  1. There are def. videos from other ships like this where others were parked there, literally almost leaning back their loungers on the front of the balcony. You still might want to make sure that the loungers right outside your balcony are 'hogged'.
  2. Ohhh my.... Watching them try to pour that 'glop' with semi-solid onions out of that pitcher, designed for liquid, into that bowl... And, the brown color as well... something just nasty about that visual. Just WRONG.... I have no problem with a pourable soup... But it has to make sense. French onion soup is NOT supposed to be prepared this way. But, how did it taste...was that shredded cheese over that bread?
  3. " I can tell you that it involves deep breathing, a mantra and the Serenity Prayer." Amen and AMEN!!!! Love that!!! Again, I have posted on this topic of the Sanctuary, not just because I want to whine and kvetch etc.. But, because I think that Princess should hear all of our concerns as they attempt (attempt) to iron this out. Their lack of any cohesive policy, changing course mid-stream, and having no transparency... that is what has added to all of this conjecture and discussion.
  4. CanadianBurger... Wow! that pasta dish looks GREAT!!! There is no way we can thank you enough for all you are posting here for us.
  5. Osa, I believe mid-ship can be better than forward, especially when there are large rolling waves (high seas). But, yes, the lower deck will be good. Ended up on deck 15 forward once... whoa.. a bit to much motion for me.
  6. I will just say that JJ cruise are not the one's to look for when seeking information about Princess Cruises... NOT their forte.
  7. What is needed is to understand that "Sanctuary" has been an adult only area.. thus the name... A Suite Sundeck, would be a "Suite guests area"... which would include all ages. The deck plans clearly show two areas, and two names for these areas. THIS is the big question/confusion. Princess has been flying by the seat of their pants, and have not adequately thought this out and implemented. Hasn't it been posted a possible age 16+ restriction? I imagine that those less than 18 or 16 are welcome to the Suite Breakfast.
  8. Quick question... can we see on the new APP what the menu of food and drinks are for delivery thru the Medallion, to your location onboard? We have not used this before... as we don't mind getting up and grabbing what we want, but I can see us using this on the Sun!
  9. Abbey, The price for the Thermal Suite for the length the cruise can vary, possibly depending on the itinerary, length voyage, etc... I have heard some mention that the pass for their 10 day voyage was about $200. or about 20.00 per day. (do not remember if this was specific to the Sun?) The price for a 5 night/day voyage seems to be $123. if I am remembering correctly. Day passes do not seem to be available before boarding... perhaps these are on a first-come-first-served basis each day, depending on how many of the cruise duration passes are sold. I have heard that the Thermal Suite is available (supposedly) for up to a certain limited number of guests. This means that you might not be able to book a day pass until the day after boarding, the first full day of the cruise. I hope to hear more about this from those who are sailing the Sun Princess!!! This new ship could have their own unique system!
  10. I also thank those who have just posted their recent experience... and we are looking forward to bing on the Enchanted.. Hoping it will also be great when we finally board... but that is months from now!
  11. "Squish like grape." Love this!!! I totally agree. Those who are saying that this discussion is just 'whiners'... 'go. cruise elsewhere', etc... are totally missing the point. And that isn't a positive or even acceptable response. I had said earlier that Princess has NOT been transparent about this. And they still aren't. That is the reason for all of this discussion and possible disappointment. Not 'us'. Trying to follow this and figure it out, as well as being disappointed if one of the biggest venues/priorities, for us, on a Princess ship ( or any ship) is the Sanctuary as an adult only 'retreat' - that is valid. The deck plans, from the very very beginning, have shown BOTH a sanctuary and a Suite area. There is an actual bar/gate separating these areas. Which I also believe they could now use to have small 'adult' area' and also a family suite area. And, make no mistake... a bar-gate is not necessary for that... That was not the purpose of having that there. Signage and the Sanctuary staff should be adequate. Princess, once again, in all of it's wisdom has made some mistakes here... And they are trying to back-peddle, big time. I am willing to be patient and watch to see what unfolds - as we will not be on the Sun in the near future... But I, and hopefully many others here, are quick to comment because we want to know that Princess does hear all of this. (there is some indication that there are 'suites' onboard and that this CC board might also be seen.)
