  1. I thought of that but they close at 3 and we won't be there yet.
  2. This shows the dining venues by type across the fleet and pictures of the Premium desserts. There is no charge for the buffet. Casual dining venues on Emerald are Planks (BBQ), The Salty Dog (pub), Steamers (seafood) and Vines (charcuterie). Steamers and Planks are pop-ups so they will occcupy part of the buffet on the nights they are open. I hope this helps!
  3. Wish we had Planks and Steamers! Would much rather eat there than Alfredo's, Ocean Terrace or Vines.
  4. You can bring on 12 cans per person. Must be cans - no bottles. I hope this helps!
  5. If you want to book the same time in the same dining room for every night you can do that in one step with the "Book Dining Plan". If you use the "Create New Reservation" you will need to choose your time and dining room for each night. We did it each day because one day we have an excursion that gets back a little later and one day we want to eat a little earlier. You can always change your reservations if things come up to change your plans. I hope this helps!
  6. We will have granola bars with us if we have any left since this is the last day of our trip. I was just hoping for something more substantial and I don't drink coffee. We will arrive in Anchorage the afternoon on the day before so hopefully we will be able to pick up something. It just seems that a lot of breakfast places in the area are closed on weekends or they close early in the day.
  7. You can send messages to others on the ship using the Princess app and you don't need to pay for WIFI. The only down side is they won't get a notification that they have a message so they will have to check their phone to see it. I hope this helps!
  8. There is a boarding "window" and it is the same for everyone
  9. We will be leaving early in the morning for our flights to Katmai National Park. I see they have a breakfast place but it doesn't open until 6am. Do they have a shop where we can get something to eat before that or is there anyplace nearby that we could by something the night before to eat in the morning? TIA

  11. Here is a map of the walking tour of Ketchikan. It is very easy to do on your own. I hope this helps!
  12. We walked around Ketchikan. I have attached the map of the walking tour. They might enjoy the Lumberjack show. You can walk there and buy your tickets (as long as they aren't sold out). We also walked around Skagway. They had a very nice museum (donations). You can rent a car and drive the road that parallels the train. If you go far enough to cross into Canada you will need your passports. Would they like the Tram in Juneau? Bear spray is not allowed on the ships so you would have to buy it in port and throw it away. I hope this helps!
  13. I have not seen this asked before. Our TA booked our flights through EZAir. Our names are listed correctly on our Travel Summary but they look "funny" when I call up our flights on the airline sites. My TA tells me this is normal but I don't want to have any trouble with TSA. Our names are listed as Firstmiddle Mr Last. Do I need to worry about the missing space between the first and middle name or will it be okay with TSA? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but we don't fly very often and we cruise even less. Thanks!
  14. You are correct - if you order within the package there are no "service charges" - if you order outside of the package there are additional "service charges". The original poster was stating the prices of items if you don't have a package.
  15. If you choose to eat at one of the "Casual" venues and your meal is not covered by a package you will pay $14.99 & 18% service charge so your bill will be $17.69. I hope this helps!
  16. We are booked at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel. It is attahced to the airport so you can walk off the plane and into the hotel. It is expensive but for our date in July it is $500 less than Pan Pacific. We are taking a cruise line transfer from the airport to the pier in the morning. Cheaper options would be taxi, uber or the skytrain all readily available at the airport. I hope this helps!

If you go to claalaska.com you can see where every ship is scheduled to dock in every port in Alaska. I hope this helps!
  18. No - you have to cancel first and then rebook. i was afraid to do that for fear of loosing what we had. It would only save us $60 so I decided not to risk it.
  19. The Plus fare really isn't a bad idea for your daughter. The Plus fare includes crew appreciation of $16-$18/day/person, WIFI of $25/day/person and the Zero-alcohol beverage package of $29.99/day/person & 18% service charge. These three items would cost at least $76.39 compared to $60 for the Plus fare. I hope this helps!
  20. What cruiseline are you on? Why can't you book a cruiseline transfer? We are on Princess and we fly into Vancouver on the 12th of July and we are taking a Princess transfer from the airport to the pier on the 13th.
  21. I tried it again and it still didn't work. I called Princess and they said they would "open a ticket" for me and I should hear something in 3-5 days. I'm not holding my breath!
  22. Yes - make sure to keep your phone in airplane mode. Try it at home to make sure that it works with your phone.
  23. I'm glad you got it to work! I have done that before and it didn't work but i will try it again.
  24. We decided to book at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel which is attached to the airport so we can walk off the plane and into the hotel without additional shuffling around after traveling all day. It is still expensive but $500 less than the Pan Pacific. It is a little more expensive then other airport hotels that provide free shuttles but we like the convenience. Then we are taking the cruise line transfer from the airport to the pier in the morning. You can also use the skytrain, taxi or uber to the pier. I hope this helps!
