  1. It was the last time we were on the Silhouette but that was pre Covid.
  2. I have to laugh about the newest rendition of the E+ and Zenith rant. Just today, while working on an upcoming cruise via my cruise planner I glanced at my cruise history. I'd forgotten how long we have cruised on Celebrity (30 + years.) Even more stunning is the fact that those early cruises earned ONE point. Some were even longer than one week. So I guess I should thump my chest and skip up the ramp, turn to those below me and do a Rocky dance when I board next month.
  3. lorac77, Welcome back to Cruise Critic. Please post your inquiry on your Roll Call. It will be best posted there and not on the "general" Oceania board. Have a great cruise!!!
  4. Be glad you are disembarking in Southampton. You shouldn't have a problem there. There are plenty of other ports where hauling your luggage would be a nightmare. Transportation options are also adjacent to the terminal.
  5. Yes you can disembark with your luggage in tow. What port are you disembarking and we can probably give you more details?
  6. Not all Aqua deck 9 cabins are under the pool. Check the port and starboard cabins aft ot the midship's elevators. These cabins are under the carpeted foyer for the restaurant and are very quiet. We've stayed in them multiple times and never heard a thing.
  7. Yes you can. Contact the special needs department and they will provide the water and an extension cord. Don't bring your own. I can't remember if there is an outlet near the bed since the cabins have been upgraded since we were onboard.
  8. I use Sawyer's too. It treats your existing wardrobe and washes out easily after a few wearings. If you are heading further south like to Rio or Buenos Aires I have noticed that the ladies don't wear a lot of white during their summers.
  9. We went through the Canal in February on the Marina and used the old locks. O ships are not big enough to use the new locks and they certainly don't need to spend the $$$$$$.
  10. Would a south bound itinerary work if sailing Celebrity? Hubbard Glacier is best experienced after the morning fog has disappeared and that means sailing from Seward south. There are also some itineraries that substitute Sitka. If given a choice I'd also do the Millie. The aft (stern) cabins on deck 11 are the absolute best for wake and nature watching. They are Aqua class cabins and book up quickly. My favorite is 1140. The best whale watches are from both Juneau and Icy Straits.
  11. Please take into consideration the fluid nature of Covid 19. We are heading back in a coupe of months and as Shella73 posted those are the same requirements I checked today on the Chilean and Argentinian official websites and mirrored by the US embassies in both countries. Be prepared and check the official websites a few days before you travel. Things can change quickly.
  12. You might contact the Captain's Club and request the helipad experience. If it is available on your sailing they can probably get you an invitation.
  13. If you can get in touch with Bruce do so. He has done this many times and O will make it a very engaging interlude.
  14. And when are you traveling? The majority of the problems earlier this year were more prolonged in European airports. Atlanta shouldn't be an issue.
  15. There are also two ironing boards, a folding table and sometimes baskets.
  16. We are rather experienced cruisers and are itinerary driven. Yes the regular balcony cabins are small. The bathrooms are even smaller BUT the itineraries are why we sail. The unique itineraries, the overnights and the onboard ambiance are the lines strongest selling points. We haven't been on Azamara since Covid but will be back onboard in the spring. We also sail Oceania and the key to booking your first sailing is to find one of their preferred or connoisseur agents who can demystify the booking process. Oceania also sails R class ships with the same construction as Azamara plus two larger ships with a third type sailing in '23. We've sailed other lines but not Viking. Viking has static itineraries, no children, and no casino. You can take cruise line tours on Azamara and Oceania of course. We always research our ports and book independent excursions. In 35+ years of cruising we have only booked a handful of ships excursions. Because of the smaller passenger counts the A and O excursions tend to be for fewer passengers too. Find a cruise travel agent who knows both lines. Book and enjoy......................
  17. Check out Dora the Explorer. She's the best known tour guide in Cartagena and she really has an incredible staff leading her tours.
