  1. I try and sit near the back too, That way I don't feel so bad if I leave if they are boring.
  2. Yes, it was George. There was an Australian based English comedian on the first of my four cruises. He was funny. We didn't go to his first show, but heard he was brilliant from other guests. So we went to his next show.
  3. I couldn't help it, I was tired, had a few drinks, the comedian was boring and the friend I was sitting with was enjoying it. My head kept dropping.
  4. The Joke about the people mentioned in your first sentence (got told off for mentioning that word on another post) was funny and very off the cuff, but his other material was so old. The other comedian on the next cruise (some Greek fella off tv) did one show and was pulled from his next show and replaced with Nathan Foley doing a 3rd show due to complaints about the language. I slept thru that comedian.
  5. We left after 5 minutes. Unfortunately he appeared on the last cruise too.
  6. I don't understand your travel agents advice. Other than its usually more expensive for flights, accommodation and cruises during December and January. The weather will better in December and January, but you will still be cold some days. I personally would rather spend more time on the south island than in Auckland.
  7. I didn't look closely. Ask when you first get on board.
  8. The Burger/hotdog/taco place on deck 15 had a pie warmer with Mrs Macs pies, pasties and sausage rolls in it. Thought I would mention it as there is a very long thread on meat pies on here.
  9. no, nor Brisbane. Stayed on board for Brisbane change over got off for both Sydney changeovers. Was given in transit cards if we wanted to go off. Also, didn't have to do muster again.
  10. I just did 4x b2b on coral and I took a self administered rat test prior to boarding. I was asked the result at check in and didn't have to test again.
  11. I forgot to mention this before, but if you are a smoker, (I'm not) the cigarettes for sale behind the bar at the international cafe are only $12.00 Australian per packet For Winfield 25's and a few other brands. A limit of 2 packets per day.
  12. Evening shows are usually 7.30pm and 9.30pm. But on my last 2 cruises they only had 8.30pm show due to low passenger numbers.
  13. I never used it. I kept mine on airplane mode except on land.
  14. A friend on board pointed out to me that you could get reception for your mobile if not in airplane mode for most of the last 2 cruises (that was when he was on board) It was always better on the coast side of the ship, especially out side.
  15. I agree, we liked Joseph the best. William was fun for the music trivia as he is so vain, its amusing to watch him.
  16. Check your dobber pen still works, mums had dried out after 2 and a half years of no cruising.
  17. My mum won the jackpot bingo on the third cruise. She was shaking so much when she came back. They gave her a receipt to take to the casino cashier to get the cash.
  18. Will let you know when I get the credit card bill. Maybe they reduced it because I'm special.
  19. My son said it was $50.00 for the first 10 days, purchasing in advance with elite discount. Maybe that is US dollars, I don't care either way, work pays for it.
  20. I purchased the package a few days before on the app (well my son did, I'm technically challenged) I had read on cruise critic that it was cheaper that way.
  21. Did I mention that I used my mothers elite discount for the internet for the first 2 cruises ($5 a day) and the Princess plus for the next 2 cruises. Had no problems, seemed very fast to me. I even got a friend to install Foxtel onto my phone so that I could watch the F1 race and it worked fine.
  22. I mentioned her on my thread, a voice from hell. Always saying "I know" and "you'll thank me"
  23. It's a Princess thing, You only get another chair or sofa if its a deluxe balcony or mini suite and up. 2 out of 4 of my cruises were with low numbers, still joined in and had fun on all 4. The food was good. Its a cruise, not fine dining. There were many dishes done well.
