Good morning from warm and sunny San Juan. We had very minor winter conditions this year until the day after we left Boston for our cruise today, talk about good timing! I think we’ll be opening a bottle of champagne this evening when DBIL & DSIL arrive from Minneapolis to join us after escaping winter’s clutches! I like the quote today. Good morning everyone from the Admirals Club in Charlotte awaiting the connection to San Juan. I think that we awoke at the same time as @StLouisCruiserstoday! Seems strange to be traveling on Ash Wednesday but it is what it is. Happy birthday to George Washington. It’s always good to be humble. Good morning, I can’t believe it’s Fat Tuesday already, seems like the Christmas tree just came down. Thanks for the daily report. I’ve only been to St. Johns to snorkel, I hope to stay on island someday. I’m not sure why, but I don’t get very excited about flank steak, it’s got to be because I haven’t had it prepared properly or something. We did what @crewsweepersuggested in 2020 and it was a lovely walk up to El Morro, much nicer than riding in a vehicle with great views along the way. Of course, it would depend on the ability to walk up a hill, not too steep though. Google Earth will show you where the gate is as well as the street inside the city wall.

If I had the time, I’d celebrate read in the bathtub day so that I could finish A Gentleman in Moscow, but unfortunately, I don’t. Happily, the other is a Valentines Day card to my mom. I really enjoy Hemingway’s writing and believe that’s what it must of felt like to him, sounds painful though! Totally agree, the huevos rancheros that we had on the Summit last July were ghastly. They were barely reminiscent of the actual dish. Not sure what others are being served.
