye roll) and yet we agree we have always had excellent food and probably the best service of all the specialty restaurants at Le Bistro on several different ships. You can get "non-French" food there also. Try it - you might like it!

I'm glad you made the best of it but I'm also glad you wont be in my traveling party!
This was a mistake they're both likely never to make again, and they also sound like the perfect people to have in your traveling party - people who can make the best of a terrible situation.
@Bebop1088 Thanks for sharing!

We were on the Dawn in December and paid $9.95 to be able to text on board friends. It was Android to Android and it worked fine, and we would probably do it again.

Thanks so much for this review. One of the main reasons I want to try Haven eventually is for the Haven Bar. Now maybe I can let go of that craving a little, even though every ship can be different and staff can be having a bad day. A bad week, however, is another story.
As for the Louis XIII experience - what a damn shame! We were fortunate enough to try this on the Dawn in December in Cellars with the sommelier Ernest. Wow! We hadn't seen anyone else have it before so we didn't know what exactly to expect and Ernest made the experience truly amazing. Should you every sail with him - I highly recommend having him serve it to you.

We cruised in December out of Tampa and they had the valet service at the terminal.

This right here is why I love your reviews and have missed them so much. Please publish a book when you retire so we can all keep laughing and smiling. I'm so happy that you made it back to sea, and I look forward to following along on your adventure ❤
First time I've read one of your reviews (thanks to the Tribe for recommending it) and I second this. I'm loving it and you!

We need more @Saint Gregs in the world. Thanks for the inspiration.

I booked a balcony cabin for a 2023 cruise, 11942
We booked 11342 partially because the balcony looked a little larger, almost like the angled balconies on Breakaway Plus ships. It'll be interesting to see how that fleshes out.

Nov 27, 2021, Brilliance
Dec 8, 2021, NCL Dawn
Sadly we can't take both because DH can't get all the time off from work. I'm torn with which I'd prefer, but any cruise is better than none right now. If the Port of Tampa doesn't open this would solve the issue since both embark from Tampa.

@ceilidh1 Awesome video! What a great job by you and your kids.
Not sure why you apologized for your accent - I think it's lovely and easily understandable to boot.

My Mom earned her Angel wings on Monday. Yesterday she would have been 93.
Now she is a beautiful young woman back in the arms of her gorgeous sweet heart.
I know it's been said so many times before, but "Love is Eternal".
It puts such a wonderful joy in my heart to know that they will never be apart again.
Call me a crazy romantic at heart! But it works!
Sherry
So sorry for your loss Sherry, and what a beautiful sentiment. Hugs to you.

Just as an experiment, I would like to try and find out who's actually reading this thing lately... If you're one of the "lurkers", please just reply, even if it's just one word, to let me know you're out there... I know all of the "usual suspects", so no need to play unless you want to. I'd just like to try and gauge how many are actually following...
Butter and Lawry's on my broccoli please.

Happy Belated Birthday Sid!
@deedle7544 Like everyone else said, that sucks and how it's being handled adds insult to injury. Hope you get some good information on Monday.
@BigNance and to everyone else who has lost a loved one I'm sorry for your loss. My sister lost her cancer battle a few weeks ago. What a f*****g year.

Anyone on here from the Tampa area? I’ve got a trip to Tampa planned for the end of August. Just wondering what the COVID status is there. Are things open....restaurants, bars, parks? Is Florida following the everyone wears a mask thingy?
Hi. I'm about an hour south of Tampa. The area has had a recent spike in COVID cases. The city of St. Pete has issued an ordinance to require wearing face masks indoors effective today. That's the only city that's requiring it. Restaurants are currently open at 50% capacity. As we know, a lot can change before your visit (for the better!). It's a beautiful area.

I worked with this one back in the 90's, he was our fine dining chef.
Cool! Being 23 years old at the time is impressive.

Hi from LWR. We love Port Tampa Bay! Being only 45-ish minutes away is such a treat. Too bad it doesn't accommodate the bigger ships, but the fact it's small and easy to get around is definitely part of its allure.
