We were looking at a cruise out of Miami on 1-6-25 on the Escape. I went back to the website last night to do a mock booking and it appears that it’s now a 7 day cruise not a 5? Does that seem right? I didn’t feel like we were booking too far into the future and I didn’t expect that to change. I’m pretty bummed. I just can’t pull off a 7 day with vacation time since I’m going on a cruise next month as well. Is that typical that they would still be changing itineraries 6 months out?

Thank you!! I really appreciate the break down. We’re extremely interested in this cruise, most of the short cruises are on smaller older ships with not near as much to do. So obviously this cruise being short and on the Escape, clearly that’s a huge plus. We know we like carnival, we’ve always had a good time. But we’re just thinking of trying something new and the free at sea is definitely intriguing. The only thing that really appeals to me about carnival’s drink package is that it includes specialty coffee, Gatorade, bottled water, and energy drinks as well as the 15 alcohol drinks a day.

Well in this case, my kids are going to be at home with their grandparents. So I absolutely need internet access to keep in touch and make sure they’re ok. So it’s wonderful that you can check out and turn everythign off, that’s just not where I’m at in life. I absolutely wouldn’t be able to do that.

We’re in the beginning stages of planning a kid free birthday cruise for my boyfriend and I. We’re considering several options but one of them is a 4-5 night cruise out of New Orleans. I’m going to get together the options and then let him pick. Neither of us have been to New Orleans before and it would only be 1 night before the cruise. We’re looking for a hotel that’s nice, budget would be $300ish a night and we’d like to be within walking distance of somewhere local to eat, and nightlife. Im sure the French quarter would be a great area for us. But also not too far from the port. Throw out some recommendations for me to check out!

How much is it to upgrade to unlimited WiFi?

Is there room service offered all day? How late at night? Is there a charge for food other than breakfast?

Like really break it down. So I get unlimited alcohol drinks under $15 with the included package. But no coffee or energy drinks? What about Gatorade and water? The specialty dining… how many meals do you get included on a 5 night cruise? You can eat at any specialty place? You still have to pay gratuities correct? Are they billed onto your account or paid in advance? Is the included WiFi unlimited? Decent? We’re looking on a cruise on the Escape if that matters. Anything else I need to know? This would be a first NCL cruise but certainly not our first cruise.

Yes I have. But primarily with carnival. I like carnival, but I also like to explore other options too!

This is exactly my deterrent. For a 3-4 night cruise it’s pretty high and the no drink package makes it hard to commit to that. thank you to everyone who gave me advice. I’m going to keep shopping around. its just hard to justify the cost of virgin when there’s deals out there like NCL is offering with the drink package included that still is cheaper. We have some decisions to make for sure.

It’s on the list of options for sure. Virgin doesn’t have a drink package so that’s a huge deterrent for us.

So when you say late night dancing… what we’re looking for is a venue with music and dancing until like 2-3 am. Not just somewhere you can hop in and get a drink. Like we want a dance club type venue.

Oh also what’s the difference between a balcony and a club balcony suite? Is it a bigger room? Better location? Other perks?

My boyfriend and I are considering doing a 5 night cruise for his birthday in January. We’re liking the cruise deals that offer the WiFi, specialty dining and drink package. The drink package- is it truly unlimited? I know carnival maxes alcohol at 15 a day. What else is included? Celsius? Soda? water? Gatorade? Also what’s the nightlife like? Is there a nightclub? We’re looking at the Escape. We're in our mid 30’s but the bar/club scene is important to us. We don’t want to be on a cruise that goes to bed by 11. What kind of specialty dining is there? Feel free to throw any other info at me. tips, cabins or decks to avoid, general tips etc. This will be a kid free cruise so we plan to live it up!

Depends. When are you searching for a cruise? Is it possible it’s sold out?

I think at minimum possibly patron. But I’d love to have Don but idk if carnival carries Don. Does carnival have Casamigos?

Pig N Anchor has drinks over $20 but they’re the oversized drinks served in mason jars. They’re not your standard bar drink. I had one on the MG but I don’t recall being charged extra for it.
