  1. Thank you for the info - very helpful in making plans. Has anyone here ever sailed from Fusina? It seems like it's more of a commercial terminal rather than a cruise terminal. Does it have a passenger terminal inside if one arrives early? Thanks, Kevin
  2. Is that pretty much worldwide? Our first Azamara cruise was Dec 2022 out of Miami, and we had 2PM. This June 10 we board Onward in Fusina for a B2B. We're arriving in Venice three days earlier. We want to book transportation to the port on 6/10, but don't want to arrive too early. Thanks, Kevin
  3. Looks like Princess is following HAL's decision to be at sea for the eclipse. Princess just changed to itinerary so we will be at sea for the eclipse, too. Kevin
  4. We didn't have any complaint about the internet speed, as we fully understand the difficulty of satellite internet the farther you get to the poles. It was the 1GB and tying it to one device that was restrictive. When the norm is unlimited, it's hard to adjust to metered, especially with so many background processes that run on devices.
  5. On our Antarctica cruise this year, Nan and I both received 1GB each for the eleven days. It's restricted to the initial device you first register and cannot be changed to another. It was slow, we didn't use it much, and we consumed about 950GB by the last day. You can ask at the reception desk how much you used. You can buy more, but it's expensive - $350 for 5GB.
  6. We were on Onward last month - first AZ cruise. I had registered a card beforehand (online, I believe) and it about three days into the cruise they did a $100 pre-authorization. They charged the balance of my account on the last night. Kevin
  7. That's so nice to hear. I'm glad you all enjoyed the experience.
  8. We had dinner with friends last night who were on the Silver Wind in mid-December. I'm not sure what the sailing date is, but they left Florida on December 10 to fly to Santiago. Their names were Rob & Sue, and they were traveling with their daughter and SIL plus two young grandchildren. They had a great time, too. We're looking forward to the trip - Nan is just nervous about the crossing. Kevin
  9. Which Silversea ship were you on and how rough were the seas and how did the ship handle it? We're leaving for an Antarctica expedition cruise on Atlas' World Traveller on Jan 26. Thanks, Kevin
  10. We've cruised a great deal, but mostly Princess and Celebrity. We're tired of the larger ships so we tried Azamara last month and just got off the Riviera this morning, our first Oceania cruise. Azamara had two shows most night, with the first at 7:15 pm. We liked this first Oceania cruise (booked four more while on board), but also like Azamara (have five more booked with them). Both had pluses and minuses. Having two shows per night was a plus for Azamara. Kevin
  11. Don't mind a 9:30pm show if there was an earlier show, too.
  12. If their market isn't night owls, why does their main show start at 9:30pm?
  13. Understood, and as mentioned by @ToxM, it is an extensive menu. However, in our 30+ cruises, we have never ordered room service. We prefer to eat outside of our cabin. Kevin
  14. This is our first Oceania cruise - the Jan 4 to 14 sailing. We're very disappointed with the very limited dining hours, too. Other cruise lines we've sailed have much longer hours. It's also surprising there aren't any venues after 9 or 9:30 at night.
  15. Sorry. On a cruise ship now and doing this from my phone. I forgot no questions rule. Thanks for the info. Affects how much to bid. Kevin
  16. I'm still a bit confused. If we have a concierge C2 with cruise only fare and we bid on a sky suite and are successful. Do we receive the drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities as part of our sky suite? Thanks, Kevin
  17. Took our first Azamara cruise on Onward last month. Ate in specialties mostly. I wore dress pants and a long sleeve buttoned dress shirt each time and my wife wore a dress each night. There was a variety of dress, some men wearing jackets, but most were dressed country club casual, pants and a collared shirt. Women wore a variety of styles including slacks and tops. There were a few people that, IMO, violated the dress code. There were some t-shirts and dungaree type blue jeans. Didn't let it bother us.
  18. If your fare includes the Classic Beverage Package, can you substitute the Zero Proof Package? Would both guests need to do it? Thanks, Kevin
  19. If there are a lot of cabins available, check with guest services as soon as you board and explain your situation. Tell them you're not looking for a free upgrade, but ask if they have any paid upgrades available. Many ships do and it's generally a fixed price per day depending on what level you're moving from and what you're moving to. Good luck, Kevin
  20. We're on the Jan 4 Riviera cruise, too. It's also our first. Thanks for the tips. Kevin
  21. Thanks for the info. That's waht my papers said for the 1/26 WT sailing. Did you happen to ask if you can pay for more luggage? Thanks, Kevin
  22. Good to hear! Welcome. There's a roll call here: ABC Islands April 6, 2023 - Celebrity Equinox Roll Calls - Cruise Critic Community Kevin
  23. That's the confirmation I was looking for. Works the same as on Princess. Thank you for letting me know. Happy New Year, Kevin
  24. Understood about the travel router. It was two different questions. Thank you for confirming the multi-device info. Seems to make more sense to buy a multi-device package for me and just share the login with my wife rather than buy individual access for both of us. Thanks, Kevin
