  1. Not sure when your final payment is coming up... But, remember... The first couple of sailings did have these 'new ship' growing pains... Also, dining reservations have been slow to become available... Yours should show up soon. This might be because of the new 'system' and the new venues on the Sun. Well known that they are working on this. ( I don't think that 'status' is a factor?) There is probably a lot to like about the new ship! I would wait until the last moment, and consider only the latest reviews. I have seen reviews of not-so-stellar food... but also positive reviews! Mention of better beef onboard... And, yes, some dishes and recipes might be adjusted. I understand Rudi has been onboard and has been receptive.
  2. I totally understand how you feel... Princess has a way of being this way. And, it isn't good. We received notice of a little extra OBC.. Great!!! Our TA had somehow put a hold on a full 14 day cruise, instead of the one 7 day. Well, we went to correct that 'hold' and book the 7 day that we wanted... BECAUSE OF THAT 'HOLD' THEN THIS WAS NOT A 'NEW BOOKING' AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT PRINCESS WAS GOING TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR GIVE ONE LITTLE BIT. The problem is not the selective marketing... but it is HOW Princess is handling this kind of thing. To be lame enough to 'take-back' an OBC that was there... That is a real problem, and shows a serious lack of respect for the loyal customers. We have enjoyed the Princess product onboard (for the most part). But Princess CORPORATE has a lot of issues. Totally unacceptable lack of decent customer service, look at the fiasco that was the roll-out of the new ship. etc.... I don't know what is going on with at a corporate level, all the way up to a man whom I will not name... But, something is very very wrong.
  3. Katie, I am NO expert... But, to make an educated guess, Magen's Bey, of course, is developed and run as a St Thomas 'Park'. with chair rentals, drinks food etc.. (Should be $40. for one setup - two chairs with umbrella) If there is Sargassum at Orient Bay... (which, I am so sorry to hear that you are seeing this.. It was reported as mostly clear recently). then Magen's is also the best bet to avoid the Sargassum. Sapphire beach seems to be another beautiful beach. Does have some rock/coral/ironshore. Magen's Bay will be more of the sandy bottom. PS: I would love if you could, someday soon, post some photos or info, like on TripAdvisor listing for Orient Bay Beach! It would be nice to see the current conditions. We are hoping to visit next Feb... and I believe it will be hit or miss for the Seaweed.
  4. We also like a good Moscato.... Do you have a specific favorite or two? Or just one's that are found on almost any wine aisle? It would be interesting to know what the Moscato is that is showing on the wine lists! If anybody happens to be able to get that info. I know, quite some time ago.. it was cheap and not-so-good!!! But, hopefully that has improved a bit. We do bring our own... Each person can bring on a bottle... Supposed to be for enjoyment in your stateroom. If you wish to have this at supper, there is a corkage fee. Each bottle over the allowed per person would automatically be subject to the corkage fee.
  5. I would want to know I had my spot booked on that one. There is a chance this one can fill up! If you are booking thru Princess, and they have it available... go ahead and go for it ! I am sure that you could cancel if you did need to for some reason. Don't worry about what 'sounds' crazy!!!!! Own it !!! 🙂
  6. Thank you so much! One reason that we might consider the Traditional type of arrangement would have been to be on Deck Six, as that seemed more open to that window view. We will def. consider Deck 7, Anytime w/Reservations as well. First world decisions!! Hahaha!
  7. Hey, maybe just a poor choice of words.... No problem or judgement here!!!! Enjoy your AFT balcony! ( and, as mentioned, I did think I saw one on a deck just above that had a slightly deeper/bigger balcony. All AFT balconies are not created equal on these ships.)
  8. We, too, have an always requested a top sheet... and a blanket. (usually thin.. and do not seem to be new, but SUN is a new ship)
  9. Thanks everyone! It will be quite some time until we sail, but I thought that this would be a topic of interest. I have not heard any feedback here, or the few YouTube cruisers I have looked at, that even refer to this more traditional system on Deck 6... and, seeing that it is not showing as available for Sox Fan, I wonder if they have been using this system??? I seem to remember one report of dining on Deck 6, which did not seem to be a traditional 'seating'. The wonderful Live From that we were all following does report some real motion on the very Aft of Deck 6... (motion was too much for his wife). The rest of the ship seems to be super smooth. But, I hear no other reports of motion back there from other cruisers???
