  1. Yes, this is where Sky Princess turned for the Medevac. So most likely, the helicopter came from the Shetland Islands.
  2. The only capable dock in Seydisfjorour is the ferry dock from Smyril Line. Once per week the MS Norröna car ferry is in port, arriving from Hirtshals, Denmark. MS Norröna, Seydisfjorour It is a pretty small dock, I wonder if the Island Princess would fit in length. But it looks like. No chance for a royal class ship tho. The Sky Princess is 164 m longer than the ship you see.
  3. I made the mistake and did not try it, so I don't know.
  4. This is what The Crab House in Icy Strait Point offers at the moment (May 03, 2023): No King Crab for a reason. In older web pictures (pre-Covid), they also had King Crab on their menu.
  5. Princess usually charges about 90% of the double cabin fare to singles.
  6. I completely agree in the MDR. The prawns have much much more flavor.
  7. Yes, and age isn't important yet on the royal class ships. And the Regal has a much nicer Retreat Pool area than the newer Royal Class ships, where the pool is surrounded by extra cabins. Fantastic ship.
  8. Recently on the Sapphire, Princess offfered "Land and Sea" (Turf & Surf lol) on the 2nd formal evening. 8 oz filet mignon + 6 oz lobster tail. No Risotto. It was no cold water lobster tho. The imho much more important Beef Wellington came on the 2nd last night (not formal). I like they split that, always had to order 2 mains (lobster + Wellington) on the 2nds formal in the past.. as many did. 😄
  9. SMiZE Cream sound like an expanding foam to me.
  10. Too bad Akureyri port is blocked today by the NCL Prima (4600 pax + crew). And 2 other smaller cruise ships (Silver Endeavour and Hurtigruten Fram). So no, the Sky couldn't have easily stopped today in Akureyri. Sorry, but I would never ever book a non-refundable private tour.
  11. Crab Shack is history. As is Planks BBQ.
  12. It was, because others at the table were wearing classic formal. But it was ok for everyone to let this guy pass the formal attire. 😄
  13. Hard to say. It's hit or miss any time of the year, isn't it? Just finished an Alaska cruise on the Saphhire. Embarkation was April 29. First of the season. It was a bargain deal, and I didnt't expect anything... But we had the best weather one could imagine (except Hubbard Glacier, but we still made it upfront).
  14. Edit: And you can't buy MedallionNet Internet in advance in the web version. It's also only in the app.
  15. The only two things you can't do in the web version is to select a boarding group and to view the detailed JourneyView. The app is needed if you wish to do these.
  16. No. The Sky took the opposite direction and is on eastern course now. The bridgecam shows Southampton as the next destination. So the captains avoids the14 feet swell west and south of Iceland by returning north of the island.
  17. Use the login using your booking number instead. This should work without an OceanReady account.
  18. No need for the app. You can do dining reservations directly on the website. Just use the MedallionClass web version link under 'Check-in'.
  19. ⁉️ Princess still has the older ships with covered pool that sail Alaska at the moment. Sapphire and Grand Princess for example.
  20. This is just crazy. And it might not even be the original. 😄
  21. On the Caribbean Princess, formal night #2, western Caribbean cruise from Houston Bayport, back in 2014, there was a guy at our shared table in camouflage outfit, short pants, army boots, and didn't take off his also camouflaged hat for dinner, Further more, he ordered 4x the lobster successively. Restaurant stuff let him in, but asked us at the table if it was ok. It was a remarkable evening. 😄
  22. That's how I do the glacial excursions, too.
