  1. Does anyone know why NCL Sun will be embarking from the other cruise terminal in Seattle, rather than Bell Harbor/Pier 66 on October 11, 2023? Just curious.
  2. Thank you for the incredibly detailed and descriptive postings. I, too, live in the middle of nowhere on the east side, in the Moses Lake area. I love Bridgeport, what a beautiful place to live. I appreciate your information regarding the Sun. I'm booked to be on board in a week and have never been on this particular ship. It's encouraging to see that this is your favorite ship. I've learned I prefer the smaller ships for Alaska, and I'm hoping the Sun will be a good experience. If you have any specific "secrets" to pass along regarding this particular vessel, I'd love to hear all about them!
  3. I did this on Celebrity and it worked well. Celebrity had agents at the airport luggage claim waiting for you, and took you directly to their bus. Took a nice scenic ride down the coast to Ensenada and right to the ship. There was a large tent-like structure just before you board that had all kinds of little shops, including alcohol.
  4. Interesting question. Looking forward to a definitive answer. Hope you and your companions are all healthy and well.
  5. Just a reminder to bring binoculars. We've spotted lots of animals on shore, in trees and in the water that we'd have missed otherwise. Enjoy your trip!
  6. You mean my "opinion" won't override government regulations of an entire country? 😉 Thank you. This makes perfect sense, which is why I've been fully vaxxed and double boosted and follow all protocols, because I want to minimize the chances of infecting someone ELSE. I'd not consider it unreasonable for Canada to require a negative test two days to prior to stopping in Canada. We'll take along extra tests just to be extra careful.
  7. It is pretty confusing. One one hand, NCL states: Given the relaxation of global protocols and travel requirements, we have updated our health protocols to welcome all guests to sail with us, regardless of vaccination status. Then, a few paragraphs later is states: While we welcome unvaccinated guests, it is the responsibility of the guest to be aware of any local protocols and/or travel restrictions in place at the visiting destinations at the time of sailing. I understand that to mean that although NCL doesn't require vaccinations, the ports of call may indeed require them. For Canada, it states: Proof of completed series of one-dose or two-dose primary vaccination regime at embarkation - And- Provide proof of one of the following: 1. Negative COVID-19 antigen test within two days of the embarkation date So, for me to embark in Seattle on a cruise that stops in Canada, I will need to be fully vaccinated and show proof of recent negative test. ( I think.) It seems less effective to take a test within two days of embarking, since we won't be in Canada until 10 days later. Or am I incorrect, and the test needs to be taken within two days of the Canadian port stop? 😌
  8. I'm not the OP, but will be going there next month. Thank you for sharing information.
  9. 100% agree! Maybe someday Mr/Ms Pcakes will hold a training session for us. What I don't enjoy that others seem to: spending hours upon hours at dining/coffee venues playing cards, crafting, etc. whilst others search for a place to sit to enjoy their meal. What I do enjoy that others don't: Arriving to my departure port the day of sailing. 😱
  10. Agree to all of these. You asked about the "vibe" of Princess. Obviously, what each person enjoys varies greatly, but my overwhelming preference between NCL and Princess is definitely Princess. Food and customer service much better on Princess, entertainment better on NCL. The overall onboard feel of Princess, to me, was very relaxed and laid back. My belief is that Princess tends to skew towards a slightly older demographic, but I've never experienced a stuffy or hoity toity feel onboard. I would suggest that NCL has a more "party" vibe whereas Princess a more refined yet easy going feel. Have a wonderful experience!
  11. I hope you experience no or minimal symptoms. Take care of yourself and recover quickly.
