  1. I'd love to! Yes, please send me the address! Thanks! :)

    Kevin Sheehan, CEO

    7665 Corporate Center Drive

    Miami, Florida

He would love to know about specific staff members that you thought were outstanding and I would also tell him about paying the extra DSC and why you did it. I would also send a copy of the letter to Andy Stuart, Executive Vice President, Passenger Services. Make you keep a copy of the letter for yourself.

  2. I would hope that this is not the LAST posting of your cruise. I would love to hear about getting into Boston and NYC.

I will be on the Gem in May. As I said I had several friends on board The Gem for your cruise (Staff Captain Zeljko Jurac and Sinan and some others). I am glad that cruises like that do not happen very often.

Thank You for taking the time write and post pictures.

  3. I'm just curious, I've seen other threads with similar subjects. Why are passengers interested in knowing who the staff is in advance of sailing? If it was someone you didn't know or didn't like, would you change your cruise? Call me curious from California

I have had 17 cruises with Norwegian. In that time I have met several Senior Staff members that I enjoy being around. I have also met staff members that I would prefer not to sail with again. Would I cancel a cruise if I found out someone was on board that I did not care for, no. Would a book a cruise because a certain Senior Staff member would be on board, YES. I have done that a number of times.

  4. What ship did you book and for what cruise? I am booked on the January 17, 2014 Maiden Voyage of The Getaway from Southampton, United Kingdom to Miami. Nine straight Sea Days-no ports of call. This is my idea of pure heaven.

You might want to look to see if there is a thread already for your cruise. The thread for The Star's April 2013 crossing has been going for more than a year.

I have been on 17 Norwegian cruises on 5 different ships. I would be happy to help if I can. My next cruise is on The Gem on May 11,2013.

  5. Hello all. I just booked my first transatlantic cruise. I've never had to occupy myself for 6 whole days at sea. Two, yes... but 6? I assume that there are things to do, but I'd like a better idea of what NCL offers cruisers for that length of time. Thanks in advance.

On The Roll Call Section, there is a very active thread for this cruise. They have lots of things planned in addition to what will be listed in the "Freestyle Daily". Several people have already done TransAtlantic crossings and can give you an idea of what to expect. I hope you have a wonderful cruise.

  6. Since I will not be in a suite, will I be able to find the concierge and butlers? Will their pictures be posted with the rest? Thanks. Leaving on the Gem on 2/5/13.

If I remember correctly between the Library (forward Deck 12) and the door leading to the pool deck, there should be a very large picture on the wall with all the of the pictures, names and titles of staff. There is a smaller picture in the Bridge Viewing Room (all the way forward port side- left side) of all the Bridge Officers.

    Have great cruise.

  7. I'll report back on my Spirit cruise in mid February for those who are interested. If anyone has current Spirit info applicable now I would be interested too.

To the best of my knowledge these 3 gentlemen should be aboard The Spirit for your cruise:

    Captain Lars Bengtsson

    Chief Officer Timur Butkovic

Food and Beverage Director Ivo Belev

I hope you have a wonderful cruise. I love The Spirit and Her staff.

  8. Our Captain on the last cruise said "auto pilot". :D

Ok, I have to know, what ship is this Captain Lars on? Sounds like my kind of ship!

Captain Lars Bengtsson is on The Spirit. Before that he was on The Pearl. He is very very funny man. One of is very favorite sayings as he begins his announcements is: "This is a voice from above". It refers to the fact that the PA speakers are in the ceiling.

  9. We will be on the Jewel May 26th in a suite. Who would I ask to arrange a dinner with an officer? Thanks.

Check with the Guest Services Desk, and ask if there will be an Officers Dinner during your cruise. Then ask to be put on the list. If you are selected, you will be notified of the date, place, time, a meeting place and which officer. It is usually an very nice evening. Enjoy!!

  10. Dining with an officer is something I never really cared to do in the past. However, this past week I was convinced to put my name in. My wife and I along with her sister and husband ate with the Staff Captain. It was just the 5 of us and it was a very enjoyable evening.

A couple of tips, If you see the HD at the meet and greet mention how you hope your name gets drawn. Not a sure thing of course, but you never know. And if everyone starts doing it . . .

Tip number 2, you might want to order what your officer orders. He had a Strip larger and nicer looking than the Cagneys 10oz.

What ship were you on? I love signing up for the Officer's Dinner. I sign up with at the Guest Services Desk as soon as I board. It is always a wonderful experience.
