  1. I would be afraid of motion... Have those of you that have posted not had cruses with quite a bit of motion on that higher deck? I haven't booked that high since we were on a cruise sailing straight into gale force winds. Have been on two cruises where the Retreat pool was shut down for motion and winds. We were on Deck 15.
  2. Wow, the balconies on those AFT cabins look amazing! I believe that the ones, just below them, on Deck 8, will also be fully covered by D736 and D737. But looks like these are sold as Mini-suites.
  3. Welcome to Princess! To explain, The 'Premium' refers' to the deeper balconies on this deck that are more mid-ship, and to AFT wake-view balconies on the ship. Unfortunately, on this class of ship, you do have to book a Mini-suite to have any seating. If you have looked at videos and have seen the barrel chair, Princess has removed them from the staterooms. Know that the Mini-suites on Dolphin Deck 9 decks have open, un-covered, balconies. You might look at Mini-suites on Deck 8 Emerald Deck.
  4. Same here! I looked to find an Agency TA that was within driving distance. And I think we lucked out! We had finally found a pretty good one, but then she was promoted to a management position, and no longer handles bookings.
  5. We would also get more than the $30. pp per day, as the small OBC offered by this agency is also still included. Again, we would not re-book anything that was booked quite some time ago, at a much cheaper fare. But, this could be a good deal if somebody is considering a cruise that they have not booked well in advance.
  6. The SUN is still a new ship... Is there an itinerary that you are leaning towards? In addition to the thing where we can not know how the launch will go... We do not know if there will be design changes and any real differences between the two ships. I think this could still be a work-in-progress as the see how things are going on the SUN. For many long time Princess cruisers, I think these ships are a real departure from the Princess we have known. These ships are big, full of glitz, big screens... ( Pool Deck, Piazza/Lobby, Dome...) etc... Just like there are probably significant differences in some of the Royal Caribbean ships. As a first time Princess cruiser, this wouldn't have any influence on your decision!
  7. The overhang is significant. Also, there are those blue lights there along the bottom of the Sea Walk. I believe I can find a picture or video for you, from Enchanted or another Royal Class ship... But, do not have the time until later. I will try to post this for you later if still needed.
  8. Just to clarify..... FYI to any who are confused the title "Princess 3 Day Sale". This is NOT a Princess sale. It is a sale (maybe collaboration with Princess) offered annually by one of the BIG online agencies. Unless there is a 'group discount' rate, then the fares are often what is shown on Princess. For a Balcony cabin, this Promo offers $30.00 USD per person, per day. So, on a 10 day cruise, for two guests, that is $600.00. (less OBC for additional guest in the cabin) It is being reported that you do NOT have to book with a PLUS or PREMIUM package, so this OBC could be used to get the package when you board. Also, as usual, there are quite a few different Princess promo codes out there. I understand that this 3 Day Sale can not be booked with the 3rd/4th passenger free promo. So, if a family is booking with three or four in the cabin, they would have to pay the 3rd/4th passenger rate to book with this Agencies 3 Day Sale. The math does not come out well with that one.
  9. Wow, it is not showing any balconies to be selected either. Either something is going on, or is this sailing, less than one year out, already heavily sold??? edited to add: There are NO cabins in any category showing up for selection. Something going on with this one???
  10. For one example, A short 7 day on the SUN princess next June is showing that the fare is $181.00 to select your room, instead of just GTY.
  11. Teechur... You CAN select your room... If you can select a room on the Princess web-site then you should also be able to select a room with this Agency. The $100. difference might be the increased 'Select Your Room' fare that Princess has been doing on some sailings. The cruise that we are looking at is the same price that Princess shows. (no discount or 'group rate' on that one ) Our problem is that we want a Deluxe Balcony for just the two of us. And, Princess is only showing them for selecting for three or more guests. What sailing are you looking at???
  12. That's the way to do it... go with what works!!!
  13. Yes, one of the absolute rudest things!!!!! People have seen tables sitting there, all set up, nobody there, but a sign saying 'do not move/disturb/touch' the game or puzzle. Ugggghhhh!!!! There should be times during the day when there are unused venues. Maybe they do open a dining room.... But, in the evening when all venues are up and running... that would be a challenge.
  14. Hahahaha!!! Navy Vet, Of course I have had bar servers offer to summon a wheelchair when I had to turn down that additional drink!!! They could just 'wheel' you off the ship!!!
  15. Felicia... The total OBC will show on your booking. It is one total, waiting there. It sounds as if this applies when one already books with PLUS, but this does not seem to be the case. They will be very very happy to book any package when you board. This type of OBC is always non-refudible. Use it on that sailing. Dog, we would def. make very good use of all of the Plus inclusions!!! NO problem here. But, if it does not work out that way for everyone, then you are right. Maybe one doesn't even really want to try to spend that OBC. Are you sure you wouldn't really like having everything, no 'tab'... Maybe you would appreciate it more than you think???
