  1. We were on Oasis in July 2022. Neither of us can remember seeing the sand artist. I’ll have to ask our daughter—she and her younger sister were with us. I do remember seeing the sand artist on our our previous Oasis cruises, tho (2012 and 2015). We always pack pens and sticky notes, since it’s been years since I’ve seen anything in the cabin. We were on Celebrity last spring, and they still had a pen in the cabin! C’mon, Royal, catch up, will ya?
  2. We gave our wristbands from that Quantum cruise to two of our grandsons. They were not impressed, so who knows what happened to them. Pat didn't like it anyway. Wouldn't stay closed on his wrist. And the only time it was worthwhile was opening the cabin door.
  3. As much as we'd love to, we generally hole up at home in January and February. No plans, as one never knows about snow here "in the south." Easy for all the Floridians to travel in the winter! 😉
  4. There were 364 webcam viewers as Oasis left. Did you see me wave? I kept looking for the Canadian flag on Andrew's balcony, but never did see it. Only 313 viewers now. And one less, as I'm going to eat dinner now. Y'All have fun!
  5. Have a wonderful cruise, All! I wish I were there, finally meeting all the names and "lives" I've been reading for years! However, have my own B2B cruise on Wonder next month, so... We've had snow flurries as well today...and snowing again. Either give us a measurable snowfall or call it quits for the year! So glad I'm retired so don't have to worry about getting to work anymore -- just too many doctors' appointments (my brother did warn me...)!
  6. I was in schools in East Greenwich (the town just north of North Kingstown). We had lots of sailors' and SeaBees' kids in elementary school before the Navy pulled out in 1970 or so. EG was a great place in the 50s and 60s!
  7. When I started reading and following along, there were just 9 pages, which is bad enough -- then we had dinner -- now at 14! But now I'm caught up and wish you nothing but smooth seas and memories of the fun times you'll have!! In that vein, we had some Kraken with our Diet Cokes -- hubby is hooked now! Can we get a Kraken and DC in the theater? Questions for @Momof3gurlz and @jk04, 1) We grew up in RI, too! Have lived in Virginia (northern) since 1976, but RI is still "home." East Greenwich for me and Warwick for DH. 2) jk04, is that a red wheaten Scottie in your profile pic? We have an 11-yo all black male. Sometimes hard to tell with such a small picture, but the size and ears, make me think so. Safe travels for everyone not in Miami yet!
  8. Obviously food is very subjective. DH loves curries; I don’t care for the taste. There are two Indian dishes I like—butter chicken and the saucy chickpeas. Mostly it’s the heat/hot spices I can’t do. If he wants lamb curry, it’s has to be on a night when I won’t be home for dinner, or I agree to Thai food (he loves panang curry with chicken—hold the veg!). I’m a no on an Indian specialty restaurant.
  9. We're sailing on the Wonder on April 16. I was just able to book our shows on the website. My husband looked on the app and nothing was there. If you decided to book onboard, don't forget to switch to the Royal internet! Don't ask how I know that!
  10. Thank you all for your hard work on this list! I have no additions to add (Yay!). Just wanted to add my thanks!
  11. Following along! Thank you for the info on a B2B. We’ll be on a B2B on Wonder in April, our first since 2012. Hope I can get our cards back—I have them all since our first cruise in 2004. I like the idea of “losing” my card. I think my last card had the peeling issue. Our first B2B was on Allure in 2011; followed by a B2B on Oasis in 2012. Unfortunately, we have to change cabins this year—like Brillohead, we decided after a few days later to book the second week. Our TA is supposed to checking for consecutive handicapped cabins.
  12. We were on Celebrity Apex in April, 2022. Bimini was our "replacement" port when it was finally switched from Key West. We never got off the ship.
  13. Yes, he bought a nice rollator (it also has a zipper bag under the seat for storage) from Amazon. He found the marble floors on Celebrity Apex to be too slippery and slick for him. The rollator, even with the brakes on, moved faster than he could. He does better with his regular walker. He even used it at a local park, on gravel paths, hoping scuffing the wheels would help, but he still didn’t care for it. You’ll probably be fine as long as you can still move at a regular pace, just need some extra support.
  14. My travel agent called Special Needs at Sea and confirmed that for our particular cruise (Wonder of the Seas, April 2023), scooters will still be delivered to the cabin. Even tho my husband will have his walker with him (he still hates the rollator), he’ll have wheelchair transport on and off the ship. Those ramps can be steep and long!
  15. Did this include scooters from Special Needs at Sea? Thanks, again.
  16. Is this new at Port Canaveral? DH used a scooter for the first time out of Cape Liberty in July. It was in our cabin when we boarded. We’re cruising on Wonder out of PC in April, renting another scooter from Special Needs at Sea, and staying in an accessible cabin. Our TA has also requested (or will request) wheelchair assistance for boarding and debarking. It’ll be nice (and a lot easier on me) to have the scooter when boarding the ship. thanks,
  17. If my numbers are correct, only 70 more cruises until we reach P after our B2B in April! We’ll end up with 210 points at that time, so hoping we get our 2nd glass block. Our first one was from Anthem. I really wanted to be D+ for the Bridge tour, but it doesn’t look like that’ll be back anytime soon. We haven’t used all our drink vouchers yet, neither 4 nor 5! Maybe on Wonder… Right now Caribbean cruising is easy for us, since it’s hard for DH to get around ships. We will be renting scooters and have accessibile cabins booked. We’d love to do Europe, but there’s just too much walking involved, and the ports don’t look too scooter friendly. And tender ports don’t work at all these days. We were Diamond for 10 years; don’t think we’ll live long enough to see Pinnacle. It’s okay. I would like to experience a full suite at least once, tho.
  18. We tested in July out of Cape Liberty, going to Bahamas. There were 8 of us cruising together, all vaccinated (including our 6-year-old grandson). My husband and I both tested positive the day after that cruise (our fourth since the restart). Oh well, at least we got to enjoy the cruise. We stop at Labadee in April 2023; I’m reading it as we won’t have to test? Hope not; the testing was the most stressful part of getting ready to cruise!
  19. We sailed on Anthem over last Thanksgiving (2021) and also on Quantum in 2014. On Quantum, Christmas decorations went up on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, but not on Anthem last year. Maybe it’s a ship-by-ship thing. It was disappointing to me, as I had wanted to switch our door magnets! But I survived! 😉
  20. Is Celebrity no longer going to sail from Cape Liberty NJ? I was researching cruises for 2024 and found nothing. I figure someone on here would know! TIA,