  12. Great!!! Just curious, what type of cabin??? Hope you enjoy!
  13. For the original poster... There is a nice 'PORT' area with some shopping. If you watch the videos, you will see what many are saying about no-shade. Many take the water-taxi over to the pier on Great Bay, Phillipsburg, the boardwalk. I did a quick search and this first video might give you a good idea what it is like. Then there is another video of walking thru the Port, I think from the furthest pier.. to the water-taxi, and the ride over. Many videos out there walking along the boardwalk there at the Great Bay Beach area as well.
  14. 1. It seems like the Emerald Princess does not always get the greatest reviews... Don't know why this would be. But seem like something I noticed. 2. The Enchanted is newer... yes, still the showers with curtain in the balcony cabins.. But I believe the shower is a bit bigger on these Royal Class Ships. 3. If you cruised after the Pandemic when the going was still a bit rough, post re-start, that could also have been an issue. 4. Know that the food and service can vary, as staff are changed out. A better Executive Chef, a more adequately staffed kitchen and dining and bars can make a big difference. It is mid-March now... I do not know if there might be a noticeable changeover before you sail. Just know that the food and service, as well as the entertainment, can vary. 5. We have a cruise booked on the Enchanted. We do not expect it to be wonderful and 'perfect' in every aspect. But we are very much looking forward to it! Just sayin'.... the tip to. wet down the shower curtain so that it it isn't a light, billowing, 'friendly', creature is key!
  15. Try CHAT, (if it is operating) I wish I knew a good Princess Planner. (wish somebody might contact me with some info) I would also recommend that you request a Planner, that might be able to. help you. I do not have one, and have not since the one we were assigned was useless and went totally AWOL. Good luck!
  16. Now that is an idea! To confirm, is this tea for ELITE only.. no platinum. There is now a photo posted that seems to show padding being added to even more of those loungers. So, if there is any access at all for non-suite guests, that might be a good thing!
  17. Yes, it is definitely different strokes for different folks! But, I do think that this 'diner' will be popular. I have heard good reviews of the burgers, ribs, and that you have to try that banana split. (that is on our list!)
  18. How can we all thank you enough!!!! We are all indebted. We SO appreciate all of your incredible information and photos. That is interesting to know if that aft staircase will remain open and available! Will just say quickly that your photo does seem to show that they are adding the lounger pads - so that is good too!
  19. We are wishing you good luck and happy sailing!!!
  20. Just because there are other areas onboard, it seems obvious that there are no other areas that are adult. (16+) only. A ship of this size with absolutely NO adult area. Seriously... this is a problem. And, of course there is the issue of comfortable padded loungers. I don't think I need to say more.
  21. Yes... Call now... We do not know if they can truly call this an upgrade unless we know where the cabin is. Have they moved you from an AFT to a mid-AFT.. or from a FWD to a mid-FWD. If they moved you and it isn't an upgrade, then they can not 'claim' that they moved you to a better cabin. What is the actual category of the cabin you had, and the one they moved you to. Expect that you will have to be calm, and very persistent, until you have somebody (some kind of manager) to help you handle this.
  22. True! not a huge difference. I am wondering, and I don't think that there is any info or videos... The difference between these as a category Deluxe or Premium might be whether the loungers can be included. I would actually rather have a nice standard height table!
  23. Just a small note... about the cabins on the Sphere. One might imagine that the sphere is the same both forward and aft. Like mirror image, when it comes to how it is lined up with cabins. But, looking at the deck plans, the sphere is not exactly equal in how the cabins line up. We are looking at the first cabin on the sphere.. and I notice on the photos (which all seem to be from the AFT!!!) that the curve of the sphere might make that balcony slightly larger than the first balcony on the front of the sphere. The curved sphere glass seems to overlap a foot or two over onto the adjoining straight balcony, when one looks at deck 11.
  24. Yes, THANK YOU so very much!!! You are a real god-send to us who are still here at home! And, I also agree with this post above, and will issue a huge 'ditto' verbatim... Especially noting that there does not seem to be any adult area, at all, unless one is in a Suite. 😮 I notice the 'not well thought out' comment... I am wondering if Princess, in all of their infinite wisdom and planning, realized that the gated AFT "signature Sun Deck" ( and there does seem to be a gate) is just woefully in adequate for the number of Suite Guests.. so they just took any hope of an adult area or "Sanctuary" away from the rest of us lowly gutter dwellers.
  25. Thanks everyone... The cabin we want is only available on the Port side.. We would be the only large ship there that day... And will be there until later at night. But, looks like there will be no way to tell if we will be on the right side for that harbor view!
