Once booked a gty cabin and allocated cabin in a poor position, asked if it was possible to change cabins in the same category and informed no because of picking the cabin position to not a gty cabin allocated by the company However the cost of a numbered cabin was slightly less than what paid for a gty at the time, so had a refund and picked the cabin. All good.

I have emailed Royal Caribbean to find out which of the terms and conditions are correct and which ones to ignore as I have been informed they are incorrect

So the terms and conditions does not matter or apply to some bookings with royal caribbean according to people who post on cruise critic

On Wonder of the the Seas in May we changed cabins 3 times and packed suit cases every time as instructed. Moving to the third cabin, we had to transfer our own cases from the second cabin.

It was the Serenade of the Seas with nice environmental friendly gas turbine engines which are costly to run, so they installed additional heavy marine fuel engines to save fuel costs while in port with the resulting issues
