  1. We on St Bart’s last year for Carnival. It also happened to be my birthday! They had a huge parade (I’m guessing because it was Carnival, not because it was my birthday) with lots of dancing troupes that were really spectacular. It was great fun. I hope your trip works out to have a great Carnival day!
  2. Another vote for Grand Case. Beautiful place and great restaurants. One hotel you might consider there is Hotel L’Esplanade. We love it.
  3. Just got an email from Ritz Carlton cruises. Are they a real thing?
  4. It wasn't when we went last year. I like a Ketel One vodka martini, and had a few on that trip as I recall.
  5. Lots of information in this great report. Thanks 😊
  6. We have been on two previous Cunard voyages (QM2 crossing and QV trip around the UK) and have enjoyed every minute of both. We are considering an Alaska cruise and I am wondering about how Cunard does Alaska, and how it would compare to our previous voyages. Is dinner less formal? Do they require jackets for men? Is there still ballroom dancing? Is there a place to hear and dance to more modern music? Do they host evening parties on occasion? Do they have the traditional tea on some afternoons? Also how are they for excursions? Do most people use Cunard-sponsored excursions, or do most choose independent excursions? Do they still allow you to bring your own wine and alcohol for in-room consumption? Any other things of that nature that might differ from our two previous voyages? Thanks, Doug and Pam
  7. I am not certain, but I am pretty sure the sting rays could zap you with their stinger if they had any objections.
  8. I think a good many people stay at the Hilton. You might want to give it a look,
  9. Exactly. I thought the Retreat Lounge was a Sky Lounge, and that maybe with the new updates, they would be giving the Sky Lounge to the suite guests for M class. Glad to hear I was totally off base. Not sure why you would build a ship without a Sky Lounge though. They are very lovely and quite useful.
  10. Is the Skyview lounge open to all passengers? It’s one of our favorite spots on most Celebrity ships, but as I understood it on our last trip on Edge, it was for suite guests only. We are booked on Millie for our next trip and hope to be able to go there.
  11. Just did it to get a $125 credit back on my Amex. I did it over the phone. Very easy.
  12. I’ve not been on Seabourne, but I have been on Crystal and SeaDream, which are similar. I would say you will enjoy Seabourne. Really, most any line has great people. I know SeaDream and Crystal both had people of all ages and we had a ball on each line. And we are frequent Royal and Celebrity cruisers .
  13. I booked through a TA. No problems calling in. You have to get to a menu that says help with a drink package. I don’t remember for sure but I think I started with “Help with Existing Reservation “
  14. Certainly was on the phone. What I meant was that I did not have to tell them my wife does not drink. In fact, I told them she does drink, just not enough to justify getting her a beer/cocktail drink package.
  15. I didn’t have to do that. I just told them over the phone that I wanted one cocktail drink package, and one non-alcoholic package. The rep had to put me on hold for a minute to get it approved. No problems.
  16. Both adults do not have to get Drink package. One can have a non-alcoholic package, and one the package for beer, wine and cocktails.
  17. We were there in April and booked a taxi on our own. We pre- arranged a pick up time and he was there waiting for us as arranged. Hint: we didn’t pay him until he took us back to the ship. There was no real concern as the beach we went to had a bar with a phone, and we could have called for a pickup as needed. But as mentioned, none was needed. We even snuck in a trip to another beach nearby and still made all aboard with ample room to spare. Enjoy, Tortola has some great spots!
