  1. We were on Seadream 2 last month docked next to a regent ship in Casablanca and even that looked too big for us! Would try though for an itinerary we couldn't get on a smaller ship. Or maybe if/when we could no longer get on and off Seadream tenders!
  2. We were just there last month picking up the ship. We stayed several days at the Emerald House Hilton. Great hotel. We liked that it was a short walk to the trams/busses. (Though a LOT of stairs) it wasn't really in the best spot for other things. I didn't really get a feel for a good spot. Ubers are really cheap there so I wouldn't worry about being really closed to the port. What you DO need to worry about is where the ship will be located. About half the people on our voyage had trouble getting to the ship. Many people's drivers just dumped them out. It was quite a sore spot for people as we started our voyage. It said Apolonia cruise terminal, which is easy to find. That's where the big ships were. Seadream was east of there, also called Apolonia but across from the Apolonia metro station. You wouldn't want to walk it with baggage!
  3. Yes. There are 2 small smoking sections outside. Pictures from our anniversary dinner in San tropez last Wednesday.
  4. I confirned this week. The crew money gets divided after each cruise to each non-officer crew member. It is not an emergency or party fund.

  6. Dinner is either inside or out, however, if you want to eat outside when everyone else is eating in. They will accommodate you. I don't think they do the other way around. It's ridiculously windy here right now but some people want to eat outside no matter what!
  7. I just confirmed that for a 7 day cruise it is $99 per device. Not transferable between devices. Also, I can't get phone service on 2nd deck. Have to be outside.
  8. I think a sports jacket is a good idea just for the sake of chillyness. I am currently in Tangiers on SD2. I wish I would have brought a little warmer things. Dining room can be chilly and dining outdoors is windy. No flip flops at dinner. You can probably just pay $10/day with our phone plan also. You will always be close enough for shore service except maybe in the middle of the night. We've stayed on all the decks and don't see value in having a slightly larger window. A little less chance of waves too. We've had no problem with temperature control. It was updated last year. If we're going to do excursions we use the ships. Otherwise we explore on our own.
  9. Both ships received renovations last year. They are exactly the same. Some people prefer one over the other based on the crew but you would never know the difference. Recommend choosing based on the itinerary and schedule.
  10. This is straight out of the current Welcome Aboard information. SeaDream fares include gratuities. Simply writing a note of thanks may reward extraordinary service. For guests insisting on giving something extra we kindly ask you to make a donation to the onboard Crew Welfare Fund that benefits all crew members.
  11. Hey Kendra, don't know if you will see this but my husband Gary and I will be on Lisbon to Nice too! Sarah
  12. Seadream used to be adamant that individuals not be tipped but they seem to have loosened up on that recently. We have never tipped individually and always given to the crew fund. While I understand tipping the cabin steward, you would be hard pressed to pick which waiters, bartenders and other staff to tip. It is a team effort.
  13. On the subject of of the Grand Prix cruise...VERY JEALOUS! I looked at it but we have been to all the ports before and didn't feel like it was a good choice for us. We did a Seadream cruise from Monaco pre-covid. We spent a week in Nice beforehand. I highly recommend doing that, or at least several days. Check out https://www.bestofniceblog.com/ Check out the tourist pass. https://www.frenchrivierapass.com/en We did it with transportation, which worked out well. It also gets you the bus back to Monaco if you want to explore another day. We did the hop on bus , visited the casino, and did a little shopping. As for the race itself, I would get full details on what the ship's excursion will be and cost and consider buying tickets on the open market. I looked at doing a windstar cruise several years ago for the race and the cost was absolutely crazy. I normally do excursions with the cruise line but in this case I'd do some comparison shopping.
  14. I hate to tell you Piaa, but it is sold out already! You'll have to waitlist. For future reference, if you see a "hot" cruise come up that is likely to sell out fast, you can book at that time, then when you are on the ship, cancel for a $50 fee and rebook at the onboard rate. You will have had to put a larger down payment down but lower price overall. I wanted to wait to book Norway in 2025 while we were onboard this May but realized it was booking up so quick it might not be available.
  15. I do have friends that are doing this cruise. It will be their second crossing. Last year they did the other direction. I can tell you that there will be a large group of people that know each other from prior trips. They basically do crossings but not usually the regular Caribbean or Med cruises. I'll be there in Lisbon waiting for you! We are on the following 2 cruises so will go to Lisbon a few days ear;y.
  16. I was just looking at our upcoming cruise paperwork and the copy they send you with your booking has on it whether it is docked or tender.
  17. Yes, price is the same. TA may offer you a $250 spa credit. I've done it both ways. Now I let my TA handle it all.
  18. I see you haven't gotten any responses so I will give you my 2 cents worth. I haven't been to all these ports but much in the Caribbean isn't that different because these ports are small. My husband and I first pick the one place we want to snorkel. I haven't snorkeled at any of these ports. I would then look at what is offered from the ship, even if you want to book separately. We generally don't do many excursions in the Caribbean. I wander the port and go back for lunch and motor sports and lounge at the pool. I DO enjoy doing th.e crew-led bike rides or hikes. Usually there is at least 1 during the week
  19. As far as drinks, I would recommend you try lots of new things. I like to say, I'd like a drink with XXX, something I don't usually drink. They will ask whether you want sweet, or tart, etc. Then I go back to the ones I love. On the day of the caviar flash, I love to do the walk to foxy's on jost can dyke in the morning or to the top of virgin gorda with the crew. (and then drink lots of painkillers!)
  20. You can email sd1-concierge@SeaDream.com and make appointments ahead of time. You can also reserve the front balinese bed in advance this way.
  21. Check out the you tube video posted today showing the new high speed internet and waterslide on SEADREAM II.
  22. I'm looking for anyone that might be sailing with us on this itinerary that might be interested in sharing any private tours in the ports where Seadream has not laid on any excursions. I haven't gotten any in particular in mind but the time is nearing to get some plans locked down.
  23. Naveron, You are so lucky to have gotten to Saba! We have been on 3 itineraries where we were supposed to go there and it's been cancelled each time! (Sometimes BECAUSE of the seas) I know it's not a big issue but one of these days I would like to get there to say Ive been!
  24. Most of the Caribbean "ports" have a dock only big enough for the tender. They aren't even really ports. For instance in St Kitts, you are in a totally different location that the cruise port for the big ships. I wouldn't even worry about it. The tender is constantly coming and going and the ship is closer to land than with a large ship. Most times less than 10 minute transit
  25. I was on a bahama cruise last February after the modernization but they hadn't added the slide. Looks like so much fun. Have B2B in Europe in May but I think it will be more of a Caribbean thing.
