  1. Hopefully not on the Sky as the current coffee in buffet, dining room and International cafe is disgusting, weak and not drinkable anywhere. Never experienced this quality on any of our cruises. I am not alone in my experience. Thankfully they have kettles in cabins. Purchased instant coffee in port to make a half way decent cup.
  2. From experience onboard the Sky. If you are Elite and call for the afternoon tea there is no charge. Still listed as complimentary. Has nothing to do with which package you are on. No charge on our account after 3 days.
  3. DH has utilized the service. Great job.
  4. I doubt very much. There will be limited staff in the terminal, mainly security for those returning from visiting Quebec. Definitely no one to handle bags. We embarked last year in Quebec to Fll and boarding was slow to open, arrived at terminal around 11:00am. Bags took 5 hours to arrive.
  5. Definitely not restricted by cabin categories as the both of the staff we spoke to quoted is multiple categories before we booked. Yesterday when we booked the LA-Buenos Aires cruise for our grandsons to join us on this cruise they jokingly suggested we stay on for the entire season as it was available. The boys fare was 50% less than what we paid or the balcony cabin next door.
  6. As well as some Mexico out of San Pedro. I would suggest stopping by the Future Cruise desk and checking. Currently on the Sky. Our minimal sea days has 3 staff available 8-8, shore days 8-12 and 2-8. Stopped by this morning with absolutely no wait. One and done.
  7. Currently onboard the Sky and will stop by sometime and scan the menu. Walked by this afternoon around 4:00pm, 2 guests, six staff. Stopped by GS yesterday to see where we stood with the changes. What we see in our Travel Summary is what we get. Was offered the $10 upgrade to the new plus package. No thank you. Will use our OBC to visit Alfredo’s if we desire. Other changes are irrelevant. With regard to arrival times. We had Princess transfer from LHR to ship. Took just over 3 hours, left LHR at 10:06am, arrived QEII terminal around 1:00pm. After leaving the bus we were constantly on the move. We had Medallions, QR code, Green Lane, Elite. The guide did not question QR code, acknowledged medallions and off we went. Stop at the counter with check in was maybe 2 minutes. Scanned QR code, checked passports, off we went. Extremely efficient. Secret is, do not go at the crack of dawn. Take your time, relax and then board early afternoon.Happy camper on the Sky.
  8. The 50% off cruises are a good deal if you know you are definitely going to travel. Cannot use FCD as deposit, deposit is non-refundable non-transferable. Yesterday on board the Sky booked our grandkids to travel with us to Antarctica in December 2023. Fare was definitely 50% lower than what we paid for our booking (they are in the balcony next door). Limited itineraries, can only be booked onboard. Does not hurt to ask.
  9. Currently on the Sky with the Plus package purchased September ‘22. We had the opportunity the first day to upgrade to the New Plus package for an additional $10 per day. Chose not to as we have substantial OBC if we decide to eat at Alfredo’s. No need for room service and I can walk to order a beverage.
  10. Just checked Seattle express. Selected hotel to Pier 91 with a return for the following week Pier to SeaTac. Fare is $40 plus $5.00 taxes. Same as it was last month. Great service, highly recommend.
  11. Could be they accommodate more than 2 guests. Try entering 3 or 4 in the number of guests.
  12. The Navy is putting ships and submarines out to sea from a couple of the San Diego bases.
  13. Book Seattle Express for transport. The drop at many hotels. We were picked up at the Red Lion hotel and dropped at the ship. Highly recommend, efficient, clean, timely transport.
  14. I would suggest calling Princess. Email response is slow to non-existent.
  15. What are the temperatures like? Trying to pack for next sailing.
  16. I vaguely remember seeing a tab in the wine list in the dining room in Discovery last month listing organic wines. Did a quick search on Mr Google and he indicates Princess has Organic wines are available. Once again no wine listing. Sulfite free is another issue. Good luck. If you can bring in your favorites.
  17. Different world. This was when the US was closed until you were required to be 10 days from positive. We had a wonderful week in London courtesy of Princess because we could not fly home. Husband had symptoms for one day. No quarantine regulations on England. Per diem and pre paid hotel covered all expenses. We ended up spending an extra day as there were no business class seats available into San Diego. Alaska appears to have a major Covid issue.
  18. I live in the US. Our CVP had nothing to do with the FCC showing on our accounts. The ship told us it would show up in a couple of days and it did. I think the benefit to us was the lack of insurance.
  19. DH was quarantined in May 2022 after catching Covid on a British Isles cruise. FCC showed up within 3 days of disembarking. For some reason I forgot to add insurance to this trip. All expenses for shoreside quarantine we reimbursed exactly as documented in the letter we received. No issues from me. We contacted our CVP and the FCC was applied to the cruise of our choice we already had booked.
  20. When I submitted DS and SIL documentation for Military OBC they were approved within a couple of minutes. I waited 14 days after submission for the funds to be applied to the booking took a call to my CVP to have them applied.
  21. From another Grandmother who paid all expenses for an Alaska cruise. If you did not input your own credit card info on the App for onboard expenses your can go down to Guest Services and have your card input. We recently did this for our Alaska Discovery with no issues. Another suggestion, if appropriate, have Guest Services give access to all cabins in your party. Enjoy your family trip. Memories.
  22. They were definitely on the first leg of the December 1 Antarctica cruise last year. Never had a reason to use them on the second leg as the weather was dreadful.
  23. Absolutely do not agree. Everyone knew boarding and disembarking was in Ensenada. This was in the early 2010. At no time did we feel unsafe. The reason for the horrendous statement was the cruise line had made arrangements for all the buses to go through Otay Mesa crossing. When you have 40+ buses showing up for Immigration the delays were extended. I definitely would do it again.