  16. It all depends... and they could start with the early ones, and open additional later ones??? There is one excursion that I would go with a third party excursion operator, because Princess is just TOO early. Like, roll your eyes early. There was one excursion that we did not do on our own, but with Princess did not leave until after lunch, and got back as the Sun was getting low. (Winter) It just all depends!
  17. Yes, we will not be re-booking.... Princess current fares have gone up SO much over the last few months. Looking at a future cruise, and the $30.00 pp, per day, adds up! And, it should be $30.00 per person per day. Plus another tiny OBC amount that was already on there from the Agency. We would not have to book with the PLUS package. So, if we wanted to use this OBC to help cover the cost of a package, that would work out. Sanctuary, Spa, Specialty Dining.... we could do that!
  18. Anubi.... Dry Dock is next March. I have not been on this ship before, because it has no Sanctuary, and we always try to spend time there. There could be some changes.... You can contact me if you would like!
  19. Hahaha!!! birth!!! I suppose that should be berth.... Surro, It might be easier to have a TA help with this, as you are concerned with the connecting cabins, dining, etc... If you want to look at what might be available, on a computer, pull up two screens... On one screen pull up the Majestic's deck plans, and click on connecting cabins... you can do the same to look for cabins that will take more than two guests. Look at what is showing available, and reference back and forth. I also think that they will want to put you at two tables. Link your cruise/dining reservations, with each cabin picking the same time, large table, etc. They should be happy to set up what you need... do this when you board. And, another thing, the Majestic is going into dry dock next March... Know that there could be some changes to this ship.
  20. Perhaps it is now more all-inclusive??? I hear that there is still no guarantee of loungers on the beach, as resort guests will be there and will have priority. So, could be pool and pool loungers, but take a towel down to the beach. The itinerary we are looking at has only one ship at Aruba (as of now). We might be lucky!!! We are hoping to go to the Renaissance Island, and then to see Eagle Beach. I am thinking to get dropped off at the small park where Coco Loco is at. I know of one couple who went there later in the day, at the end of a tour, and all loungers were sold out. I hope to avoid the issues from the nearby facility... and also I believe that is the more crowded end of the beach. Only. problem is, we would not get to see and take photos of the infamous Fofoti Trees. According to a well known locals beach-walk videos, it is almost 30 minutes between the two!
  21. I remember seeing 'LIVE' threads, maybe just last Thanksgiving. You might do a search. To be honest, the Thanksgiving Turkey dinner did not look really great. I think what I saw was all served on a regular sized plate, with some cranberry 'sauce' on the plate, running everywhere. Not a huge Thanksgiving Feast. Maybe the Buffet would give the options and the larger servings??? But I would prefer a sit down meal for a holiday. Then again, it is Thanksgiving on a cruise!!!! Happy Dance!!!!
  22. Yes! and those windows look amazing!!!! I hope you are able to get some kind of table. And enjoy your cruise in that cabin! I was jus pointing out that this this seems like a similar situation. Princess Policy... and NO consistency. Which means, that unless somebody who has traveled in one of these recently, there really is no good answer.
  23. Okay.... Newsflash... The ongoing 'Sale' has been extended for 24 hours ( or 48 hours - depending on which date you were looking at for the expiration. ) Now says June 6, 2020. This is almost funny! But really it isn't. So, no change for those who plan on booking during that 3 Day Sale.
  24. This sounds like the situation with wanting some kind of extra chair, or table, on a standard balcony. And, Princess seems to have a policy against this. I don't know if their 'reason' is safety, or what? There must be some reason that there is not any little side-table in these cabins? Anyhow, Princess is not known for being consistent. It might depend on how obliging your steward might be, and if there is some kind of small table handy/available to them. I have brought something to make the legs longer on the table in a balcony cabin, and a piece of heavy cardboard, which is folded and taped in half, to then open up, and cover with a small tablecloth.
  25. GK95, Princess had originally indicated that the current sale, was a continuation of the ongoing Promo, until the end of June. THEN they even had a big Countdown Clock the other day, that indicated that this current offer ends after tonight. When reading the fine print, the offer says 'until June 4'. I see no big changes in what I am looking at. Not n the current offer or the fares. I have booked very early, and the fares have gone up, a LOT!!!! No way I am doing anything to our bookings! If Princess is being tight lipped with no clues as to what they are going to offer next, then we will all have to wait and see. If the new offer is a higher 'percent off', instead of 3rd and 4th guest free, then that works out well for us, as we do not travel with more than two in a small cruise cabin!
