  1. Phew! Thank you all who responded.........That's really good news! Will go ahead and double confirm, just for piece of mind.

Our TA just confirmed with Regent that ALL amenities, as well as shore excursions are included for the third person. They do need to pay for their own air (which we already knew).

  2. I not only want a supervisor, I want the policy in writing, unless they can cite where, in fact, their third person info is published in their catalogs or online. As I said before, perhaps I've missed it....would be really happy if someone out there can point me to it.

  3. Our third is paying for their air. When we booked this cruise, our Regent rep via our travel agent led us to believe other than air "it was ALL included". Yes, it'll be interesting to see what the REAL answer is.

I've looked very hard to find some reference to the third passenger that is not a child in Regent catalogs, online, etc. and if it's out there, it's in mouse print. If someone knows where it talks about the "third adult person", I'd be really grateful. Depending on what transpires, this could be a deal breaker. The Regent rep made no mention of an additional charge for shore excursions; their bad, if in fact there is a charge for them.

  4. We have just booked a cruise for 2015 and are including an adult as a third person. We have the third person rate and there is an air add on which is fine. When our TA spoke to Regent about the third person rate, they said it included "everything".......I assumed (silly me) it included shore excursions as well. I cannot find any reference to just what a third person is entitled to in all of the Regent fine print. If it's in there, I can't find it.........

Can anyone else find it? Travel agent is alerted....this could be a deal breaker, depending on the response.

  5. Although this happened many years ago, it's an example of how charming (and of course talented) the JAR folks are. Our daughter, an aspiring dancer, came with us for a "back stage encounter" with the JARs. Elizabeth asked a million questions as any young person would who's interested in dance would. Long story short, the JAR gals asked Elizabeth to join them backstage before a performance to "stretch out with them and mess around a little". Well, needless to say, it was an experience that E still recounts with glee, even tho she's now 30!

  6. I'm sure the experts on this board will correct me if I'm wrong, but a single supplement would be for a person who is sailing by themselves in a double cabin. It's usually pretty pricey....

The third person fare is for a third person sailing with two others in a double cabin (3 people in the cabin). At least in our case, the third person (a close friend of ours) fare was excellent and includes all perks. They do have to pay extra for their air, but the airfare was so low, you couldn't walk for that price!

  7. Thank you so much! We chose another cabin.......

This is the reason I like cruise critic......not for all the disagreements, snide comments, etc.

This board is particularly bad with back biting. I don't enjoy that at all, but REALLY helpful info like this is why I keep reading.......

Thank you again for taking the time to comment!

    Linda

  8. Still giggling over this one........too funny! Although you did a pretty good job of listing things you don't like, I could add a few......

People who storm the elevator before the other folks have had a chance to get out.

People who chew with their mouths open

People who say "ooooo, how can you eat that?"

People who bump into you (hard), look you in the eye, and not say "excuse me".....

People with no sense of humor.... (IMHO, there's a lot of them on this board!)

"Wife beater" tee shirts on men along with any men's pants being worn below the waist and exposing underwear......

Give me a little time and I'll think of more.....just getting rolling here!

  9. We did basically the same cruise you're considering, a year ago November. Only difference was that we left from Monte Carlo. We loved it! There was plenty to do and the sea time was actually broken up by the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. When we cruised, I actually thought it was a pretty good value......maybe not so much now. As far as clothing goes, you don't have to tote along a lot of formal wear, as there is never a "mandatory" formal evening. John didn't take a tux, only sport coats (I think 2?)and a couple of ties. My most dressy outfits were a long black skirt, dress pants, a couple of silk blouses and a lot of giant silk scarves. They didn't take up any room, and doubled as blankets in colder venues! haha!
