  1. Their number of actual cruises shows on the account at age 18, but they should retain the status level their parents earned before they turned 18. So someone could be D+ with any number of points below 175 if their parents were D+ and they were linked to the account by age 18.

That didn't happen to my oldest daughter when she turned 21. She only has the points and C&A level to match those points from the cruises she has been on.Which is why her younger sister who has cruised more often has more points and will reach D+ before her older sister.

  2. On the Rhapsody we were told we could bring our daughter who is 16 and a Diamond member in her own right not because we are diamond entry in to the diamond lounge at anytime. We only ever took her in when we had coffee during the day. As we stay in suites so go to the CL in the evening.

I personally have only ever seen unruly adults in the CL (they were asked to leave) and only well mannered children sitting quietly with there parents.

A friend who is D+ has been told that more and more Diamond lounges are going to be welcoming children .Because there are a lot of diamond members under 21 that have earned the points to be diamond members. And a lot of Diamond members want to take their Diamond member children in to the lounges. It would be nice if they are going to change the rules that they put the details up on their website. To save confusion in on whether children are allowed in the DL or not.

  3. A D+ friend was told that due to the large amount of Diamond members being under the age of 21.That more and more Diamond lounges will be open for all Diamond members no matter the age during the cocktail hours. It seems a lot of Diamond members want to be able to spend this time with their families. One of the reason they start the 3 drink coupons was to free up the DL from crowds and give everyone the choice of where they have their drinks.

  4. It seems to be a concierge thing as we were on the Rhapsody in December and was told we could bring our 16 yr old into DL at any time including the evening drinking time. Also the sign out front said children were welcome at anytime as long as they were with an Adult. We didn't take her in during the evening only during the day when we had coffee. As we were staying in a suite and could go to the CL and didn't want to upset any guess that didn't want children around in the DL. We are booked on the Voyager next year and she will be 17 nearly 18 so we will be interested in seeing what the DL concierge says on that cruise. Before any Diamond members gets upset we wouldn't take her in during the evening as we are staying in a suite so can go to CL.

  5. We have stayed in OS 1300 on the Explorer of the Seas, a sister ship. I can't say there was any more noise than other cabins on deck 10.

I would choose the OS over the GS. The OS cabin is lovely, has a dining table, larger bedroom area, larger living room area, more closets space, separate tub and shower, the only con is the balcony is smaller than the GS.

Enjoy. Either way you can't go wrong!

Thankyou.I think we will go with the OS as with a Teenage daughter the bigger closet space and larger living area will come in handy.

    Thanks again

  6. Your Grand Suite balcony is bigger than the OS balcony on this ship. We had an OS on Adventure, same as on the Voyager. So your decision is based on whether you want a larger balcony or more room in the cabin and bathroom.

How much more is the upgrade?

    Hi

It is about $1000 more and its a 14 night cruise. We do spend a lot of time on our balcony and in our cabin. So still not sure which way to go.Will have to take a vote on bigger balcony or Cabin. I know my daughter will like the big bathroom.

    Thanks for you help

  7. I am traveling with my husband and 17 yr old daughter and have booked Grand Suite 1324 on the Voyager of the seas. We have been offered an up grade to Owners suite 1300. At the moment we have both cabins on hold while we make up our minds. We have sailed in 1324 and love its location. Has anyone got any photos of Owner suite 1300 and is it in a good location. Also if you had the choice which suite would you pick.

    Thanks for you help

  8. Hi Libby,

Also do you happen to know if diamond members get the three drink vouchers on their seapass each day? Apparently it is supposed to be fleet wide but I haven't seen anyone mention it for Australian based cruises.

    :)

    Hi

Yes Diamond members are getting the free drink vouchers on their seapass on cruises from Australia.

We were on the Rhapsody in December and we got our 3 drink vouchers on our seapass each day. You can only use them during the normal cocktail time of 5pm to 8.30pm and not in any restaurants. But you can go to a bar first and get a drink and take it to dinner with you. We found this to be great as we were traveling with non diamond members. So we could have our per dinner drinks with our friends.

    Cheers Trish

  9. My wife is thinking of a royal replenish package. Are any non alcoholic cocktails available in the main dining room?

My nephew had the royal replenish package and he was having a cocktail every night in the main dining room on our last cruise.Their is a floating bar person that comes around taking drink orders and bring you your drink.

  10. Thanks for that Trish. I was beginning to get a little worried. I understand that I may only see the unhappy reviews, but in the last few months they have all been pretty consistent. Luckily the areas that most of the complaints seem to be about are areas that generally dont affect me or my family. (I go on a cruise knowing that I will generally hate the entertainment as I dont like musicals, dancing etc so if it is bad, I dont care) As long as food is ok, bed is good then I should be fine.

I would say however that the RC website is the worst I have ever come across in terms of relevant information for my cruise (and Rhapsody in general). Which I guess why I have come to a forum such as this to get relevant info.

Your input is much appreciated and if you have any last minute tips that would be great too.

Yes I agree the RC website is not good and has not much information on the Rhapsody. My tip for anyone going on a cruise or just going on a cruise ship for the first tims is to go with an open mind.As most people only post a review if they are unhappy about something. We have been on cruises and had people complain about everything including there not being a band near the pool and they did have a band by the pool. Also if you don't like loud musicals don't go to the shows but there are lots of other things to do.I hope you really enjoy your cruise.

    Cheers Trish

  11. Dan I notice in a number of recent reviews of RC's Rhapsody that the passengers have been critical of the ship, crew, food an entertainment. As a frequent cruiser with RC is there some major change within RC that appears to be fueling the bad reviews. Our decision to go with RC was based on past reviews, however recent reviews have not been kind. (we travel this week)

It takes a lot to build up your profile and reputation but it takes very little to smash it and the long term results will not be good (more so in market like Australia, where bad news travels fast).

    Hi

We cruised on the Rhapsody last month and found all the staff and crew lovely and the food was great too.I know a lot of people here in Australia that are very sad to see that it is leaving here.We love RC and will keep cruising on their ships because of their lovely staff and crew.

I hope you enjoy your cruise.

    Cheers Trish