  10. And, did you buy that??? Hahaha! Reminds me of non-functional toilets and somebody reported that they were actually told (paraphrased from memory here...). "Well, the toilets are not supposed to flush in the morning..."
  11. Thanks Cdude ! I am glad that we have a while yet to see if some of these issues are addressed before our Final Payment. Princess... No way are we inclined to board a ship in the Caribbean without functional AC. If there are still reports of no / inadequate AC this Spring and Summer, are we to take a risk?
  12. I am interested in details about the new dining room on the Sun Princess. The new dining room concept looks amazing. Has anyone done the Traditional early/late seating? How has that worked out? Trying to decide whether to book Traditional as to be on that main floor. Of course, Canadianburger mentioned motion there in the very Aft. Has anyone felt that as an ongoing problem. (of coarse, that is where the huge windows are) Wouldn't that motion be felt on the Wakeview Terrace area, and pool?
  13. The balcony on some other decks of these AFT cabins might be deeper/larger. Just a FYI.
  14. That is wonderful to hear! We will def. be booking.. I am really looking forward to it !
  15. NickandJessica, Thanks so much for that info... That is what we needed to know!!! Can you tell me how it all went.. what time you left from the Cruise Ship and what time you got back. I hope you had good weather and a great day.
  16. You might have to be very lucky to find one available, but you might look at the Reserve Mini-suites MID-Forward) on Deck 10. Just forward of the large extended balcony Deluxe cabin.
  17. Dashulak, thanks so much for that photo of the balcony on 14433! We were able to move to one of the Sphere balconies, One on the edge of the Sphere... Like the one next to 14433. I am glad! As the standard balconies on the bump-out sections of the ship seem to be small/shallow... not much better than the Royal Class. So, seeing that photo gives me a good visual of about how deep our balcony wlll be at the widest.
  18. Wow, with that suite at the Ritz! Just catching up... I will def. be spending a bit of time at Good Spirits!!! Vanilla Sky is one of our faves. That is a lot of 'pile' coming off of the new carpet. Somewhat usual for new carpet... but that is a lot of shedding!!!! Their poor vacuums. Hate to hear that the standard chairs on the balconies are just not comfortable! Note to self: bring a butt cushion! ( I always have one, good latex, because I am so short I have always used one in the drivers seat of the car! ) Looks like I see the foot-stools. Seems not all cabins have those yet. I am trying not to be a little 'green', and live vicariously thru your amazing photos as you explore new areas of Rome!
  19. Maybe off topic of this LIVE... But, about the motion sensors... Where are the sensors that control the nightlight at the bedside tables? I know I saw a good photo somewhere, but can not find it. I don't see anything that looks like an obvious sensor on the nightstand table.
  20. Ohhhhh my!!!! The same thing about the source of the beef had crossed my mind. I am truly hoping for some good beef onboard when we sail ! Thank You!!!
  21. I will add another to your post count here!!! I do not remember if you are spending some time now in Rome??? I am def. living vicariously thru the pictures and info on these European port stops. I hope Rome Cabs works out well, and you continue to have happy and safe travels!!!
  22. LOVE the videos!!!! The comedian is so funny and entertaining!!!! Once again... No words for how much we are loving this thread!! Thank you so much for this!!!! And, of course for Dides photos and info as well !!! I do like me a good Filet or a Prime Rib on a nice cruise... so loving the review and pics on that. Hope that the quality of beef is the same when the SUN gets to FLL.
  23. Thank you for that room service menu! I am thinking it does have a few more options than others before! I was one who had asked about that. Wonder, I do not have any experience with the suite life... But I believe that suites can order off of the MDR menus? I do not know about any other extra or unique offerings.
