  1. WOW....I just checked my SS account for my upcoming cruise at the bowties are actually showing up!
  2. I have not seen those dinner icons on any of mine.......that has been 6 cruises since last summer's restart.
  3. I have also been cruising for 20+ years and have actually never heard of this duck thing..........no interest in it for me but I have no clue about it. Hi Paul😀
  4. Ohhh...it has been so long since I sailed Celebrity I did not realize Elite receive free laundry. I was Elite + the last time I cruised with them.
  5. Hi, I don't think the port of Miami ever closed and today, Sunday? They are open for sure.
  6. So is free laundry a special perk for long timers?
  7. Hi PH, glad you are OK and the more I think about it, the more my mind keeps saying I like my Dr and I am lucky enough to be able to drive wherever and whenever I need to since I no longer work. I think I am going to stay with him.
  8. Hi Melody, I have never had an issue with the cruiseline's laundry service...nothing bad has ever happened to my clothing, maybe I have just been lucky? And as for having free service for many years? You guys must book suites? With SS, after 100 days you get complimentary laundry. My cruise later this month puts me over 100😀
  9. I will buy you a drink😀..... Seriously, if you click on the "Healthy Sailing" link on the front page of the website and scroll down, you can see where it says "Areas of Focus" about testing and vaxxes. I don't know what information your consultant was referring to.......I really think they are wrong.........let us know what they tell you.
  10. Whoever you spoke with? I would contact them about it......the font is too small on that screenshot and I can't see all of what you posted. But if you look on the SS website? It specifically states what I copied and pasted.........
  11. This is from SS's website: Fully vaccinated and up-to-date travellers will not be required to show evidence of a PCR or Antigen test to embark a Silversea vessel except from destination with specific local health regulations, including but not limited to Australia, Bermuda, Canada and Greece. Now, as of today, 10/1, Canada has lifted all their restrictions.......ArriveCan and testing are no longer necessary.
  12. Not sure what the PCC? Is? Personal Cruise Consultant? Not sure why they said SS still requires a test....either they are incorrect or the updated information on the website is incorrect. It is dated 9/26 so that was just earlier this week. I am sailing out of Canada on 10/22 and it states on line, testing is no longer required for fully vaxxed guests. And as of today Canada no longer requires anything either. The ArriveCan has been lifted as well as testing.
  13. I use my luggage for dirty clothes. And starting on Oct 22nd I will be receiving free laundry😀
  14. Does this have to be clothing/accessories? I consider my only "true essentials"...that would be my meds. I don't own a kindle, I use the cruise line's shampoo and conditioner. Never bring duct tape or stickey notes. It is what makes us all different and that is a good thing😀
  15. Hi girls, got a letter in the mail from my GP's office and his office is closing on 10/14 and he is moving about 1/2 hour south. The letter had some other offices under the same group who are much closer to me but he has been my Dr for probably 6 or 7 years.........they are all part of "Ascension Health". I need to decide if I want to make that extra travel or pick a new Doc closer to home. Part of me does not want to start all over with a new Doc, etc...etc....but part of me doesn't want to make that trek to the new office either............siggggghhh.
  16. Hi, if you have been vaxxed? You no longer need a pre-boarding test. That requirement was lifted. There is information with an update on the website date 9/22.
  17. Hi, when did that vaccination policy change? I still see on the SS website where it says: All embarking crew, and all guests aged 12 years and older, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two weeks prior to embarkation. Only guests with vaccines approved by the WHO will be permitted to board.
  18. Hi JP, so sorry that happened to your Uncle and his family. You used the right word........the videos from everything look horrible. I am so glad they are safe though. Sending all my best wishes to you and your family.
  19. Hi Terry,🙂 I am fine.........have electric, water, etc. We are getting rain and some winds but nothing bad where I live really. Around the city? Some areas are prone to flooding so they are still having issues. My neighborhood doesn't have those any of those problems (thankfully). Just south of us is St Augustine and they ALWAYS have flooding when a storm comes as they are right on the water. And yes, Orlando has been pummeled with rain! It is VERY rare for all the parks to close down there. Everything...Disney and all its parks, SeaWorld and Universal ALL closed. And Ian is now on his way up to South Carolina and went back in the warm waters of the Atlantic so wishing all those in his path safety. Some of the videos of Naples/Ft. Meyers are simply catastrophic. Terry, thanks for asking. I really appreciate it.
  20. Hi, welcome to the wonderful world of cruising😀 I have been a solo cruiser for 20 years and yes, we solos have to pay a single supplement. So, no you are not missing anything. That is just the way it works. I do agree with Crystalspin's suggestion and check out the solo forum. There are some good threads over there with all kinds of information. What do you consider "older"?
