  1. 50 CAD to 60 USD is more than $10. The exchange rate adds about 35 % onto the 60. So…about $81.00 per day.
  2. It sounds like it worked out quite well for you.
  3. I’d love to see the letter. We finally get to the status that qualifies us for that and away it goes. Also kinda sad about the coffee card…
  4. I’d love to hear more about it. So far, I am not seeing much on the speedy cruise site.
  5. Even some of us that are happily married would do it…especially as we both own shares. Wouldn’t it be great to have two bathrooms, too!
  6. I was looking on the site that is having the big sale. Some of the other sites that are of a box box type, also show only the packages, and then you have to call in for further information and prices. I totally understand how the Princess site works. I have booked with the company that is having the sale in the past, but we went to the location of the cruise company store. That was before I knew better, though.
  7. Were you able to see standard pricing, without the plus/ premium package? I find it hard to compare, without having to call in to get that base rate online here in Canada.
  8. There was also the public bus down by the Empress Hotel for the 2ay back. You’d likely need a bus schedule or something as it was hard to tell the difference between it and the shuttle bus. When we were there, the cruise shuttles outnumbered the busses, that’s for sure.
  9. Yes, there were taxis at the port as well as right across the street from the busses that go back to the ships. Right now, there are no ride share options in Victoria.
  10. Well, we ended up walking over 23000 steps that day, which is a ridiculous amount since we had the car rental, but we went to Butchart Gardens and did a fair bit of wandering around and actually drove into a another little town called Sidney, which also had a beach walk. Enjoy your day there. I hope the weather is kind to you, too.
  11. The shuttle bus earlier this month was 15.00 USD, per person return. We walked to downtown as we had a car rental to pick up and it was a nice morning. At the end of the day, we asked the bus driver how much it was for just a bus ride back and it was 10.00 USD per person. So, less if you book it as a return trip. But….the fee for a taxi would be about 13.00 CAD. There seemed to be plenty of them around downtown, as well. In the end…we walked back.
  12. It will likely be on the 2nd formal night. That’s a small formal night menu, too.
  13. Lobster was offered separately on the Crown Princess April 14 -29 Cruise. I ordered 2, they were tasty.
  14. They already prepaid their gratuities. These are very thoughtful kids who seem to understand having the insurance is important, as well.
  15. That makes total sense. It was the only port on our 21 day cruise that were comfortable enough to rent one. Could be we live just on the mainland across from Victoria, so if we missed the ship...we could have just taken the ferry home.
  16. Wow…that would take up a lot of my valuable time just sitting in a MDR waiting to be served just a lobster. It’s a good idea for those who love hanging out in there, though. I did order 2 lobster on the Crown in April and it was no problem. They were very tasty with the butter, as well.
  17. That’s for sure. I think on the last 21 day cruise we were on, we had a quick buffet dinner 3 times. One of those nights was a formal night, where we just didn’t feel like putting on what we think is appropriate clothes for the occasion.
  18. The attraction is that you don’t need to spend so much time sitting the MDR, or put on pants or a dress or whatever it is you think is suitable for the MDR. I like to be able to grab something quick in my casual daytime attire.
  19. Had the coffee package still been available, that is what we would have chosen. It’s wasn’t…so I took home what little bottles they did have and the soft drinks mostly got left behind. There was no way we would drink 20 waters in the 3 days we had it, since they didn’t set up our mini bar at the beginning of our second half of our btb, which was only 6 nights.
  20. I’m sure it’s beautiful at any time of year. It was a fantastic port day for us. We rented a car and took our time, had some lunch and an ice cream…and wandered around the gardens twice. We felt bad for the people who took ship excursions who were only given 1 and 1/2 hours there. There were 3 Princess ships in port that day.
  21. I can’t believe the difference in just a couple of weeks in the flowers, and even the entrance. We were lucky enough to see all the tulips and daffodils in full bloom.
  22. We also found it difficult to find wifi right at the ports in Hawaii. I assumed it would be like the Caribbean, where it’s pretty easy.
