  1. We plan on parking at port. DH uses a walker, so I drop off luggage and him, then go park the car. In April we had a great porter and wheelchair assistance from the ship who both took us directly to our car on level 4. I honestly don’t remember which terminal, but it was the one Harmony was at on a Sunday. This time, however, we’ll be on a B2B on Wonder, also in April. Will I need to move the car at the beginning of week two, or can I pay for two weeks at once? Thank you!
  2. Thanks! I’ll check out cruisedeckplans.com.
  3. We have two accessible cabins reserved for April 2023; one on Carnival Mardi Gras and one on Royal's Wonder of the Seas. My husband uses a scooter while cruising. We were lucky enough to have a cabin on Oasis of the Seas this past July that was directly across from the aft elevators and the bed was by the balcony, so it made using the scooter very easy. Does anyone have any photos of accessible cabins on either Mardi Gras or Wonder? Thanks!
  4. Following along! We hadn’t been on Oasis since September 2015, but sailed on her this past July. Really enjoyed the new stuff and was happy the familiar things were still there (e.g., the small wonders). My daughters, who had never cruised before, loved it, as well as one boyfriend and one family (husband and two sons). Unfortunately, the casino was not very “Joan Friendly.” Hope it’s different for you!
  5. My husband used to get sick every time we flew somewhere. He eventually learned to turn off the fan above him or at least not let it blow in his face. We've been told that it's impossible to get sick from that, but... No colds since! We got off Oasis on July 15. We had taken a car trip to NJ, RI, then back to NJ, beginning July 3, eating out and rarely wearing a mask. We tested negative on July 6 and didn't get off the ship until Coco Cay (Tuesday, I believe). I started masking again in elevators, but evidently not enough. I had a sore throat on the 15th (Friday) but tested negative. My nose started to run on the 16th and tested positive. Started Paxlovid on the 18th. I probably would have felt better sooner, but for all the meds (antibiotics, antiviral, cough suppressant) by PCP had me on. There were 8 in our party. Just my husband and I were sick, no one else tested positive. I blame it on the Casino!! We're vaccinated and boosted (once). Still wearing masks in stores, but we try to limit going into them. Will get the new booster when the time is right (I understand I have to wait a few months after having the virus). Oasis was our fourth cruise since November. Guess our luck ran out!
  6. My traditional welcome aboard drink has been a Caribbean Mule on the last couple of Royal cruises, but I really like a Miami Vice with Kraken float or a dirty Martini or regular Martini from the Schooner Bar, as well as any frozen Margarita (lime) from the Schooner Bar. Heck -- I just enjoying drinking! Even a glass of Reisling with dinner.
  7. The Scooter, rented directly from Royal -- Special Needs at Sea, was great! Easy to manuever around and hubby learned to even back it into the cabin at night (our cabin was in a direct path to the elevator and had the sofa by the closet) for easy charging. He was even able to take if off the ship in Coco Cay (our only day off the ship), use it on the HC tram around the island. We got off at the paved path to the Oasis Lagoon zero-entry end, left it nearby to enjoy the pool. We even found the paved area in the lunch buffet area. I got the food for us -- used to that! He drove it back to the ship, while i walked. It made for a great cruise (albeit we both caught Covid by our last day).
  8. My husband has spinal stenosis, so walking is very painful for him. He bought a nice rollator (from Amazon) to take with him on our two April cruises, the first was the Celebrity Apex. He found it moved too fast for him (even with the brakes on continuously), since he can't walk at a normal pace. He ditched it for the following cruise (Harmoney of the Seas) and used his cane. He's been in a lot of pain since he's been home. In fact, a scooter (from Special Needs at Sea) has been rented for our cruise next month on Oasis. My advice is for your wife to practice, practice, practice!
  9. Do you happen to have a link to that video? I can't seem to find the correct one. Thanks!
  10. I was unsure if we'd get double points on our Harmony JS cruise in April. It had been originally booked on Symphony while on Anthem in 2019. Then cancelled by us in 2020; rebooked on Harmony shortly thereafter and cancelled by them in 2021. I knew we'd get double points being in a Junior Suite, but was unsure about quadruple points, as we were thisclose to D+. Lo and behold, Royal came through for us and now we'll be D+ on our Oasis cruise in July. Not losing much money on us, as rarely did we each have our four Diamond drinks daily -- more often than not, only two or three. Enjoy the DL!
  11. We just saw him on Celebrity Apex, April 16-23, 2022, out of Fort Lauderdale. Coincidentally, saw Gary Caouette on Harmony of the Seas (Royal) the following week. Are they brothers? Took a deep dive into the internet, but can’t find confirmation. Both very funny.
