  1. Nothing special just a set dish that changed on a daily basis the only example I. Could think of was corned beef hash which the wife liked with a poached egg, kedgeree and minute steak. Also on our last cruise there was no smoked haddock available all cruise for breakfast.
  2. When we booked pre cruise recently for Arvia the discount was applied straight away for Epicurean and started at £30pp reduced to £24 and then 10% Peninsular tier making it £21-60pp which was automatically charged to credit card. Sindhu is lightly different because it is no longer a set price so you pay £10pp which is charged to your credit card and then when onboard whatever you choose from a la carte menu is reduced by 20% and then Peninsular Club discount and then charged to your onboard account.
  3. For the first time of using CPS on our disembarkation at Ocean Terminal as leaving kiosk with my keys there was a car parked with the owners of the car and a representative of CPS. There was severe damage to rear bumper and I heard the CPS official say to them contact your insurance company and tell them that CPS will admit all liability.
  4. One of the major declines in food on P&O since COVID was the removal of the special of the day on the breakfast menu in MDR sadly no more.
  5. Certainly isn't OK on Princess as there has been a similar fall in service and quality. You must be very lucky to have cruised on all those lines since COVID or are you just guessing. My last cruise on Emerald Princess the service and quality was very poor, in fact that bad we enquired about disembarking the ship in Greenock half way through the cruise. If it wasn't for the extortionate cost of a train from Greenock- Glasgow-Southampton to pick up the car by we would have disembarked.
  6. There seems to be a lot of issues with car parking at Southampton port. Unless you have included parking with CPS it has become very expensive, P4C who I have used many times with no problems seem to be having issues. They have always parked your car in a secure compound a short distance east of Ocean Terminal but recent stories seem to say they have moved and are using an area in Totton. I e mailed P4C some weeks ago where they parked the cars and is it true that they are using an area in Totton and they have not even had the decency to reply. Me being cynical means that they haven't responded because they don't want it public knowledge. If they have nothing to hide why not respond to my mail. On our recent Arvia cruise we had CPS inclusive parking and for duration of the cruise my car was parked in an area Redbridge Station Approach.
  7. It benefitted us as we were able to go into 710 club for 8-45pm show and then on to see 10-30pm show in the theatre.
  8. It was never really a problem on the 1030pm on Arvia recently as the theatre me er seemed to be full and surprisingly on Greatest Days show was half empty. Cannot help but think a lot of the problems they seem to be having on Arvia and Iona are self inflicted and totally unnecessary.
  9. Cannot understand the difference between 2 cruises. We disembarked Arvia on 17th September and we had no issues with dining in MDR. I must admit I think it helped that we pre booked 1830hrs for every night pre cruise. The only night when there was a queue was the first night which seems to happen on all ships. Once we were seated the service in the MDR was good with no long waits.y only issue with the ship is the stupidity of keeping theatre doors locked until 30 mins before the show creating unnecessary queues in casino and Brodie's. All this was the totally stupid reason of making people pre book for the theatre which is totally unreasonable. Let people go when they want and if you go late and it's full you miss out, that is the system that has been in operation on P&O for 23 years so why change to this stupid system.
  10. By the way the Signature dish of beef, lobster tail and lamb was excellent last week on Arvia andy wife's whole lobster looked delicious and she said it was. We were that full we never got as far as dessert and after 20% discount for pre booking and 10% Carribbean tier discount a cost of £14+ pp was IMO excellent value for money.
  11. Trouble with all food is it is very subjective. We have eaten in Sindhu on Azura, Britannia, Iona and as recent as Arvia and have never had a bad meal and thought they were all excellent. Having said that they have gone downhill after Atul Kochhar left P&O.
  12. It is a well kept secret because Cunard are trying unsuccessfully that FCDs are no longer available to anyone which is a total fabrication by Cunard. They know it upsets UK cruiser's that they can no longer purchase them while others can. Another case of Cunard treating it's customers in the UK poorly compared to others. No FCDs and also no drinks packages and free gratuities if you book grills suite.
  13. Not specifically curries at late night snacks but there is varied hot meals if wanted and also lamb doner meat under a fancy name some evenings. For me it was just usually a hot chocolate and cheese and biscuits.
  14. Sorry but it is a personal thing but hand towels yes are washed more infrequently but bath towels once used after a shower or bath are only used the once and then washed.
  15. On the occasions I used buffet at lunchtime last week on Arvia the plates at the salad area were as warm as the rest.
  16. Yes but we are talking now and not in 2017 cruising has changed since then including Celebrity. No good comparing P&O now with Celebrity in 2017 as I am sure like all cruise lines things are very different now.
  17. We recently booked Epicurean pre cruise on Arvia and with 20% discount for booking in advance and then 10% for Peninsular Club tier worked out at £21-60pp which was excellent value which nobody can disagree with.
  18. I have sailed with P&O, Princess and Cunard since COVID and no doubt Celebrity are the same but they have all sadly the quality has gone down. I have over the 23 years of cruising with P&O been as critical as many so no lover of P&O at any cost but things have to be put into perspective. Returned last weekend from Arvia, not my favourite ship, but having had a balcony cabin with free parking and over £250pp OBC and good in MDR while not fine dining perfectly acceptable and superb good on Epicurean and Sindhu there can be no complaints overall.
  19. Does the price of Celebrity Apex include, as on P&O, gratuities or are these added daily. Also the price of drinks are much higher on Celebrity and no doubt they had an extra service charge which P&O don't. This can make a lot of difference in price and you are very cleverly not giving a level playing field comparison to rubbish your opinion of P&O.
  20. Our cabin steward was used as meeter-greeter at the door of the Zenith restaurant in the evening. Many others were used to take you to your table and resulted in a couple of laps of MDR because the majority hadn't got a clue where the tables were and how they were numbered.
  21. The only notice of clock changes last week on Arvia were in the Horizon and by the Captain in his 1745hrs announcement.
  22. So if you have a shower pre dinner and leave your towels on the floor of the shower the cabin steward will change them next morning on his cabin service. If you want a shower first thing in the morning when you get up you have to use the same towel used the night before. Personally never use a bath towel more than once after a bath/shower at home but unfortunately don't get the same with P&O.
  23. You can have anything alcoholic and non alcoholic as long as you put base them but think Op of thread was asking about inclusive drinks.
  24. Sorry but having just returned from Arvia on Sunday the food in MDR was nothing like you say and on the whole was good with a good varied choice. The food in Epicurean and Sindhu was excellent as usual.
