That's correct, also mobile phones. But think its quite rare as I think many people like me will mix credit cards, mobile and cruise card in their pocket and its not often over the years I have had to get a new card.
Three times on embarkation day! It was my mobile that did it!

In the UK it's 18 for all alcohol, but if you're in a restaurant/pub and eating you can have beer with your meal from 16. Not always adhered to though, some will refuse. You're considered an adult at 18 here. After all if you're old enough to die for your country, surely you're old enough to drink.

I'm in the minority too.

I wouldn't recommend Jury's Inn. It's stuck in the middle of a busy roundabout, really strange location. I was told the car park was secure, but it's a public car park under the hotel. The only security that I could see, was CCTV. The restaurant at breakfast was appalling with lots of tables piled high with uncleared plates etc. They also only include a one way transfer to the ship. Because, apparently, they don't know what time you'll be disembarking, and as everyone knows, no one can afford a mobile phone to let them know. My room didn't have a safe either.

Well done Scotland no need to change the flag! Now let's have a vote on independence for England.
Yeah. We're stuck with them now!

In June mine took 5 weeks using the on line service. Got a text to say it was going to the printers. Both old and new arrived next day. The day after that I also got someone else's old passport

P&O, Cunard, Fred Olsen run at least one world cruise every year. I think Oceana are having one next year too. They are a fab way to see the world.

I'm excited to see the changes in person when I bring her back.
Jonathan, you're the new captain! I never knew. Congratulations ;)

At least you seem to have had decent songs. On one of our sailaways it was all WWI songs. I know we're old(ish), but please!

I would rather a cheese and wine buffet. Any takers?
Sold :)

To call Lipton's Yellow Label bags 'tea bags' should be a crime under the Trades Description Act! Most Brits, if they're abroad and order tea and are given that horrible weak tea, just cry! A guy on one of my cruises was an ex tea merchant used to tell (foreign) buyers who asked for quality tea "like Liptons" that the last thing Liptons was, was quality!

Well done. Enjoy your cruises 😀👍

Thanks. I do :D
Notice there appear to be no ports of call in India on the World Cruises just Sri Lanka. Are the Indians making getting Visas too difficult and folk are therefore avoiding cruises that include India ?To be honest, on last years WC it was a pain in the bum for one stop in Mumbai. The photos are not a standard passport size, but square. It was expensive at £48 and you have to use an agent, you can't do it direct with the Indian High Commission. And it takes up a whole page of the passport. I actually went to the agent and dropped off the forms, it took a fair chunk of the afternoon. Much as I love India, I'd be happy to miss out a single stop there and save all the hassle and bureaucratic rigmarole so beloved of the Indians.

WOW what a fantastic lifestyle. How do you manage to get the time off work.......or are you retired?

True Mr B, but the Sydney port schedule for 2017 is out and showing Azura. ;)

Seriously pondering on another full worldie in 2017, depends on the itinerary of course and I still have next years grand voyage first. Might change my mind after that!

Seems to me that would really get old if your on a ship for 30+ days.
Most cruises out of UK/Europe tend to be 12 or 14 days, so that effectively means the same menu 3 or 4 times if you eat in rotation. Not at all happy about that :(

Dave
Is Adonia not doing the Caribbean and the Amazon.
Also the port details for Sydney in 2017 show Azura has been booked in as well as Aurora and Arcadia.
All of which is of little interest to us unless we do the full world cruise.

It's the 2016 schedule that's been issued, a tad early for 2017 ;)

kemenyg there are no plans to bring the wrist bands to any of the ships yet other than the Quantum....but if there are wrist bands I guess I just say I am allergic to plastic they have to give me the sea pass card, or perhaps they won't make the bands mandatory and allow us to choose what we want...I told my daughter about these wrist bands she said they can't make you wear this item if you don't want to so it has to come off, its wrong to tell you what to put onto your body she is right.
And the Anthem. It's the Quantum class ships that will have the RFID bands and you can opt for a standard sea pass card if you wish.
As for DD, I don't mind the idea of it, I enjoyed it on Epic, but I'm not totally enamoured with having the same menu for up to 14 nights. Even if I eat across 3 restaurants, that's effectively the same menu for 4 or 5 nights, not an enticing idea :(

I usually ask them! On cruises out of UK, they often choose sterling, on cruises out of Europe sometimes they'll choose dollars and sometimes Euros. Whatever you give them, they'll be grateful.

Not only do I keep a photo copy if my passport in the room when traveling but I also take a photo of all of my families passports with my smart phone. I do this with all my cruise documents as well. This way it is easy for me to email a copy to my family at home ( just in case) and I have ease of access in an emergency.

I have a copy in Dropbox and on my Kindle too

Tried it on the Aurora last year. Not very good at all. We tried it on one of the legs of the world cruise and didn't bother repeating the exercise on the later legs!
-
Photocopy your passport so you can take the copy on excursions. Saves loosing the real thing!
I write the port agent details on the back of the copy too.

Only time I saw this on board, turned out to be noro.

Hi Guys, I've just found this about the refit. The text doesn't tell us anything new, but the picture is the first rendering that I've ever seen of what she'll look like afterwards. I think she looks OK.
