  1. It was our least favourite time to go. My husband says the water was too cold, I thought it was fine. Yes, we hit a bit of rain, too. Overall it was good, though. He just prefers April because it’s his birthday month. This time, we’re doing a month from late Feb-late March to those wonderful Caribbean waters, so I think we’ll be ok.
  2. I’m wondering if by chance anyone took photos of those particular cabins. I have one booked for Feb. 2024 and would like to see inside as they do seem to be larger by looking at the deck plan.
  3. It was 10.00 pp round trip in April 2022. I see there’s an increase now to 15.00 pp, but I would think it’s still for a round trip.
  4. They might not be able to do anything, but I am pretty sure I’ve read posts before about people handing them in on the ship with some success. That whole new policy was ridiculous, so I would still give it a try.
  5. I think I would head right back to guest services with the proof of your shareholders statement and ask them to add the appropriate credit.
  6. Thanks for the update. I hope your cruise gets better tomorrow. I am really glad you are still having fun. As long as there is decent food, I don’t care too much about the rest of it. We’re booked on her in March.
  7. Somehow I had not considered walking with all our luggage, but of course you are right.
  8. Yes, I agree. I probably won’t ever get to cruise in a full suite, but I don’t understand the attraction of having to make an extra stop if you park a car. It means moving your luggage twice. My least favourite part of a travel day. I guess if you just take an Uber or other public transportation straight there, it might be worth it. You also wouldn’t book the Princess transfer, unless it makes an out stop there.
  9. There are pictures of Majestic E405. Here’s some from the Sky. E405. All were found on Cruise deck plans. I hope this helps.
  10. I don’t believe you will be able to get off the ship, once you check in.
  11. I may have not worded that correctly. What I meant was… people can use their own cash for extra tips, as the daily amount charged to your folio can be “paid” with OBC. So, it feels like I have extra money to give. Of course, that’s for those of us that don’t purchase any kind of bundled cruise package.
  12. Here’s the part that sounds confusing to me. The part that says it forms part of their compensation- separate from bonuses. To me… that sounds like their basic wage. I just pre pay them, or use our OBC, once onboard. I would never consider not paying them. It’s easy to add extra cash tips, since it feels “free” if it’s paid through credits. When Princess removes that option, it will then become a very interesting topic on these boards. Here’s their information, copied directly from the website. All of the Crew Appreciation and Service Charge payments made by all guests on all ships in our fleet are pooled, net of credit card transaction fees. The pooled funds are distributed throughout the year in the form of compensation, including bonuses, to crewmembers fleetwide who interact directly with guests and/or behind the scenes throughout every cruise, including those in the Bar, Dining, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Galley and Onboard Revenue areas.
  13. Thanks so much. I understand that’s how it used to work but doesn’t seem to be the case now. I’m just wondering when they quietly let that printed policy go. Of course, everyone should purchase their own travel/medical insurance, but at least the FCC was something, for those that didn’t.
  14. Did they give you anything in writing stating you will get the FCC? Were you provided a copy of the Positive Covid test that they took? I am glad you were ok, and were able to enjoy the cruise from your balcony. Covid is not over, and it should be common sense if people don’t feel well, to stay away from others as best they can. There are also lots of reasons people cough and if stayed in my cabin because of a cough I often have, I’d miss so much…so I take the stares I get from people and just go about my cruise.
  15. Thanks so much for digging. I’m still wondering when it changed, though. it seems it’s on the rise again, so I’d like to know what the options would be. I have private insurance and I’ll be checking that it’s covered through there, too.
  16. Does anyone know when they dropped the FCC if you or your cabin mate were isolated in your cabin for Covid? I am sure it was there in April, but I don’t see it anymore on the website. I checked in the Cruise with Confidence section and the very small health section.
  17. She told us she was on until September. Something changed, for sure. She was on with us in Mid April. She had been on that ship for awhile before us, too.
  18. I think people should think about how ownership changes could affect your investments and future estate planning. I live in Canada and I have an investment advisor and an accountant that I would check with before I made any changes. There are other reasons to keep the stock than the OBC it provides.
  19. You pay for the speciality dinner venues on Princess, if you reserve online before you board. if you have it included as part of a package, sometimes the dinner credits don’t work and you have to pay upfront and get refunded onboard.
  20. A post from a Princess Cruise Vacation Planner from another very popular social media site. Her name is Jeanine Light. You can even join her page. Attention: CCL Shareholders and Military Benefit OBC! Effective on 8 a.m. PDT on June 29, 2023 for all voyages departing after September 12, 2023, Shareholder and Military Onboard Credits have the following policy changes. • The Shareholder and Military OBC will no longer be combinable with each other. • The Military OBC will be non-refundable. • The Shareholder OBC is currently and will remain non-refundable. Non-Compatibility is at the guest level and not at the booking level. Example Scenarios: 1. Guest 1 has Military, Guest 2 has Shareholders - this is allowed. 2. Guest 1 and Guest 2 both have Military, so neither can have Shareholders. If Guest 3 has Shareholders, this is allowed since they don't have Military.
  21. I agree. It’s going to be interesting if OBC starts getting automatically removed. Some people add up their OBC well before they cruise, and make decisions about the Premium/Plus booking plans based on that. Time will tell…and of course a formal announcement from Princess wouldn’t hurt, either.
  22. I would guess it’s electronic and easy for them to do. As far as the OBC, we use it towards gratuities and sometimes Wi-Fi, since the drink plans are of no use to us.
