  1. ....and all done for your and my convenience.
  2. This situation is ripe for problems and one I would not recommend attempting.
  3. Norwegian leads the industry in non emergency and non weather itinerary changes. Reasons given for NCL are operational considerations, fleet redeployment, green/sustainable initiatives, none of which are emergency or weather related.
  4. Quebec is an amazing city and we would book the one way or a two one ways back to back to have the opportunity to get deeper into Canada.
  5. YouTube. Lots of content there from content creators. Many everyday passengers are probably enjoying the beautiful ship.
  6. They are a dime a dozen now. Rotating, revolving doors. Back in the day, each cruise director had a special talent ...singing, juggling, bird show, etc. Now, as long as you can yell into a microphone, dance, and wear the latest, trendiest clothes, you could qualify to be a CD on Carnival.
  7. ....for the benefit of all members, NCL may receive thousands of complaints every week. However, NCLs corporate guest relations is located in Miami, not offshore. The canned response part may be true. You may receive a response that looks something like this.... thanks for sailing, we are committed to delivering great vacations, we aren't doing anything to resolve your problem, please sail with us again.
  8. Did you recently log in to the princess website? If yes, then it probably isn't a scam. If you didn't log in, then I would just ignore it.
  9. We've done four TA's. One on CCL where it was quite relaxing and enjoyable. Different atmosphere...less families, more seasoned travelers. Opportunities to chat with crew to learn about their culture. It was a wonderful time.
  10. Yeah, at least you know what you might be dealing with. It is too bad, but sadly it is industry wide right now. How can we do less and charge more. I predict the entire industry will be in for a serious adjustment in the not too distant future. They've been able to enjoy record bookings at record pricing. However, at some point, the value received for the price charged won't reconcile and people will start looking for alternatives. We still enjoy cruising, but we used to sail four or five times per year, but now we only sail once, maybe twice per year. We rent a Florida resort condo or do an all inclusive for the rest. Hope you have a good cruise. We sailed Vista last year and had a decent cruise.
  11. Oh, okay. Hope my comments helped the OP. Thank you for your observations. Merry, Merry, Xmas.
  12. Candidly, it really isn't any of your concern, but since you keep pushing.....I have no idea how many times. We've been using our methodology since the 2000's. It's allowed us the opportunity to sail over 50 cruises on multiple lines from Europe to Hawaii. Sapphire NCL, Diamond CCL, Platinum Princess, etc. It's how we choose to do it and it works for us. If you need to select your specific cabin or lock in preferred flight times, I wouldn't recommend our methodology. If it doesn't work for you, respectfully, move on.
  13. If that's what actually happened, that would suck big time.
  14. I'm not worried about anything. We know what works for us. NCL has burned us with a charter cancellation before. Now, in the rare occasion we book with NCL, we do so last minute when there is truly very little risk of itinerary changes, port alterations, charters, etc. We have had tremendous opportunities to sail for 25% of the price you paid 90 days ago. We are back from our cruises and haven't even paid for them yet. And that is truly a risk-free experience.
  15. True, they would become applicable at the 11 month mark.
  16. Sure there is.... 1. Time value of money. 2. Risk that cruise price drops multiple times after final payment. 3. Can't book nonrefundable air yet. NCL could end up chartering the ship. 4. Can't book nonrefundable air yet. NCL could reposition the ship. 5. Can't book nonrefundable air yet. NCL could change the ports, the port times, etc. I could go on. Booking early does not come without risks. Everyone needs to carefully calculate risk and then make a decision based on their individual circumstances.
  17. This is a very good point and, based on the complaints that I read on here, one I think that a lot of cruisers don't fully grasp because it is different from the competition. The other lines will typically work to get you on a different flight when the unexpected occurs. I know last week or whenever it was that all the ships were delayed getting into Florida ports due to wind, Royal rearranged travel for all their air passengers. Even more impressive, if you had independent air arrangements, they agreed to cover the first $200 of change fees as a courtesy to their valued guests. That was over and above what was required in my mind. NCL would have promptly dismissed you and told you to go file a claim with your travel insurance after you found your own way home. Just have to fully understand what you are getting with NCL air. Very affordable, until the unexpected happens.
  18. Not on the ship, sorry. Many on the ship are scrambling to rearrange travel, so checking in on cc probably not a high priority for them. Celebration should be next up to dock. Should dock between 1 and 2pm. Horizon just docked. Then the waiting game begins. Your embarkation will be further delayed. Not sure why communications from Carnival have stopped. Have a great cruise after you get through with today's mess.
  19. Jade is a great ship. Lots of deck space. Spinnaker Lounge. Not too big, not too small.
  20. Can't dock during a noreaster event, unfortunately. You wouldn't want to be in Bermuda during such a storm. It is not safe.
  21. They are owed whatever the insurance policy covers for a missed port of call. Every policy is different. Some zero, some $50.
  22. On our cruise it saved nothing. What the compressed port times created were huge lines when trying to disembark and re-embark the ship at the end of the day. There are no pier runners, just long lines. As a result of the lines, the ship is unable to leave the port at the revised earlier time. They end up dropping the lines at the originally scheduled time, anyway. So, effectively, they are just disrupting everyone's travel plans and creating huge lines to disembark and re-embark the ship, for our convenience, of course. But hey, as long as they make these changes in the name of fuel efficiencies and as long as they are committed to delivering vacations and are working tirelessly, everything should be A-OK!!
